This is a very good tool for takeoffs. Very accurate and easy to set scales and roll around on plan pages.

My husband is a contractor and this works perfect for him while reading plans!

This is handy for doing takeoffs on plans. It has plenty of preset scale lengths to use and some customizable scales for when you are taking off poorly scaled plans. It has your basic length, area volume measurements, a counting function and you can convert units. There is a rubber grip where you hold it and it helps keep your hand steady. The little notch on the bottom goes just above the paper so you can get precise measurements (see photo). This version is non rechargeable and takes two CR2032 batteries. If you are unable to takeoff using a computer I’d recommend this.

If you deal with plans this is great to have. Easily calculate footage sq footage of rooms and much more. I love this thing and have with me all the time on site. Great to use when mapping out runs for pricing and sizing wire/pipe. Use to check measurements when laying out

Comes with a very nice case. Good instructions. This can be very sensitive and accurate when on job site. Specially getting down to some of the smaller fractions, but makes things quick for accuracy.

For us lazy folks, it's easier to measure linear feet on drawings with this scale rather than an actual scale ruler. This one has tons of options and works flawlessly out of the box!

After 7 years of steady use (I am an estimator at a lumber supply company) this still working great. I have measured takeoffs with it during the Covid19 boom in house construction so its seen 1000's of plans for single family homes, and multi unit condo blocks. A co worker has an earlier model that's average 15 years old. He's only had to 1 time replace the wheel. I have not had to do a wheel replacement, but if I do need to there is a replacement kit you can purchase. Highly recommend this tool.

I've been in construction for over 20 years and was sceptical when a colleague mentioned this product. But having used it for over a year now, I think it's amazing. When you have a quick job to price, this makes the take offs so easy and quick, you wonder how you managed before. I still use a trusty scale ruler for some things, but this little tool does most of the work. The ability to set your own scale takes all the problems out of odd scaled drawings or drawings printed the wrong size. As long as you know one dimension, you can measure the rest. I wouldn't recommend it for accurate works, but for tender quantities it is brilliant. Well worth the investment.
