Gave to my 10 year old granddaughter. She picked up on the knitting pretty quick but attention span at 10 was about 10min+ but she came back to it. Every once in a while so we will see if finished by next year. She at least learned how to knit. Great product. Very happy with instructions and material.

I used every bit of the yarn and got a great and warm scarf that I can wear three ways: 1) fold it in half, wrap around neck doubled then put both ends through the folded part, 2) Start by putting the middle against your throat, bring both sides in back, cross them and bring them forward and 3) From position 2 lift up the front and use it as a headband. The pockets are great for carrying things up and down the stairs staying hands free. I really love it. The con is that the #6 bulky yarn is difficult to weave in and tie off neatly, however all the kit contents are very useable in spite of the fact that the kit that was sold to me for the new price had clearly already been opened. With just 12 stitches on size 13 needles it whips up quickly. I think you'll like it too, especially if you already knit!

While we like the kit there’s no actual tutorial video on the channel listed. They have some base videos which help aid kids. Outside of that you can buy some yarn larger needles and find a better kid friendly pattern on YouTube and have it cost less than the kit.

I took a knitting class and HATED IT! Everyone else loved it so it was obviously just not for me. I needed to go to an event where there was knitting so I got this kit. L O V E I T!!! I finished the scarf with ease and the mission was accomplished. The needles are nice and big for my 60+ year old hands and the yarn is perfect. Highly recommend this beautiful item.

Granddaughter seemed to be pleased with it

This is a sweet kit with everything you need to learn to knit. The age is 9 which I think is appropriate...even 10 might be better. I wouldn't say any younger than 9 as it is difficult to learn to hold the needles and the wool which is key to learning.

My granddaughter is over the moon with this kit. It has everything she needs to knit just like grandma does! We are both enjoying making this easy project together.
