Prohibition—a lawless era where bootleggers prosper and mobsters prowl. In this murky world, blood is shed without regard or regret and for Angelo Lagusa, it’s all he knows. After the Vanetti Mafia murders his family, Angelo is left alone, the burn of revenge just a flickering light until he receives a letter that holds the key to vengeance in the form of a hit list. But there’s a catch—he’ll have to get close to the Vanetti family by befriending the don’s son, Nero. Working side-by-side with the future don, Angelo becomes Avilio Bruno, a loyal hired gun with a talent for pickpocketing and quick planning. As the days dwindle away, Avilio and Nero grow closer and the kill list gets shorter. But between two families at odds and every target on Nero’s head, the two find themselves in a world of trouble. When it comes down to it, will Avilio—no, Angelo—pull the trigger on a man who considers him family? Review: It works on UK Blu-ray players - This is going to be a review of the case and extra content because I assume that, if you are thinking about buying this show, you've already seen it and have decided you liked it enough to purchase the physical copy. I actually bought the Blu-ray from desertcart.com (USA) before it was available for purchase from the desertcart.co.uk (UK) and I can confirm that it is both region A and B so it works just fine on UK players. It also comes with the DVD version of the series so you should be able to watch it regardless. The case is nothing special. Holds the disc and nice artwork, can't ask for much else. It comes with quite a few extra including, but not limited to, a commentary on episode 4 and about half a dozen 5 min "comedy" episodes staring 'cartoonist' versions of the shows characters. I can't give this the full five stars because it is charging a lot for a series that only consists of a dozen episodes, but if you can get over the price this is a must get. Me encanta

Revenge in prohibition era USA
It amazes me that such excellent a tale of crime and revenge set in prohibition era USA can be found in a Japanese animation. 91 days, along with the classic anime "Baccano", are two such works. Superbly written characters combined with visceral violence and brilliantly realistic artwork, bring this world to life. A superb period-authentic (to these Aussie ears, anyway) English language dub is the cherry on the cake of this series. 91 days is not for the faint-hearted; it's very violent and has some harsh language, but these only add to the authentic aesthetic. The disc came from the states in two weeks (one week early), was excellent value and arrived in perfect condition as well. Highly recommended for fans of Baccano, The Untouchables and gangster films in general.
