Dragon Professional Individual For Dummies

I agree with other reviewers I think this book focuses heavily upon version 14 and doesn’t tell what specific version it’s covering, I’ve been a power user of dragon since version 1 so it’s gotten so much better. I didn’t buy this book because I didn’t understand the software I was simply trying to learn anything new. I discovered I know more than I thought however it did help me create a little cheat sheet to tape near the computer screen for commands that when you need them you can’t remember them and that’s annoying, so it’s very useful in that regard. I don’t get why they don’t just say what version this book covers at the beginning they are very hush about it and it seems silly to me. If you’re using version 15 it’s very useful still since the only real difference between the two versions is that the deep learning engine that drives everything is more powerful. I suggest as a long time power user, don’t try to run dragon with anything less than 16GB of RAM and at the very least a i7 processor I know the requirements are lower but you’ll find you need more than suggested. Experience trumps specs I also suggest that you let dragon learn from your specific documents and if you have oddball words definitely import a master word list with txt file from notepad. You’ll find doing that speeds up the process of dragon learning your speech and is expedited you’ll simply get more accurate results almost instantly. Overall it’s not the most amazing read but you don’t buy a book like this expecting a novel it’s a learning curve no matter what. The software is a learning process and sometimes you learn something unexpected after years of various versions like me. I did learn some new stuff in here I wasn’t expecting to learn. One thing I feel they could’ve covered better for users is optimizing their settings for most accurate dictation, it’s taken me years of messing around to find the best settings. But for a new user this book isn’t going to cover that.

Having recently purchased Dragon Naturally speaking Version 15.6 through Amazon I needed some additional help over that provided by the vendor and online forums. This writer of this book has released a couple versions of this book over time so be careful to get the latest, which is the latest at the time of purchase as Ver 15 has additional features over previous ones. Great book very helpful used in conjunction with other online resources.

There is a lot of material in this book, presented by houmous writer. Is about 360 pages long, it is well worth it in acquainted with before you start using your dragons professional individual programme. This book is useful and programming the Dragon commercial did you get the Wellhouse train dragon who 99% of the time response to what you want to say! The bus isn’t cheap at £16 or so, but worth it to me, at any rate! Before you buy the book, you can see 39 pages for free online and see what you think!

It’s a complex piece of software to utilise fully. This book enables you to do this.

It is very helpful, although it seems that the book could have been more condensed without losing any of its value. It's a good starters guide to Dragon, which as it happens, I am using to write this review.
