Hyper Fan 8" 710cfm..Will buy again forever.
Awesome fan!!!!! Didn't buy it for a grow room. Bought it to circulate air in my apartment with window AC and baseboard heat. It's pictured with a i power 8 inch activated carbon filter for better air quality as we have black mold and bad smells from time to time. Only had the fan for 2 days running 24-7. Speed controller at 35 to 50%. The cord for the speed is 16ft which is plenty for my use. No scratches dings or dents. No missing parts or bends in the mounting plate. No bent wires or broken connectors or loose screws. I've read tons of reviews on this fan and I'm very pleased with it. The only thing that caught me off guard was the two year warranty which I read in another review it was a typo when they printed all the material on the box and in it. Got it in 2 days shipping wise. It moves a ton of air. Will not stay like the pictures if my ducting ever gets here. I have it on a push button outlet that's rated 5 amps for easy on/off ability. Added a short video my mic isn't that great but you can sort of hear it ramping up and down. Might sound like it hums but it doesn't. If I ever get a house and it doesn't have central air I'll probably get another 8 or maybe a 10 inch fan from Hyper Fan to do the same thing! If you haven't seen the you tube videos also the wattage is 100 watts at 100% 50 watts at 50% and 10 watts at 35% which is incredible for the air it moves. 10$ extra a month to run it all out 24-7 isn't a bad price point including it has compatible speed controller and 5 year warranty you would have to be crazy not to spend extra money on this fan unless it's going to be in an area over 110 degrees.

Excellent product!
I bought this product a second time after the first one died when a huge storm went through our area and poured record-breaking amount of rain and some of it went through the roof vent (blown by crosswinds), dripped into the interior compartment and fried the circuit board. I had installed the first one in the attic above my friend's nail salon 18 months earlier and it worked wonderfully. Small, compact yet powerful enough to vent a 6 chair nail salon with barely any detectable sound when it was turned on. Even though the price had gone up 25% compared to the first purchase, it was still a good price/deal! I was also glad to see that the second one had a slight but notably critical improvement in design to prevent water entry from the top down. It would have definitely prevented the frying of the previous fan!

glad i spent the extra money this fan is great and if it lasts will pay for itself in power savings over the others! its light for its size and pretty compact really has some great power! fan draws maybe 1amp speed control is a is a nice feature, i have it hooked up to a 1000w cooltube hood w/mh bulb setup in a 5x5x6.5' tent light is about 24" away from my non fruiting tomatoes temp is holding steady at 77 deg running at 80% or so humidity well its november but its holding steady at 50-55%. its quite enough i mean you know its going but its alot quieter than say a air conditioner. right now i dont have a carbon filter hooked up but it will be even quieter than it is now im sure! hope this review helps folks who are trying to decide if its woth the extra coin!

If you want to seriously move air through ductwork or ...
If you want to seriously move air through ductwork or wherever, this is your baby! I am so impressed I`m beside myself. I had a lot of trouble moving air to another room with the stock fans from the hardware store, but with the 315 cfm this 6" gem delivers, I am toasty warm now. I`m not even running it at full power, about 1/2 and I have all the air I need. Yes, it has some noise to it, but inside my insulated duct and above my ceiling tiles, I have no noise issue to speak of. No matter what fan you buy, if you are moving any amount of air, it will have some sound emanating from it. The controller is variable speed but does not have an off switch. That would be the only improvement I can suggest. I put a switch on the plug from a remote location, so it`s not an issue for me.

Moves a lot of air!
Quality product.Update: Upping to 5 stars after a solid 12 months of use. Reliable, quiet (after working thru flow issues, see below), adjustable speed, and powerful!Original comment: Only a week in, so will update later if reliability problems come up. Using for distributing wood stove heat through ducts to other parts of the house.Seems to be on the loud side however - I am finding with this much air flow (10 inch is over 1000cfm), little things become big noises and so far it's not the fan's fault. E.g. The metal registers on the two 4"x12" registers for intake over the stove were vibrating at higher speeds. The vibration sounded like a distant tornado siren - not pleasant, and hard to pinpoint. Until removing the registers, I had to consider the fan as the source, but after changing the registers the siren sound is gone, so not the fan's fault. Now I am working on what sounds like a jet going overhead downstream of the fan (all insulated flex ducting). I'm thinking it may be due to back pressure at the fan, which goes directly into a 10-8-6 tin wye. Will update as I install more downstream ducts as this should reduce the back pressure. If I get this sounding better it will be a 5 star review. Update: indeed another downstrem outlet helps to reduce jet sound.. proof, when I close register rumble is louder.

If you are serious about your need to move air buy this fan.
Rearranged my setup recently to consolidate from two separate rooms into one. With that came a need to evacuate heat in a 5 x 8 closet. Since I was only using a T5 VHO with 8 48" bulbs I thought one of those 4" AC infinity fans would do the job. Not even close. I might as well have thrown that $89.99 out of a window. Anyways I took the time to do a little research and came to the conclusion based on that, that this fan should be the one. Fortunately I was right. Paid a little extra for shipping because I was against the clock with the heat now at problem levels. The thing about this fan is it's ability to overcome static pressure. This is the most important aspect of moving air with inline fans. Not only does this fan blast air, it does it using less electricity that most other fans. With the 4" fan, I could turn it on full and you wouldn't know by looking at any flexible ducting that it was even on. With this 8" Hyper Fan there is absolutely no doubt whether or not its on. I hooked up a 25' 8" 4 layer flexible duct that just came out of the box and wasn't fully stretched out yet and when I turned on the fan it inflated like a balloon. So hard that you would have to turn the fan off or down if you wanted to do anything with the ducting. You couldn't manipulated it if the fan was fully on. It would be like wrestling with a 8" fire hose. Of course it has a variable speed control so you don't have to run it full blast. But if you need an inline fan that you can be sure will do what we buy inline fans for, this one is it. Yeah it's not the cheapest but in the long run since it works so flawlessly and uses less juice and has a 5 year guarantee. I'd say it's worth every penny.

The fan is great, but the speed-control has two major flaws, any use other than growing be careful, the fan does not turn off!!!
The fan is very good, but the speed-control has two major flaws. First, the three-pin connector to the fan does not fit well and if you apply a bit of pressure, the pins inside the connector bend easily, this is in my view due to poor engineering. I found several reviewers of the Hyper Fan that complained about the same problem with the connection of the speed-controller and the pins bending. The second major flaw of the speed-controller is that in the lowest setting, the fan does not stop, and it continues to operate at 35% of it power, this inability to turn the power to zero would be okay if the power-controller had an "On and Off" switch, but the speed-controller is lacking that necessary switch to turn the fan completely off.For customers like me, who buy these fans to use as generators of air-flow and static-pressure in order to drive an air filter system in my Clean-room, used exclusively for health reasons, the lack of a switch in the dimer to turn off the fan from a distance is a Major engineering flaw.Even some of the cheap after-market controllers sold on Amazon, include the "On and Off" switch, it is inconceivable that a fan of this quality that sells for double the price of other fans, does not include a simple and inexpensive switch in the speed-controller.It is a great mistake for the manufacturer of these great fans to "assume" that every potential buyer of their product will be interested only in growing something and therefore never have to turn off the fan. The distributor of these high-quality devises is narrowing its market-share unnecessarily by erroneously assuming that intended potential use.Hyper-Fan, please read this and do something about it, you are seriously compromising the usefulness of your products due to something that could be easily added to your devices without significantly impacting your production cost.Yes, sure I can go out and buy my own external power-switch, but when comparable fans sell for half the price of these fans, I refuse to add another $24 dollars to my order to turn a fan that cost twice as much into a useful fan for my intended purpose. Please!!! for your own good, pay attention to this!!!

and this is by far the best. It's absolutely the quietest fan we've used
We've been experimenting with fans for the last few years for our indoor grow space. We've probably tried 12-15 different fans, and this is by far the best. It's absolutely the quietest fan we've used. On low, it's even quieter than our insulated can fan. The digital controller keeps it from humming when turned down. We have one of these as the intake for an 8 x 4 tent, and another brand as the exhaust, with a lot of hot lights, and it keeps the tent very cool, (almost too cool) without the use of air conditioning. It's pulling thru a 14x20x2 filter, and it moves an incredible amount of air. On high, I'm afraid it'll pop the tent like a balloon if I don't have the doors open. The other 8" fan (Hurricane) can't keep up, and the Hurricane is much louder. I'll be buying more of these for sure.
