Great beginning discussion on Executive function AKA organizing skills
Great starting point workbook for discussing executive function (what it is and why we need it) with ADHD kids. Good for building vocabulary around executive functions of the brain and reinforcing the organization tools to manage ADHD. Pages are thick and are perforated for removal if you want to. It has stories/examples of kids that are organized and don’t struggle, and kids who do. I would recommend adding personal flair to the story of examples from your own kids struggles.

Great content. My kids didn’t like it.
I purchased the Executive Functioning Workbook for my kids at the beginning of the summer to help them build their executive functioning skills. Each day, I read a chapter to them, and we would discuss it together. The book has great content and provides valuable guidance, but it just didn’t hold the attention of my 11-year-old and gifted 9-year-old. My son even commented that the term “executive functioning skills” sounded weird and intimidating. I think the title alone might turn some kids off, even though the material is very important. While it didn’t quite connect with my children, I still think it’s a well-done resource and would recommend it for families whose kids might be more open to the topic.

Great if your kid is in public/private school. If you homeschool, look for another book.
I ended up giving this to my teen since the book I got for teens was too much for her. When you have executive functioning difficulties, some things that seem fine to most people can feel like a lot to you. I do wish there wasn't as much focus on school situations. Not every child attends public school, and not every PS student has to use EF skills in that setting. Many situations/experiences in the workbook do not apply. We've had to alter our interpretation from "school" to "life" (even though she does attend classes outside the home). I'm sure the book is great for PS kids, but I was really hoping for a more general, real world style workbook.

Awesome return on a small investment!
Got these for my grandkids to work on over the summer. They completed them and when they went back to school applied what they learned. Two got straight A's on their first report card and the other got A-B honor roll! I am very very pleased with this purchase and would definitely recommend!👌 ***Edit/Update*** All three made Alpha Honor Roll!!! 🎖

Interesting info but
This book has interesting info for parents and children. It seems to be a book you read with your children and try out the strategies as a team (to support and better understand what the ADHDer is going through) and not a ‘workbook’ that children/teenagers read and use on their own.

Maybe for teens but not younger kids
Workbooks aren't for kids. They aren't going to read this and diligently read/write. It may give parents/caregivers some ideas but kids aren't doing workbooks. Maybe teens will but not younger.
