Great strings
Once tuned These strings sound great. First time I had a wire wound C string.

Patience with new strings
As a new Ukulele player, I purchased a very inexpensive concert size ukulele here on Amazon. (Under $60.00) in January 2024. I wanted to experiment with a different string set to see if the Ukulele overall sound would improve. I decided to purchase a set of D'Addario Black Nylon strings. I strung them, tuned them and began to play. Like all strings they needed time to settle requiring constant tuning and stretching. For three weeks of playing about 2 hours daily, they sounded dull and lifeless with average tonation. Dissapointed, I began to consider alternatives. Suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, the sound changed dramatically. Bright projection, excellent tonality and a warm feel when playing them. My point is, I now LOVE these strings and I am happy I had the patience to not dismiss them right away. Maybe it took longer for them to stretch/settle than other strings? I'm not sure but for all of the other new players out there, give your new strings time and play often. You will be happy with the results.

Meh.
July 26 Update: These just aren't working out for me. After giving them time to settle in and playing them regularly, the strings still won't stay in tune. I have a set of Low G Aquila Nylgut strings out for delivery today and hopefully those will treat me better. Original Review: I bought the black nylon soprano ukulele strings for my Flight travel uke that I believe came with Aquila Nylgut strings. I found the Nylgut to be a bit stiff for my liking, and am really enjoying the flexibility of these black nylon strings. They're still settling in, so I'm tuning quite often, but there is already a positive change in sound quality, and the black strings look really sharp on my black uke. There are mixed reviews for black nylon strings around the uke community, but so far I'm enjoying them. Keep in mind every instrument is different and you may like something different, but they're a low enough price point to try several.

Good nylon replacement uke strings
I had never replaced strings on an instrument before, so there was a bit of a learning curve. The strings went out of tune for several days after the replacement when I'd play, but I think that's normal while the new strings are stretching out. After a few YouTube videos and some trial and error, these replacement strings have worked out well for me.

String review
After the strings stretched in the strings tuned in very well and made my very inexpensive ukulele soun so much better taking out flat spots in tones and notes. My cheep uke with these strings made playing it very enjoyable and sound great. Will purchase agine.

These are a let down
I’ve had these black strings on for over week now. They still seem to be settling in after a lot of playing and tuning. I am still tuning regularly at 9 days of daily playing. The E string is particularly stretchy and has taken a lot of wraps around the tuning peg. The overall sound is muted and not particularly bright. The manufacturer describes them as warm and dark. It seems like the “dark” is more like flat/dull to me. I have several ukes and have experimented with plenty of strings—these black strings are very low on my joy list. They feel decent on the hand except for the wound 3rd string. I have no idea why they offer a wound string in this set. I can’t find an explanation online. Not only does it look goofy as the only gray-ish string in the mix, but it is dull and has a buzzy sound. It is a .036 inch diameter string in a slot where many tenor 3rd strings are .041 inch. So, it’s probably vibrating in the nut - and it’s metal buzzy to boot. The C note is tolerable and has good sustain, but anything fretted from D on up the fretboard is flat and lacks harmonic tone. Aluminum wound? Why? For instrumental finger-pickers they are ok because they don’t need to project as much. But for strummers who sing along, there is not much to support a voice. Plus, quick strums sound muddy. For me this was another string experiment that gives me insight, but I will not buy again. Further, I will take them off sooner than I would most strings. The cool color isn’t worth the sacrifices in sound and peculiarity. Especially since there are proven options for black/brown strings. Hard to believe D’Addario sells enough of these to keep them as a viable product.

Great tone!
Before trying these, I tried D'Addario Titanium strings and D'Addario Nyltech strings. Of all three, I definitely prefer these Rectified ones. I'm very new at playing the baritone ukulele, but I noticed a considerable difference between these strings and the others. I tried very hard to like the Titanium ones, but they were rough on my fingers and made playing uncomfortable. The Nyltech strings weren't terrible, they just didn't last long or stay in tune well. And I didn't particularly prefer their sweeter tone anyway. The Rectified strings are wonderful. They have a darker tone than the others and they're a comfortable texture. They're not as difficult to press down and make learning and practice the focus of my time rather than my poor aching fingers. I'll definitely be buying these ones again.

So Glad I Bought These!
As a rookie ukulele player, they’re my new favorite strings and I plan on continuing to buy them! Visually, they’re sleek and cool! They sound beautiful! (Bright, airy, warm and crisp, without being sharp.) I’ve only been through a few sets of strings, so I wouldn’t say I’m an expert, but I’m extremely happy with these!
