This syringe is keeping my aging cat alive. She was diagnosed with early stage 1 kidney disease, then several consecutive stress events plunged her into (probably) liver disease and days of anorexia and bulimia. This feeding syringe plus a mousse-type food thinned with water has helped her bounce back from the edge, and she's still with me 9 weeks later. Occasionally the syringe has gotten stuck while cleaning it and the rubber tip pulls off in the plastic tube, but I've been able to get it out and reattach it without issues. If you have to do regular feedings, you may develop some calluses too, since the edge of the plunger end is a little sharp. Cleaning the syringe is pretty easy. Just be careful after cleaning because the syringe gets more slippery - I've painted my ceiling with liquid catfood at least twice trying to tap down the food and press out air bubbles... No real complaints though. A $6-7 syringe is way better for my budget and my cat's stress levels than an $800 feeding tube surgery. Each sick cat needs something different, but this has worked for mine for now.
