D'Addario PL016 Plain Steel Guitar Single String, .016

Can't go wrong with D'Addario! I need high E strings. I play hard and they break. Just that simple, in order to get the sound I want and need, I need .008-.009 high E's. These are great, and they can be used on acoustic or electric. A rehearsal dream. While full sets are required for performances, these singles will get you through rehearsal with flying colors!

Works like a champ for keeping in your bag. E strings pop all the time people! Lol These strings are super reliable for sounding good enough for most and last. Decent feel too. D'addarios are standard for a reason people.

I don't know why some steel string sizes are much more expensive than others. And I'm talking sizes in between two others, below the 0.5 mm thickness (PL018 gauge and below). Less than $1 is a great price. Some that are fractional gauges cost $4 to $6. Anyway, these are excellent quality and they count towards your shipping cost threshold. They're a great way to increase your total amount to bump your shipment to $35 for free shipping.

[MAJOR UPDATE] It costs only $0.69 now, which is fair for one string. It became an Add-On item, so you can't buy it alone, which I guess is also fair, considering the price. I'm upgrading this from 1 star to 4 stars, as this is a quality product. Not quite 5 stars, because the other deal Ernie Ball Single String .016 6-Pack is still better, $6.99 for six strings without the Add-On requirement. **************** Original 1-star review **************** My bad - judging by the $5.68 price tag, I assumed in haste that this was a 5-pack, as this price is similar to the 5-packs the other gauges like D'Addario PL012-5 Plain Steel Guitar Single String, .012 5-pack , PL011, etc. come in. I overlooked that this is literally a SINGLE string, and it says so clearly in the product description. But, c'mon, $5.68 for a single string?? What a rip off. I'd be better off if I ordered a complete set. I wish I knew there is a better deal out there, D'Addario NYXL Plain Steel Guitar Strings, .016, 2 singles per pack - a 2-pack for $4.65 (still might be better off with a whole set though). UPDATE: Here's a good deal on a .016 multipack: Ernie Ball Nickel Plain Single Guitar String .016 Gauge 6-Pack - $3.79 + $3.49 shipping. For some reason, the .016 gauge single string products are hard to find on Amazon (and they are barely available at all elsewhere).

D'Darrio strings are amazing. It's funny, I actually bought these because I used to have Ernie Balls and the high E kept on snapping on bends. I thought that it was normal for it to break so often, so when I made the switch to D'Darrio I bought this pack to cover for whenever my E strings broke. I haven't had to take a string out of this pack since I bought it months ago, and I've changed my strings out several times since then. When/if it does break though, this will come in handy.

Excellent quality

These strings were a good addition to my gig bag, for replacing the high E string after a breakage, when I don't need to replace the whole set. On my Gretsch for double jet, this stays in tune well, and meets all the standards I would expect in terms of how it looks, sounds, plays and fits.

Las uso normalmente para el instituto. Pido estos packs porque van genial para mis alumnos. Tiene buena calidad de sonido. No son muy gruesas y no molestan a los dedos. Esta marca también la uso en cuerdas para instrumentos de cuerda frotada. Seguiré pidiendo más de estas cuando se rompan.
