Conair Styling Essentials Pillow Soft Rollers / Curlers, 18 Ct

I have been using these rollers for about 2 months. The trick is in learning how to use them. I am getting better results after many tries. You can get an unusual soft bouncy ringlet curl or spiral curl by rolling lengthwise both left & right. After removing rollers, it's easy to separate tiny strands so that it's piecey & very bouncy ringlets whereas I have straight fine hair, altho plenty of it. My hair is white (age 70). I use some Paul Mitchell Foaming (liquid) Pommade after shampooing; very iittle as it can be greasy, more on the ends than near the base. I roll my hair in different directions & get a glossy toss of soft ringlet curls that are loose & very girlish. Rolling technique us kinda hard. Rolling the tip of hair in first, gives a tight wild curl. Place roller halfway to base of strand, roll remaining hair to tip around roller, then wind down to base. Don't worry if a little hair comes out at tip, the rest of the curl is tight enough to hold up that looser tip. I set my hair while watching t.v. when it is barely damp. I might spray lightly with a mix of water & a little liquid pommade, maintaining a great shine. Then I sleep on these rollers & I cannot feel them; they're very comfortable. Hair is always dry in the morning. If the set looks wild I pin it half-back behind ears & it looks great with a burst of ringlet curls sticking out from behind my ears, so you can't go wrong. If you wanted more lift on the top you could use sponge rollers on just the top. I sometimes use a satin-covered sponge roller on top with the Conair on the bottom. I can also make a nice page-boy, turned under & very bouncy. Setting your hair dry is an option, this gives a more manageable curl; however, the rollers slip out of dry hair while sleeping, so I'm still working on this option. I really like these rollers for the possibility of style they provide & especially the long-lasting curl & 'sleepability'. Last, often the base of my hair in the back comes out straight, so I use a row of pincurls across the very bottom. You can set each part of your hair according to its individual curl factor. Resourcefulness is a must. But I really like these rollers for the very long-lasting bouncy spiral curl I get.

Soft, comfortable rollers give tight curls without any hair breakage. Rollers on the small side. Best results when used on damp, not wet hair, allowed to dry without heat. Curls give volume to thin hair.

Wow, these really work! I have very long, straight, very fine hair that refuses to hold a curl (I couldn't even have perms back in the day.) Figured there was no harm in trying these. I washed my hair and let it air dry so that it was 99% dry, then I put these in before bed. I spritzed a bit of blowout spray on each section of hair before I rolled it up. When I removed the rollers this morning, I had genuine curls for the first time in my life! It's been 2 hours and they've only relaxed slightly. I'm truly amazed. See photos below. Also, they're so soft that they're very comfortable to sleep in-- no problems there whatsoever. The only reason I'm taking off a star is because several of the rollers were defective. The stiching is very flimsy, and the wire is poking out the ends of 3-4 of the rollers. One of them is discolored, with a brown substance covering half the roller. So those 5 got discarded. Luckily, I only need 12 to cover my entire head bc I like the bigger, looser curls. Very impressed with how well these do the job! No more curling irons for me.

The rollers did give me nice curlers however the curls didn't last all day (I even used a texturizing spray). I wouldn't say it was worth what I paid (the shipping cost was high).
