Top Chiice for Corrosion Prevention
This stuff is great. I use it on firearms that may get wet, by coating all surfaces prior to the hunt. Afterwards I clean it all out and treat surfaces normally. I also coat my knives with this stuff post-season to keep them corrosion free in the off-season. Much better than normal oil especially on tool steels.

Awesome.
I’ve been using this stuff for at least 5 years. Never had another rust problem on my pickups since. Works great!

Great for slowing AC condenser unit aluminum fin corrosion
As I nurse along my split AC system, I tried many light oil products to slow or stop the existing aluminum fin damage on my outside AC condenser unit. This product seems to be doing the job. You will need to buy a HVLP sprayer with at least a 3mm nozzle to apply it with a nice spray. Brushing it on fix is no good. No hand spray bottle can deliver the spray pattern needed because the material thickness. Yea ,it’s an expensive product, but hopefully I’ll see more years out of an otherwise happy AC unit. Have you priced a new replacement AC unit?

Good viscosity for coating galvanized propane gas connections
I live in costal Alabama. I discovered a propane leak at a galvanized fitting that was connected to copper at ground level at my 250 gal tank. Got the gas shut off and was able to get emergency service out. This system is only 6 years old. The technician found two additional leaks on the opposite side of the property at my emergency whole house generator (which is hooked up to a 500 gal propane tank). We found severe corrosion at a four connections which I have had replaced. The tech from the propane provider recommended WD 40 Specialist silicone spray to help protect the fittings from corrosion because it wont harm the rubber gaskets in some of the connections. I reached out to Corrosion X on a recommendation by a trusted friend to see if their product might do a better job. This is the email I got back: Hi Cindy, We looked at several issues around this request. The first is materials compatibility. Basically we want something that has multi-metal protection and something that won’t negatively affect the O-ring gaskets. CorrosionX, XD and HD are inherently less detrimental to the types of rubber used in propane O-rings than propane itself is. Further, all of the CorrosionX products are very low in VOCs (Volatile Organic Content, which is basically solvent). The CorrosionX products are 3-4% whereas the Specialist Silicone is 20%. 20% is pretty low for most products of this kind, but CorrosionX is still much lower, so it’s definitely less deleterious to most materials. The Specialist Silicone is not really a corrosion inhibitor. It will provide a little bit of that function, but not very good. Any of the CorrosionX products will run circles around that, and in your situation, protection from Corrosion is the primary function you are looking for. With that in mind, our recommendation would be CorrosionX Heavy Duty (HD, the green can), or if that were not readily available than CorrosionX Extended Duty (XD, the orange can). Regular CorrosionX will still work well, but you’ll get much longer service from HD or XD, and it will withstand lots of direct rain, water sprinklers and salt air for longer than regular, red label CorrosionX, which is our ultra-thin grade product. I hope that helps! All the best, J.D. Hill Corrosion Technologies Between the salt air, inferior galvanized and stainless steel fittings, and propane which is corrosive, I had a ridiculous amount of corrosion for a system that is 6 years old. Thankfully I caught it in time. I brushed on Corrosion XD to all my connections and am hopeful it will do the trick. I will monitor and reapply every 6 months. Glad Im still here to tell you this story! Hope it helps someone out.

Fantastic product. Crappy spray can
Product works great. However, I did have the same issue with the spray can not working after a few times. Ended up drilling a hole in the can and pouring product into a plastic container and using a chip brush to apply. Used it on some bronze fittings in a boat bilge. No corrosion after 6 months! Going to undercoat my truck next and see if it lasts longer than the fluid film I have been using.

Works great, better than expected.

Great product.
I had a little trouble with my order but the seller took care of it right away. The spray is very thick and may not cover quite as well as the regular corrosion x but is very good in a coastal environment.

Stops corrosion
It is kind of thick so it doesn’t spray on very well. Works good with paint brush or rag. It lasts longer than the regular corrosion x but I like this so well I might get a gallon of the regular corrosion x so I can spray it on places I can’t get to with the thicker hd
