Simpeak 2-Pack Hand Crank Solar Powered Emergency LED Flashlight, Survival Flashlight with Dynamo Torch for Outdoor Sports, Yellow

Back in 2019 I purchased the emergency light on the far left of the photo, can’t be more happy with it. Pretty much kept in storage 4 years and it works to this day like the day I bought it. Recently Amazon recommended the Simpeak 2 pack to me, which looked exactly the same, but at a much cheaper price compared to the previous one I bought and other similar ones so I picked them up to have some more like this. The Simpeak 2 pack seems to be exactly the same as the other brand. They are the two on the right in the photo. The lights showed up with no charge, but one quick turn of the crank, they came to life a bit. I charged them a bit in the sun and it works as expected. The hand crack on these is smooth and easy, but seem to have a more whiny and hollow sound than the other brand. Both of the 2 pack sound slightly different, so it could just be the ones I received. The clip on these are firm, but don’t take a lot to open, and look like they will hold up nicely. The light is bright enough for something this size, nothing spectacular, but great in a pinch. I recommend the Simpeak 2 back because of the above and more importantly because of the price. No reason to buy the exact same thing at a higher price. Will try to update my review when I get them out to test them again in a year or two.

These work great! Sick of always buying and needing batteries for camp trips. Put them in stockings for all the kids, they loved them. Bought one 20 years ago still works. Gave it to my tour guide in Costa Rica he still keeps in touch over FB and still has it.

I got these yesterday for camping and my bug out bag. The crank makes more noise than I would like but unless I'm needing to be quite it's not a problem. Lights are nice and bright, easy to use, and a good camo color. Haven't tried the solar yet since it's been raining but says it can charge by any light source. I like that it an clip on the outside of a pack to charge by the sun but not 5 seconds after I handed my boyfriend his he broke the clip. It was and easy fix, the pin came out and had to figure out how to get the clip back on the spring but works fine now. Overall, I'm happy with them and think they will serve us well. Just don't forget to follow the directions and crank once a month the keep battery to max usability. Full charge by solar in 40 hours, cranking depends on how fast you crank but don't go past 15 minutes per instructions. Gives 2 hours of light.

Doesn’t shine with a strong, LED white light, but easy to rev, reliable and fine for most environs. Nice light, easy to use. Good value

I've lived on the Gulf Coast for several decades and we all know there are certain supplies and types of gear that one MUST have available every summer and fall. One of those is multiple flashlights, which can be expensive and which also require a supply of fresh batteries for those inevitable occasions when the power goes out for a week or two. I bought several of this model of solar-powered flashlight with a crank as back-up power about a dozen years ago and they've gotten regular and sometimes heavy use every year. They're light-weight & small (pocket-size) and have a clip for hooking to your belt (so you can carry an armload of stuff). I keep them on a window ledge behind the blinds in each room so that (1) they will always e fully changed when I need them, and (2) I know exactly where to find them in the dark. (No trying to remember which kitchen drawer the batteries are in, either.) The original ones are only just now beginning to get flaky -- which is a really long time for such inexpensive equipment of such a simple design. Hopefully, these four replacements will last just as long.

Extended power failures can happen without warning. I was reminded of this when a relative lost power for a week recently after widespread storm damage. We decided to buy these hand-crank/solar cell flashlights, in case of a longer duration outage. They are smaller than expected, but work great. The instructions say to crank them for one minute, once a month, to maintain a minimum charge. This produced a reasonably bright light, not enough to light up the whole room but certainly good enough for emergency use during power failures. Additional charging is needed for longer use. We have them charging in the window sill now. You can never have too many flashlights, and it's always wise to have some that don't need batteries. I love the price, which was lower than I had expected to pay for this extra peace of mind.

Love these! They help in a pinch It's solar and has hand crank too... so I leave them on the windowsill to charge. I have used them several times. Not a super-duper bright light as the light itself is small ...but good enough to look for dropped keys etc. leave one in your car and one on the windowsill for emergency use. I like the hand crank feature, if you run outta power you can recharge it... which would be good in bad rainy weather camping etc. if not charged by solar.
