I'd say about once a month do a deep cleaning of the fountain and rinse out or replace the filter. More often if you see gunk in the water!

Hello, Yes this is compatible with the WF100.

Does it filter out chlorine?

I don’t believe that it would. It’s not that type of filter. It’s more like a charcoal filter that you use in a coffee pot
