Giro Isode MIPS

Just getting back into bicycles. I never wore a helmet as a kid when riding bikes, but I know it's the safe and smart thing to do now. And I'm used to wearing helmets since I also ride motorcycles. This one is equipped with MIPS, which I'm familiar with because of motorcycle helmets, and influenced my purchase.I barely notice this thing on my head. It's lightweight but feels high quality. The fit and finish are excellent, as I expect from this brand and the research I've done on it. The chin strap works well with me and doesn't rub or make me uncomfortable. The adjustable, universal fit dial makes this helmet so easy to wear.I haven't tested its protection, luckily, but I have confidence in this helmet to keep me safe if I ever crash. I've ridden in mild weather so far and the helmet is well-ventilated without making me feel cold. I don't think it would every make me feel warm, but I don't need it to. Outfitted it with the Isode II MIPS helmet light, which fits perfectly into a rear vent. That with the flouro yellow/green color makes me feel very visible on the road.Overall, love this helmet. Glad I took my time, read reviews, and found this one.

This helmet replaces an earlier Giro helmet I gave to a friend to replace his when it was damaged. The straps on this one are a soft flat-woven fine-thread cable which is softer and more flexible than on the previous helmet; it is very comfortable against my face and does not dig into the edge of my ears like the previous helmet did. The styrofoam protective layer is molded directly into the shell properly, and the single-knob size adjustment on the helmet itself is the best mechanism I have found on any helmet I have tried. This makes it very easy and fast to adjust if you need to wear a winter cap under it on a cold morning, which you need to remove later when the air temperature, or you, warms up and the cap is no longer needed. It has good ventilation and a light weight and durable scuff-resistant shell that will not disappoint. I have never "crash tested" any helmet in the 32,000 miles I have ridden my road bike, but this helmet appears soundly constructed and is likely as good as any practically ventilated helmet to protect your skull in a crash.

I bought one of these, exactly the same, over 20 years-ago, in a store at a ski mountain in New Hampshire! I used it forever, every time I skied and really liked it. It kept my ears warm without a hat, and was basically just more comfortable, and believe it or not lighter, than a hat. Recently, because I'm older now and wasn't planning on skiing any more (so sad!) I gave my Giro to a friend for biking and such. At the same time I have a bike and bought a scooter and I had a couple helmets to use on the scooter, but regretting having given the Giro away, so I came here. I could barely believe they still make the exact same helmet (in only one size!) - so easy to replace.These are the best helmets on Earth in my opinion. They're remarkably light. There's nothing like them. Get one, don't hesitate because of the cost; I promise this is a helmet you can keep and use for multiple activities for the rest of your life! I'm gonna keep this one and hold it tight. I'd say they're irreplaceable but really they're just inimitable! Ten stars!

The helmet has lots of small padding thus it is a bit of a snug fit. Probably a good thing. I have the adjustment all the way open and fits snug. Thought it would allow for a larger head then mine, 7 1/8.

I grabbed this helmet in the blacked/Red combo while it was on sale, and couldn’t be happier with what I got. The quality feels top-notch—durable construction, lightweight, and well finished.The fit is spot-on. Thanks to the adjustable dial in the back, I got it snug and secure without any pressure points. It hugs my head just right and doesn’t move around even on longer rides. The ventilation is excellent too—lots of airflow keeping things cool.Overall, the combination of high quality, perfect fit thanks to the adjuster, and a great deal on the blacked-out style makes this helmet a worthwhile purchase. I’m really happy with it!

This is a great helmet for a casual rider like me. It fits my head well and is comfortable for both long and short rides. The vents keep my head cool in the summer and I have received a number of compliments on it. I initially bought this helmet because of the bright colors but have been happy with everything about the helmet so far. Thankfully I haven't had a crash so I can't speak to the protection, and I hope I don't ever need to find out.

this helmet is incredibly light and fits snugly. the 22 vents provide excellent airflow, keeping my head cool during long rides. the matte portaro grey/white/red color scheme is stylish and stands out. highly recommend for both casual and serious cyclists.
