Would this be overkill to replace a dremel?

These two tools are not equivalent. The Dremel is 8" long and weighs 1lb and uses 1/8" bits. The Dewalt is 16" long, weighs 3 1/2 lbs and uses 1/4" bits. The Dremel is best for carving a bar of soap into a bear and the Dewalt is best for carving a hole into your car. The Dewalt is a truck and the Dremel is a Honda. Completely different class of tools.
