Is there a place in the case for the rachet

There is actually room in the case for other tools . You pull the tool holder insert out and there is room underneath . There isn't tons of room under there but you could get a 1/4 or thin 3/8 ratchet in . The inserts are made to be removed so that you can neatly keep the set inside a toolbox drawer instead of the little box it comes with , but the space underneath the insert makes a handy little storage compartment .

Why is the case so thick? Is there room underneith the tray to store other things or is it just that ridiculously thick, waste of space?
