Can I install a rivet in aluminum block?

I do not see how as the principle of these rivet nuts is a process of compression on the opposite side of a piece of metal to secure the rivet. A solid aluminum block is simply too large and does not provide a side to anchor the rivet.

Cam i use itfor regular ribets

Will not work for regular rivets.

I want to install in square aluminum tubing. the rivet nut i want to use is 1/4-20 stainless steel. will this work in that application?
