Pyrex Portable Large Cold/Hot Pack (2-Pack) - Made in USA

I've been sending my kid to school with homemade versions of the school hot lunches. This has been an absolute God send! I heat the hot pack in the microwave for 2:50 mins, then another 15 or so until it puffs up, remove with oven mitts, and put it in his insulated lunchbox right under his stainless steel bento box (we have the "LunchBots" brand). I was worried it would be too big, but it's not, it scrunches in there perfectly. I cover the hot pack with a paper towel because it's ugly... but boy does it stay hot! I put some leftovers in there yesterday and he said it was like eating straight from the restaurant, perfectly warm. HIGHLY recommend!! My only concern is how durable they are for everyday use - because should this thing ever burst open while I'm taking it out of the microwave, I could get burned pretty badly. Curious how long they have lasted for others?? So far so good, but it's only been about a month. It gets used 5x/week. I guess I should be alternating since it came in a 2 pack... maybe that way they don't get stressed to the point of breaking as fast... but anyway, hopefully it never will break!

The cold/hot packs are great—I've used them before and that's why I purchased them again, HOWEVER, the shipping of them was horrible!! There was only a clear plastic bag holding them to begin with, and they shipped it in a SUPER-thin paper shipping bag!! I'm SHOCKED they did not break or get popped while in transit, which would've meant goo all over the place. And now I'm not sure of their integrity, as the other item in the same package had a crushed box. This was worthy of an Amazon box, but obviously the shipping dept. was willing to take a chance.

I bought these as a replacement for some that came with my Pyrex Portables (the hot pack exploded in the microwave). I've used it only once and it did a great job keeping my dish hot on a 2-hour drive (of course, it was hot from the oven, as well). I hope it will hold up for many uses. I thought it was a good value and I like that I can either heat it up OR freeze it -- I don't have to use it for one OR the other, the way I had to with my old packs.

I haven’t used this set yet as I just received it but if it is as good as previous ones I’ve had I’ll be delighted. Purchased because of my past success with this brand easily keeping things both hot/cold.

I couldn't be happier with the Amazon recommendation to pair this Pyrex Large Hot/Cold pack with my Pyrex casserole dish. It's proven to be invaluable during potlucks. On numerous occasions, it has maintained the temperature of my dishes, whether hot or cold. Although I quickly learned that for optimal freezing, they need to be placed singularly and flat, once I followed this advice, the results were exceptional. When used with my Pyrex casserole dish and a non-Pyrex travel container, the combination kept my dish warm for four hours before serving. Conveniently, I store them alongside the travel container in a kitchen cabinet, ready for their next use. And I’m amazed it took me all these years to realize how indispensable they are.

Nice replacement packs for my pyrex carrier. They can be either hot or cold which is nice.

My pyrex carrying case is 23 years old! It still works, but the original hot/cold packs have lost their vitality. I purchased these as replacements, and they work great. In addition to keeping hot casseroles and baked mac and cheese warm while transporting to family dinners, I use the hot packs to keep my soups warm when I carry lunch to work. I don't typically use the cold pack, but I imagine they'd work good when frozen, too.

They are great to keep food warm or cold in the insulated carrier.

Too expensive for what they do.

Froze the product and used only once. Corner tore and spilled the gel all over casserole base. Very disappointed due to the price and name.
