Easy to use
This is a great product. I just received it and used it to make waffles. They didn't stick and there is a beep when the maker is hot enough to use and a beep when they are done. Perfect waffles. Easy clean up as the plates are removalable.

Easy to clean, works excellently and the waffles come out fluffy and tall.
A spot on product that makes the best waffles of any I have previously purchased. The rest can go to the thrift store but this one stayes. Well constructed, easy to clean, nice coior and the crisp crust is just right to hold the syrup. Since it makes four at a time it's good for a family or if you are single make the full plate and freeze the leftovers. This is one waffle maker you are going to use alot!

5 stars! Always produces the best waffles
After a bunch of uses I can confidently say this waffle maker is great! Extremely simple to use with just 5 browning settings - 5 always produces the best results. Also has a beep when it's ready so you don't even have to pay attention to it and easy to clean.

Decent waffles and easy to clean
I bought the Krups waffle iron to replace a Villaware waffle iron that I've had for more than 20 years. I have to say that my old waffle iron made superior waffles -- very fast, and the waffles were crisp and well browned. Lately, however, I've had an issue with the heating elements that caused the top to be almost burnt while the bottom was still very pale, and the plates on my old iron were not removeable for cleaning, so time for a replacement. I selected the Krups Waffle Iron for 3 reasons: 1. Removable plates 2. Relatively low cost and 3. Reasonably positive reviews. Made my first batch of waffles this morning. The Krups waffle iron is somewhat slow to heat up compared to my old iron -- took about 8 or 9 minutes to reach temperature at a setting of 5 (max), but that's okay -- I just start heating it up while I do other stuff like make coffee and finish final mixing of my waffle batter. Regarding the quality of the waffle, even on the highest setting (5), the waffles come out sort of light medium brown, and were not as crisp as the ones from my old iron. I only made enough batter for one round of waffles. In the future, if you want crisp, well browned waffles, I recommend leaving the waffles in the iron past the time when the alarm sounds until there is little or no steam coming out, even on the max setting. Finally, clean up was a breeze with the removable plates -- I am really happy with this. Plates are easy to remove and reinstall. Some reviews mentioned that the handle gets hot -- the handle remained cool to the touch, however I only made one round, and it's possible that if you make many waffles, the handle could get somewhat hot due to escaping steam. The alarm that sounds when the waffles are ready is loud, but not excessively so (my old one was much louder as are our smoke detectors), but I think that is a highly individual opinion. My husband can't hear it in the next room, but I can hear it on the other side of the house! All in all, it's a good product and worth the price.

Great Waffle Iron!
My son wanted a waffle iron for Christmas so I went researching options. I have three, each producing one large waffle at a time, because when I entertain a group one waffle at a time (@ 7 min. each) is not sufficient. I found this waffle iron and was so impressed I put it on my wish list as well. When I purchased it, the iron cost just under $56; I notice it is now selling for over $100 -- watch for lower prices! Update December 27, 2019. STILL love this waffle iron! It makes great waffles. I use a higher setting because we like them a little crispy. Also, the irons pop out and can be washed in the dishwasher, which is a HUGE benefit. I still have my old single-waffle irons to add to my Krups when I'm cooking for a crowd; they are a bear to clean; the irons don't pop out and it is very time consuming to wipe clean with a sponge and paper towels. LOVE my Krups! I made my first batch this morning and am very pleased! A few things: 1. I wiped down and then seasoned the iron as instructed. 2. I sprayed the iron with Pam before the first batch. With my other waffle irons I usually only need to spray before the first batch and then not again for the duration of cooking. However, with this iron, the second batch stuck -- not horrendously so (I was able to pull them off, but they tore a little). So I sprayed the iron before cooking each subsequent batch and it worked well. 3. The instructions say to close the lid, but they don't specify whether to close all the way to where it locks down. For my other waffle irons I gently lowered the lid (didn't squish it all the way shut), so I was afraid to lock down this lid. However halfway through the baking of the first batch I realized I needed to shut it all the way (instructions should specify this). 4. I started on setting "3" (medium) and the waffles were not crisp enough so I left them in another minute or so. The next batch I cooked on "4" and still wasn't satisfied with the crisp factor. The rest I cooked on "5" and loved the results! 5. Make sure you don't put more than 1/2 cup of batter in each section. It takes approximately 7 minutes to cook each batch. 6. I LOVE that the iron plates are removable for easy cleaning! This is definitely not the case on my old waffle irons. Love, love, love this feature! A single recipe of my Belgian waffles made 7 large round waffles in my other irons. When I cook for a group I always make a double batch. The double batch recipe made 24 waffles in this iron. Make a ton and freeze them in large Zip Loc freezer bags, separating layers with waxed paper. Just toast them right out of the freezer (don't microwave them!). My recipe for Belgian waffles (it's the bomb!). This recipe makes 12 waffles (3 batches of 4). Figure on 2 - 3 waffles per person; make a double batch for a large crowd. 2 cups light sour cream 2 lg. egg yolks (save whites!) 1 cup low fat milk 5 tbl. butter, melted, slightly cooled 4 tsp. sugar 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 cups bread flour 3 egg whites (dump the last yolk) 1. Combine all ingredients except bread flour and egg whites in a large mixing bowl and stir to combine. 2. Stir in the bread flour, just until flour is moistened (don't try to remove every lump). 3. Beat 3 egg whites until stiff and gently fold into batter. 5. Spray top and bottom of Belgian waffle iron with Pam and heat. When the iron is ready, spoon in ½ cup of batter, and close and lock the lid. When iron indicates waffle is done, remove and repeat.

Would purchase again.
Very easy to remove, clean, and reinstall griddles. Manufacturer makes the operation and function of item simple to use. User friendly and basically error proof. Convenient signal tone when device reaches set dial heat settings. Baking results as expected, per individual heat dial settings. Standard 2 feet power cord, so we use an appropriately gauged extension to allow using the waffle maker in the middle of kitchen island.

High quality waffle iron
I was reluctant to purchase this because I don't love the thickness of "Belgian" waffles. I am super happy with this waffle iron. It is heavy duty, heavy weight, and seems very well constructed. The waffles are not super thick like classic Belgian waffles. I love the fact that the grates are removable and dishwasher safe. It is extremely easy to use and clean. It is on the large size. We found that one waffle (4 squares) was plenty for two of us. It comes with recipes and ideas for waffles.
