Does the job and breaks down for storage
I bought 2 to support my cover on my 19 footer. While they don't "Adjust" you add 12" sections (they are the pole) I found 12" too short for my front support and 24" way to long. I used a pipe cutter to cut a 3" section and added it in for 15" It fits perfect. Because of the inserts that connect the sections the minimum length for a section is 2" but you can shorten another section and make it any length you want. I break them down and store each support in a zip-lock bag, but you could glue pole together with ABS glue if storage space isn't an issue. I found the base and domed top to be the right size to keep the support in place and not damage the cover. $15 easy to setup what more can you ask for. The top has 3 tie points which I didn't need but the idea is you can tie a strap (Not included) to another high point and make a tent of sorts. and reduce the number of support poles you need. I think if you did that you would need to tie off the back side of the support to keep from pulling it over.

Don't even attempt it
This thing is literally awful. It's cheaply made, barely stays together, falls over, not stable, the list goes on and on. I bought this to help cover my Jon boat and everytime you get the tarp slight tight over it, the pole either bends or just slides out from under it. I finally got it tight last night before a storm and this morning it appears the wind blew and moved the tarp a little and of course this thing collapsed into about 10 pieces and there's a ton of water on te boat. I even tried PVC glue to hold it together and still nothing.

OK, but not great
I just put this in the transom of my small fishing boat to keep the cover from sagging and filling up my boat in the winter season. I already had a telescoping metal one that I use mid-ship. I think this one will work for me, but I sure wouldn't buy another one. The picture is pretty accurate and I don't feel misled in any way, but it's not a very high quality or stable construction. It's plastic tubes that are about 8" or so and you stack them together to get the desired height for your needs. Unfortunately, much about about two sections, it becomes fairly unstable. It would be OK if you put straps (not included) through the slots in the top of the mushroom. My recommendation would be to keep looking and find a better quality one unless you are keeping it very short.

Boat is well protected
When I bought the boat the seller had a PVC frame to support the boat cover. This is so much better. I found the poles to lean and flex under any pressure, but, I placed the pole inside PVC pipe & secured at top and bottom with a sheet metal screw. I purchased 3/4 in nylon strapping and plastic buckles with slides Blue Elf 10 PCS 3/4"(19mm) Black Side Release Whistle Buckles for Paracord Bracelets Strap with Free Cable Organizer I used my sewing machine to make the loop ends, attach the buckles, and loop through the slots in the mushrooms. The cover that came with the boat had numerous stains from puddling. I purchased a new Classic Accessories cover which included one support pole. Boat Cover Support Poles
Great value for the money. The poles come in sections so you can make them as high as you need. If you use all of the sections the pole tends to want to bend and buckle when under load. To make this a really great support pole, cut some pvc pipe with a large enough diameter to go over the pole sections. Cut the pcv pipe long enough to go from the bottom of the pole up to the top support cap. In this way the pole cannot come apart or bend under load. Four poles with the extra pvc pipe works great on my 20 ft pontoon boat for winter storage. You will want to tie the poles from four directions to keep them in place, but don't buy the straps that they offer with the poles as 1/4 diameter nylon rope works much better and fits through the slots on the top cap of the pole.

Flimsy and cheap.
Very poor quality. I've bought a similar item at Cabell for about $8 more and used it for years with no problem until it was lost. Saw these and figured they'd be the same and bonus, less money as I would expect from Amazon.com. first shipment one of the orders was missing half the items in the box, thankfully Amazon is great to fix. Once I was able to use them, immediately I noticed they were much more flimsy than what I'd had before, but never the less gave them a try. They will hold the cover, but once you get a little rain and wind it's over. They won't hold up unless you run straps through them. We had a decent monsoon storm, went out to check on the boat the next day and the poles were laying down and the cover was filled with a large pool of water. After that the poles wouldn't hardly stay straight under their own weight. My opinion.....save your money!

Listen to the reviews this will never last and is a piece of junk
This product is horrible don’t waste your time, I thought maybe people were not using it right maybe overloading it, it’s 5 piece of flimsy plastic not schedule 40 1 inch pipe it’s thin and will bend, rain shine or snow. It’s been 3 weeks and it’s already bowed, I also used a few straps to stabilize it and it’s still bending, so save your money and get something stronger. Seriously this was a total waste of time and money.

Not what I expected
This item is just a plastic pole that comes in pieces. I thought it may be a bit better quality for the price... It is really think and light... This item does not seem to be worth the price paid but at the same time it is as described... I did use it but it just keeps falling over because it literally weighs nothing... have not attached any straps to try to hold it in place... Cant see the quality until you get it... Just my opinion...

Dollar Store Quality, ZERO Stars
Finally, after a long refit of my pontoon boat I was able to test install my new boat cover and these support poles. Just in time as it was supposed to rain that afternoon and evening. To say that they were a disaster is an understatement. Although they were easy to assemble they just as easily fell apart. It took a while but we finally got the cover in place and the support poles doing what they were supposed to do. To make a long story short, the next morning we went down to the boat to see how they held up. Well they did not all three were down on the deck, the boat cover full of water and 2 holes in the boat cover where the sharp ends of the pointy connectors had pierced the cover. This has to be the worst and most useless product I have ever purchased. I recommend that this product be avoided at all cost.

Great items
Excellent items the only fault is that they are too light so kept falling over when pulling cover on so had to make a good base out of wood to screw them onto, but I would certainly buy again
