Heavy dark roast coffee drinker, often oils and accompanying acidity ruin the beautiful flavor of a perfect cup/pot/pots, of coffee...paramount importance of cleaning "often "beat feet" to Amazon, I mean, "get hat" and buy this product, it is "OUTSTANDING" and works "AMAZINGLY" well, in short time, ridding pot and machine of residue that ruins your coffee!! And...Urnex makes an equally important cleaner for the interior workings of your coffee/espresso machine as well.it is also as effective as its brother lauded above, namely URNEX coffee&espresso machine "DESCALING POWDER", meant for the internal heating element, improving time of brewing cycle and lengthning the life of that heating element, while enhancing flavor!@ Verbose, perhaps, but experienced, and dedicated to a great cup of coffee, every time...the only reason it won't work for you, lies with not following some very simple instructions!!!! Saw this product recommended by Tecnivorm/Moccamaster to clean out their coffee makers and saw the glowing reviews here, so decided to purchase. I've clearly been a negligent owner of this machine because despite regularly descaling it with powder over the years and then running cycles with pure vinegar to (I thought) give it a decent cleaning, this filled my coffee pot with brown water *just after* descaling it. Gone are years of brown residue both in the drip-over arm as well as the brew basket after just a single use, and as an added bonus, I poured that pot of brown solution into my stainless travel coffee mug that had also been stained brown over the years... after letting it sit for five minutes and then just giving it a light scrub with a dishcloth, BAM, essentially as good as new, as shown in the pic. So yeah, I'm a believer in this product!

Urnex is a great way to clean a coffeepot! The first step in cleansing it does a lot of work - the first pour is covered with coffee sediment, followed by more cleansing with the next one, and usually the last one is clear. I highly recommend it.

Does an excellent job of descaling my Tassimo coffee machine, as we have hard well water. It has helped keep my machine in good working order for 11 years!!
