Quite possibly the perfect work knife
I use this knife as an everyday carry. Hands down best knife for the cost. I use it for everything from opening packages to cutting wire and it holds an edge. Have beat on it pried and dropped it plenty of times. Cut shingles and whatever else gets in the way. Love that it has a full fine edge as serrated blades are worthless after a few cuts and a little abuse. That is what first drew me to this knife as finding a full edge knife is almost impossible now. The full tang and minimal but well feeling grip is the perfect compliment to the blade. Buy it and a nice stone and you will be happy with this for life. Thank you gerber for making a knife and not a saw.

Best little knife
The GERBER Freeman fixed blade knife is one of the best little knives out there. I do wish it was half serrated, but it’s ok like it is. Blade is just under 4 inches, just right. Came sharp. Handle is rubber and fits the hand good. Wide enough to do working jobs and pointed enough to poke holes. The sheath is useless. Be prepared to find another sheath for this great little knife.

Gutted a cow elk no problem
This is my hands down all time favorite fixed blade hunting knife. My second favorite is the Benchmade hidden canyon hunter. Considering the price difference, Gerber beats it by a mile. It held an edge from cutting through fur and skin on the chest. Stayed sharp enough to cut the diaphragm out cleanly and skinned the whole animal. I did not batton it through the chest or hip bones, however. We used a small hatchet for that. Over all a fantastic value for the real world hunter. Its quality enough to last and function well, cheap enough that you don't cry if you lose it. Also not heavy at all.

IT’S A GOOD KNIFE AT A GREAT PRICE
I’ve been looking for a small fixed-blade knife for a while that had less than a 5-inch blade and yes, there is a plethora of knives out there; I wanted a basic woodcraft knife with a fine edge, I didn’t particularly care if it was a drop point, clip, spear, or tanto. I wanted an economy priced knife and of course full tang. This knife pretty much fit the bill on the basics. The big thing that trumped blade shape was the handle. I have a lot of different knives and all have their fine points, and the handles are all okay and comfortable. But then I found a CRKT Minimalist, I’ve seen it many times on knife sites and always said, “hmmmm, that’s interesting, but I wonder how it feels.” Well when I put this one in my hand it just fit, so I decided to find one with the deeper finger grooves and the Freeman looked good and I check’d off all the other points I wanted. I ordered it for Christmas and it came last Friday. Out of the box it was sharp, not really shaving sharp but a few minutes on my 600 grit diamond sharpener and then some stropping on my leather strop brought it up to shaving sharp. Now how durable sharp is it we’ll just have to see after use; but the feel in my hand is just right. It has a lanyard groove but will probably not use it, neither will I baton with it. I think for the price I got a good fit. Now the only drawback is the sheath, it just not right for me. For a 25 dollar knife I don’t expect a 50 dollar mircata sheath, but a plastic dangler would have been better. The belt loop, I don’t think it will last long because I’m carrying it every day, we’ll keep you up to date. Other than that I think it’s a good knife at a great price. Specifics: It is .1295" or 3.29mm thick. At the edge it is .0300" or 0.77mm Blade length 3.5" or 89.74mm. It's 8.4130 or 214mm long. handle length 4.023" or 102.18mm. 1.1085" or 28.2mm blade width. 1.0325 " or 26.22 wide handle at widest point.

Perfect Knife for Size
Was looking at some more expensive fixed blade Gerbers and noted the reviews for the freeman Guide. For the price this is an excellent knife. Very sharp out of the box, full tang and excellent grip. The knife is small for a fixed blade but excellent for carry as it is light and easily concealed. This knife is a keeper. Love that it is made in the USA. I ordered two by mistake and trying to decide if I want to keep both???

Great knife, crap sheath.
I'm rating the knife, not the crappy sheath. I first bought the folding version of the knife and it held up well to a lot of cutting, so I bought the fixed blade version and I like it as well. The sheath is crap, designed by someone who obviously doesn't carry a knife on a belt much, but this is about the knife and I can replace the sheath with something I'll make out of leather. (What they did was make a sheath that covers most of the knife, with the sides of the sheath running up the grip completely. You can't cut it down because they put the belt loop high. It's a decent sheath if you don't want to get to the knife quickly and it'd be OK if you just use the sheath for a knife left in a bag or box.

Was 4 stars until I discovered where it was made.
I like Buck Knives and own a few. I bought 3 of these just because they were so cheap (price). I didn't pay much attention to the steel used in construction or where they were made. I assumed the USA, but just discovered that the knife and the sheath are made in China. The knife itself it a nice size, I like the grip and the way it feels in my hand. I do not like the sheath and am accustomed to Buck Knives with leather sheaths but those days are pretty much gone and you have to buy aftermarket most of the time. This knife was a 4 star knife but now that I discovered it is made in China Buck loses 1 star. I honestly don't know if I would have purchased these knives if I had known where they were made. Still an ok knife though for the price. Anyway, I am giving it 4 stars based on initial impression, it came pretty darn sharp although I still ran it across my strop a few times out of habit, and I don't know what I will do with it, my knife collection is getting as large as my wife's shoe collection! But it's "perty"

Excelente producto! ULTRA recomiendo
