HOLOSUN 407K/507K Series, Dot or Multi-Reticle, Black/FDE/Black-Out/Brown

Where to begin? Whenever you buy budget, or less expensive optics you always have to be skeptical if you're a smart buyer. If you're serious about quality, you really don't have to go any further than Holosun. I will admit, that this is the first time I ever bought a HOLOSUN product, and I have pretty much stuck to higher end, or if I was going to buy budget I looked at o l i g h t. For example, this has a shake awake or even better than that, I would call it a motion sensor. I think that's what they call it as well. What I mean is, as soon as you pick it up, the optic turns on and is ready to rock abd roll. It also turns on in the last setting that you had tuned in. This includes brightness, zeroing and clarity. After 10 minutes of non-use, the optic automatically turns off. I can't imagine anyone not liking that, but they do allow you to lengthen that time to 30 minutes and on to over an hour and a half and then even turn the feature off, although I don't have any idea why anybody would ever do that. To be perfectly honest, I was skeptical at first. I am a believer now. Let me address one elephant in the room. This optic does not come with any kind of a mounting plate those are firearms specific and you will have to purchase it separately they run between 30 and $50. They are titanium, in my case I needed to mount it to a Hellcat, and the plate was perfect! This is no slight on the manufacturer because they would have to include many, many different types of plates to mount different Optics across many platforms. It is irritating to have to buy a separate mounting plate but I completely understand why. Now there's another manufacturer out there that claims that you don't need a mounting plate for theirs however I've learned a lesson from this particular manufacturer in fact I actually have an email from that manufacturer with their similar product that's like $100 less however, there are some issues with regard to the perfect fit and he told me that I should use a tach hammer to hammer the site into place this is not this manufacturer but the manufacturer who I referred to earlier in this review. So this super bright Marvel doesn't need any of that you'll never have to whack this with a hammer or anything else. Kudos to the manufacturer however they gained the technology, (I know that this troubles some folks myselfincludedin some instances), however, they have improved on the technology, not merely mimicked the technology. In my humble opinion, this is probably worth about twice what it's listed for. It has an awesome build quality there's no question about it, the brightness we'll go as bright as you could possibly ever need and you can dim it in the same way depending on your environment. I can go on and on but I won't thank you very much this is an awesome purchase if I could give this 10 Stars I would!

Exactly as described. Works fantastic. Easy to install and easy to use. Unfortunately I needed an adapter plate for it to fit but thats not on them. Great sight and better price than anywhere else. Highly recommend

Bought the 407K-X2 6MOA red dot for my GF's S&W Equalizer and it fits perfectly, no adapter required, but I did have to buy different mounting screws than the ones supplied.I guess the shake awake is working because the dot is on every time I pick it up and look. Have not actually left it in a position where I can see the dot to make sure it shuts off after a time, but I've not had to replace the battery yet and it's been 2.5 years as of this review.The dot is plenty big enough to easily find and see and at the typical ranges you would expect to use a pistol, it doesn't cover so much of the target that you cant see the target.I do wish it had the adaptive brightness, but then it probably wouldn't fit as well as it does.

This is my 3rd Holosun purchase and I couldn’t be happier. This one I got specifically for my EDC. It’s a reflex which means it is not enclosed and sealed off to dust, rain and debris, but it’s still super reliable.The battery life is insane, boasting around 50,000 hours - that’s like 4-5 years. So if you have the dot at a moderate brightness, and the “shake awake” setting on, which puts the dot to sleep after 10 minutes and instantly turns on at the sign of any movement whatsoever, you can change the battery once per year or once every two years and still be confident it’ll be at the ready when you need it.This was essentially zeroed out the box for my p365 but it does come with a tool to adjust windage etc if need be, simple clicks. I recommend a laser bore sighter in red to properly align the dot if you need one. Other than that it should hold zero easily because of the side panel battery compartment, which means you can change the battery without having to remove the Holosun.This thing is durable, has a great bright and accurate laser with a low co-witness depending on your irons, it’s easy to use with simple controls, and it’s durable as heck!The only small caveats that would make me want another model would be:1. If I wanted enclosed2. A different Holosun with the solar backup panel (this does not have it but it’s a VERY slim and small reflex)3. Variation of the dot (this is 6moa green dot only, no crosshairs or circles)Well built, affordable and high quality. You can’t go wrong.

Fast shipping. Even with an astigmatism I’m able to get a pretty clear dot, still somewhat blurry but a lower brightness setting helped alot! Easy mounting!

The site came quickly and fit very well. Everything works well, just wish it was a 3 mil dot. It feels like it is built like a tank and will take a beating.
