Great Sound, Simple Setup, and Perfect for Everyday Use
These speakers are compact, easy to set up, and sound much better than I expected for the price. I love that they connect with a single USB cable and don't require a separate power source. The sound is clear, the volume controls are convenient, and they work perfectly for music, videos, and video calls. A great upgrade from built-in laptop speakers.

Works With Vista Home Premium! Just Plug and Play!
Getting a new laptop some time ago with Vista Home Premium is one of my nearly daily regrets. Vista is so finicky, so user-unfriendly and nearly adverse to any additions (software or hardware) we have attempted to add. I was heartened to receive these speakers, noting it said "Vista compatible" on the box. We have a 17" Acer laptop that we were hoping to watch movies on at times, however the existing laptop speakers were totally unacceptable as far as any volume when playing any DVDs. These however have made life wonderful! The sound is very decent (especially considering I paid less than $11 for them which included Free SuperSaver Shipping). I plugged them into a USB port and up popped a little window in the bottom right-hand section of the computer screen saying the system was installing them. Fifteen seconds later, the box indicated they had been installed successfully. Upon inserting a movie DVD, the sound was not that loud at first, however was very adequate (and a huge improvement over the speakers in the laptop). However getting into the Control Panel (Sound), I found a new addition there for the recently installed Speakers ~ where I was easily able to add "Equaliziation" and the option of a few other settings ~ plus adjust the sound of them to full volume. Now, we seldom need to turn them up past the halfway point (either by using the controls on one of the speakers or using the on-screen controls). The "Equalization" option also seems to give them more oooomph/depth and seemed to add a little bass to them as well. We have no problem with the sound of the music played on many of the DVD movies or any other sound for that matter. These are not high quality stereo speakers, they will not come close to imitating the sound/output of a boombox, but for the money, they put out a sound and volume far more than what we were expecting. The USB connection allows the freedom of not having to plug them into a wall outlet, the wires on them (speaker to speaker and from the one speaker to the USB port) seem ample and then some for our particular needs. And they are a nice little size that is proprtionate to the laptop. Also stable, not top heavy or wobbly, they stay where you put them. This is one of those products that I wish I had had the foresight to purchase long ago as they have definitely added to our DVD movie watching enjoyment. Amazon shipping as usual was fast and efficient. I plan on purchasing more of these for our other laptops as well.

Not bad
Its size is perfect for my PC table and worth its price. Not too big or small and looks smart. Sound quality is okay but its not very loud and its an issue when watching any movie. Even with full volume on speakers its not enough.

Great value!
Obviously not audiophile quality but they sounds great for normal applications and casual listening. Would recommend and buy again.

Just fine for "business" applications, which is what they're intended for.
I started a new job recently. The company IT policy is unusual... while they only supply bare-bones systems, you can "upgrade" on your own if you like. For example, while I got a powerhouse CAD workstation, it came without speakers (and only onboard sound). Of course, audible feedback is crucial to so many different computer activities, it's nearly impossible to work without hearing your "chimes" and "beeps" and so forth. So, I needed something. I came to Amazon, shopped around a bit, and found these. I tried to check them out on Logitech's website, but found that they weren't listed there. Well, they ARE, but not on the "consumer" side. See, these are specifically part of the "business solutions" side... they're intended for "office" use. And on that basis, they're very, very effective. The sound quality is acceptable, but by no means could it ever be described as "high-fidelity." Nor is it intended to be. And the maximum volume level is quite low, particularly compared to the big 5.1 system I have in my home office. But it's just about perfect for an office environment. You get a very basic sound system... which entirely bypasses the "on-board sound" as it's a self-contained system. It provide good clarity (teleconferences are crystal clear, for example), but you lose the highs and lows which you might want for listening to music or watching movies... or playing games. There are two issues I have with these, and they're relatively easy to work around. First... my desk has two monitors, but the wire between the two speakers isn't long enough to span both. I had to cut the wire and splice in an extension. Easy to do... the hardest part was finding wire which was suitable for the job. But it worked out just fine for me. Second... these have the issues that every single Windows "USB Sound" solution which uses the default drivers will have. (Devices with custom drivers will often, but not always, avoid this issue... for example, my Logitech keyboard at home has a sound chip built in which doesn't suffer from this issue (but I don't use it, anyway) and my G-35 headphones also are USB but have custom drivers. The issue is with the default "Windows" USB audio drivers, and how they handle volume. The "overall system volume" control is very nearly useless... and that's what the volume buttons on the right-hand unit control. As other reviews have stated... you have two options, really... top-volume level, or "off." That's not an issue with the speakers, it's a programming error from Microsoft. This isn't a HUGE issue, however. The "volume control" does provide settings for individual programs, which are in percentages of the set "system level" volume level, and they work just fine. And the OS will remember where you left those settings, so it's really a "one time" fix for each program. For those who play games, and so forth, this would be a royal pain. But for those who are using this in an office environment, as I am, this proves pretty much painless... so far, I've only had to adjust the volume levels for "Windows Media Player," in fact... because that's the only thing I use which does much more than provide "beeps" and "chimes" and so forth for audible feedback. If you have serious needs... I do NOT recommend these. But if you need a nice, decent, serviceable set of speakers for a WORKING environment... a student computer for doing schoolwork, or an office computer... these are just fine. That, after all, is the intended target user base anyway!

Pleasantly surprised
First of all I wasn't expecting much from these speakers for $9. I have a nice 5.1 set with a great subwoofer in my computer room and I certainly wasn't expecting any comparison. I watch movies at work overnight, either YouTube or downloaded, on my laptop and with the background noise at work it was hard to hear the laptop speakers. Some laptops have better speakers, but I figured buying some cheap speakers is cheaper than buying a new laptop. These work perfect for my situation. The sound is nice and clear, and can get loud enough for normal listening. I even tried some music and they are pretty decent. If you buy these speakers expecting much more, you will be disappointed. One thing I was worried about, I use Linux and these speakers don't have the usual 3.5 headphone jack, they are digital, which means the sound card is basically built in to the speakers. So the sound transfers from the computer to the speakers through USB, as well as the power. I didn't read enough before I bought these to know that, and Linux can be finicky. But I was able to go into the sound mixer and change the output device to USB speakers and they work perfectly. Anyone using Windows won't have any problems, this would probably be done automatically when you plug in the USB cable. 1 less cord to get tangled up is a good thing. I would recommend these speakers to anyone who is not looking to shake the walls, but just requires decent sound at a great price. And they are small enough to pack nicely in my backpack along with my laptop.

Compact, easy install, usb powered, VOLUME ALWAYS MAX!!!
I will try to make this review as detailed as possible so other users do not fall into the mistake I did. At my office, we are not provided with pc speakers. I like to hear my incoming mail notification, hence I decided to buy a pair of cheap speakers. I bought these because I liked the fact that they were small, very cheap, and connected through a USB cord. - Aesthetics: The speakers are nice looking, sturdy, easy to handle and setup on your desk. - Drivers and connections (Part 1 - The good) They have only one cord, the USB, which goes into one speaker, and a second cable connecting the first speaker to the second. This is good because you do not clutter you desk with more wires. The speakers start working as soon as you plug in the USB cable. Windows found the drivers immediately. - The sound Unlike other reviews, mine did not rattle in any way. The sound is obviously (by far) not as good as that from my Bose Soundlink, but is good enough to increase the sound quality of my laptop. They provide enough bass and far richer sound than that coming from my laptop speakers. I would venture to say that they are more than enough to watch a movie in your pc or to listen to music. However, if you are looking for high quality sound, these speakers are not the way to go. But again, these are more than enough if you are not expecting too much. - Drivers and connections (Part 2 - The bad) After installing the drivers, Windows required a reboot. So I did. After restarting the system I noticed that the volume was too high. So I turned it to the least possible setting (Level 1/100) hoping to get a mild, smooth notification every time I had incoming mail. Surprise! The volume on windows is not working! They still sound as if they were maxed out! Windows alerts sound as high as the speakers allow them. So do CDs, youtube videos, etc. With youtube, windows media player, and other programs one has to control the volume setting through the application itself. As per Windows notifications, THERE IS NO WAY OF TURNING THE VOLUME DOWN!!! - Recommendation If you do not mind that the volume on your computer is always at max setting, buy these speakers. If you have any reason, any reason whatsoever, to turn the volume down, then DO NOT BUY THEM. They claim to have volume control on the front of one speaker, but that is just like manipulating the volume setting with your mouse on the windows taskbar. THus, still no way to turn the volume down. In other words: The windows volume setting goes from 0 to 100 (0 being mute, and 100 being max). You can activate the volume icon in the windows notification setting on the taskbar to turn the volume up or down with your mouse. After connecting these speakers, the volume, regardless of the setting on the taskbar, will be high. The volume on the speakers will not vary much (Bearly noticeable) as you change the windows volume from 1 to 100. Obviously, if you set it to 0, it's mute. Therefore, you have basically two volume options with these speakers: i) Mute; ii) Max (With a small range as if you would vary the windows volume from 95 to 100 on the taksbar). After this experience I decided to search for a similar pair of speakers that have an analog volume control on them. That way I can setup the windows volume at a reasonable level (50-60 percent) and make the final adjustment using the volume knob on the speakers. Such as the Logitech Stereo Speakers Z120, USB Powered (980-000524) . I will not try to return these, just because they are so cheap, that I do not think is worth going through all the trouble. I guess I will just give them to a friend. Final Recomendation: DO NOT buy these speakers. Instead try looking for similar USB speakers WITH an analog volume control knob. Hope this helps someone out there! Let me know if you have any questions.

Logitech S-150 USB Digital Speakers Set
I ordered these online form Amazon.com about a week ago and they arrived fast and on time. After reading the positive feedback from other buyers I decided to take a chance and on these inexpensive speaker system. My first thought was that these speakers was going to be some crappy $11 speaker set with a thinny sound which I'd would use anyways since I could not expect much for $11.54 shipped. Boy was I wrong! They arrived packed nicely by Amazom.com packing service which is always fun to open. These were brand new in a Logitech box which says works with Windows VISTA. I was a little worried since I am running Windows 7 64 bit. The set up was so easy and it's a plug and play by USB cord. The right speaker has a volume up and down and also a mute button. I set it on the loudest and use my computer volume to adjust how loud I want them to sound. As soon as I inserted the USB to my front USB ports, the drivers loaded really quick and all was set within a minute or so. The sound on these babies are GREAT! I could not expect more from a mini $11.54 speaker system. It does not sound like a boom box but more of a nice sounding TV speakers win a great tonal sound. The bass is perfect and not booming and the highs as perfect as well. I am very happy with these and I can tuen them on and off by just pulling out the USB from my front ports which is about a foot away from me. The quality of these are pretty nice as well. It is made out of a plastic black shell which is kind of light weight and has a material cloth over the front speaker portion. They sound and look more then it cost. Listening to YouTube and sports is mainly what I use it for and this is PERFECT without breaking the bank. If you want booming bass, then this is not the speaker type for you. If you want great sound (not thinny) then buy these without any hesitation. Perfect for those who bought a new computer that does not come with any speakers. I paid $11.54 and also received FREE SHIPPING on these to Hawaii. I would recomend these to all those on a budget who want convinient USB plug and play great sounding speakers priced under $12 shipped. 5 STARS for this one.

Worst speakers I ever had
Does not give any stronger volume than the weak built-in speakers of my laptop, although it definitely gives a better bass. Can't properly control the volume, either; even at 1 out of 100, it is quite loud. It is cheap, but even at that price it seems to be a waste of money.

Sweet little speakers
Easy to hook up, worked right away and give great sound. You know from their size and USB power situation that they won't have ground-pounding bass or cutting edge clarity, but they still put out excellent sound quality and volume. I had trouble with them cutting out at high volume or when the bass kicked in in a song, but found out that was with them plugged into the front "easy access" USB ports. Once I switched the plug around to one on the back of the computer, they work flawlessly, so heads up on that.
