HARDELL Rivet Nut Tool Kit, 14" Rivnut Tool with 80 Rivet Nuts & 6 Mandrel

Worked great. Needed it for just one project so not too concerned about durability but all seemed good to me.

Never owned any rivnut tools before. Wanted to get the last rivnut kit I would ever need. The kit was packaged well. Delighted with the way the tool rests inside the case. The rivnuts that came with the kit turned out to be exactly what I needed to mount my license plate. Only things I can think of to improve the kit: Labeling on case: add words “RIVNUT KIT” and range of supported rivnuts. Inside, there should be a better way to store rivnuts similar to how great the various mandrils fit inside plastic protective holders and fit nicely into designated slots. I wonder where I can purchase replacement rivnuts and additional rivnut size mandrils for this kit?

Worked like a charm, very intuitive to use and surprisingly effective. The hardest part of the job was removing the damaged rivet (not related to the tool) that installing the new one felt too easy. Well-built and the right size for what I needed. Be sure to buy little ziplock baggies for the rivets once you open a given pack.

Third time's a charm with the Hardell (2025 New Version). I had a project to install several 3/8"-16 rivet nuts. The tool I've had for a few years, a common older style, failed after the second nut - pulled the mandrel right out of the aluminum head. Bought another brand with a different style mandrel. By the end of the second nut it failed with a 'pop'. Another thread failure - mandrel nut this time. I've found both these failures in old reviews. No support or replacement parts. This tool was promptly returned. I then spent a lot of time searching Amazon options for rivet nut tools. Pretty much all are manufactured off shore. It's clear that of all the lever/handle style tools there are basically two designs and both seem to be weak and prone to failure on anything over a 5/16" nut. Then I came across the Hardell 14" tool advertised with "Upgraded Structure". Hmmm, okay. Overall it appears beefier with some improvements where it matters. Upon receipt I was able to install the remaining 3/8"-16 rivet nuts in my project without any trouble or breakage. So, this one's a winner in my book. User tips: Be sure that the mandrel matched "nose tip" (color coded nut) and larger "sleeve nut" are fully seated and tight (photo attached). Either can back out while making other tool adjustment. You risk tool damage if loose. And take small 'bites' in stages when pulling large nuts.

There are some things to overcome with setup. Good tool so far. I have set 50 or more Rivnuts with no issue. Quality of the components are not terrible. Does not look like replacement mandrels are available, Learn to use it and it is fine.

This rivnut tool works great. Easy to use, easy to set nuts that hold beautifully. I first used it to mount a wheel bracket to the back of my fiberglass kayak so I could roll rather than carry the kayak from the truck to the lake. With the rivnuts, the bracket is solid and I've kayaked every week for 2 months without an issue. Next I used it for assembling steel arbor panels. Perfect again.

I ordered this rivnut gun to use on my boat to secure some rod holders and it worked great very easy to use and strong treads. Great tool for the price tag came with multiple different sizes and a chart to show you what size drill bit to use would recommend

Great tool, perfect for the job, quick and easy to use. I specifically used it to replace some old nut inserts that had stripped out during removal when I was refinishing my running boards on my F150. I popped the old ones out and replaced them with the 1/4" rivet nuts that worked perfectly.

Cracked open this bad boy right away. Worked just as intended. My previous rivnut tool was a little easier to use (leverage wise) but this is better fitting into tight working areas. Out of the 10 I did on the job only one slipped. But that may have been user error more than the product.
