ZOECON Petcor 2 Flea & Tick Spray 16oz

Effectiveness: Wow. Fleas dropping off my cats within minutes. Fleas obviously work in cycles. One treatment of ANY bug killer will never rid you of the bugs the first time. It takes a bit for the eggs to hatch and die, too. But I have not seen any huge adult fleas. The ones i do find are weakly trying to walk and cannot jump. Smells while wet and dry: This does have a very strong chemical smell (at first, please read on), but it is cat safe. I own birds, as well, and I took them outside to treat the cats. The vet said to never use any kind of chemical, or bug treatment near birds, ever. After the smell was completely gone in the house, about 1.5 hrs later, in total, I brought my birds back in. Once it dries on the cat, it no longer smells like chemical. It honestly smells like oregano, herbs, or something when you sniff your kitty! Haha, sounds odd, but it is earthy, once dry. Th cats did NOT try to lick it or groom. Reactions: Honestly, they were not happy about being doused, but the key is to rub it in deeply, to their skin. I ran my fingers opposite the hair growth to get up underneathe the fur. It has such a pungent smell, they won't want to lick it, but if they do, I researched all the ingredients and none of them will kill even a tiny kitten. They'd have to drink a decent amount of it straight, in order to even have slight issues at all. Their fur couldn't hold enough to do that. It really is safe, even if it smells strongly, at first. I suggest doing it in an open space, or have windows open. Once they run off, it will make whatever room they are in smell like that for a bit. Amount you get: Bottle was larger than i expected. I treated 2 Bengals and a small kitten and had about half a bottle left over, even after spraying a ton in order to soak them, entirely. I used this until our prescription strength vet medicine came in. This is NOT TO TAKE THE PLACE OF MONTHLY FLEA MEDICINE. Those treatments, the good ones, have wormer, miticides, and more in them. I simply used this when we moved because we had forgotten to buy more treatment during our move into the country and of course, they got fleas in that short of time, out here.

I honestly have nothing bad to say about this product. We live in Florida. We have these mutant flees that don’t seem to respond to anything we use for our dogs. The vet prescribed meds will work for a little bit but the dogs still struggle. We even have our yard treated regularly and hired someone to come weekly to help pick up poop in the yard. So I bought this spray. Here’s my challenge to you. Buy it, set your dog on a white towel. Follow the instructions to apply it. When ur done you’ll see dead flees all over that towel. They die instantly! Great product!

Since we finally got the cat rid of fleas this has been my go to product. Once you have majority of the fleas off your animal and flea medication applied I would highly recommend this product. It kills those blood suckers on contact. We keep it around for when he goes into areas that may still be infested with fleas. Definitely a product you only spray on them once a day. The chemicals do not agree with the cats taste buds. The amount of times I’ve sprayed him he’s quickly learned to let the product dry before licking himself our else he will be drooling all over the place from the nasty taste.

It worked after a few days. The formula must have changed before you could spray and literally see the fleas and tickets fall off instantly. This one took a few days. My dog still have few ticks on him after a few days of being sprayed. No harsh smell. I did wear gloves.

My vizsla went through a bout of fleas last year. I have absolutely no idea where he was getting them. I have a theory that the raccoons in my backyard were carrying them but I digress. When you spray this stuff on, the fleas rise right to the surface. I always pull them off and squish them just in case. This will not work as a preventative - it is literally an on-the-spot treatment. We had to deal with fleas for a few months until we finally rid ourselves. This stuff gets rid of them, but you need to find the source to eliminate them from returning.

Ok. I'm torn about this product. Works great! It gets the job done and does it well. BUT. I've never used a flea product with such a STRONG chemical smell. This is meant to be used ON ANIMALS. One spray and the whole freaking house has a very strong chemical smell. I've used flea bombs in my house and they didn't smell this strongly... So I question how safe this is for my pets and only use it on furniture and stuff. So while it works great, I can only give 3 stars considering it's labeled to be used on animals and if the smell is too much for ME, it can't be good to my pets.

Having fleas break into the sanctuary of my home was quite a frustrating experience. We use Frontline Plus for Dogs Weigh 89-132 lbs - 3 Applic on our dogs, and our indoor only cats have generally been able to avoid any treatment. That is until we must have went too long between doses, as our dogs had fleas, our cats had fleas, and our home had fleas. Frontline for both the dogs and cats didn't seem to do the trick like I'd hoped, and I knew we needed to treat the home and the dogs topically. I had tried Zodiac Flea & Tick Spray for Dogs, Cats, Puppies & Kittens, 16 oz , but it only kills living fleas (not eggs), and that in combination with the Frontline didn't do the trick. It probably didn't help that I was using a similarly ineffective Zodiac Carpet & Upholstery Aerosol Spray, 8 oz on their beds and carpeting. Eventually I did more research on Precor and its ability to kill eggs and living fleas, and I gave this and Zoecon Precor 2000 Plus Premise Spray, 16 oz. a try, and they've done the trick! We're still using Frontline, and hopefully we won't need to resort to topical sprays ever again, but if we do, we'll know where to turn!

Update: Year 2020 I repurchased and this is product "STILL Remains to Work Great", my mother and sister now buy formthere pets and there home. I highly recommend! I have 3 indoor dogs & 1 cat they love to run around our yard and play all day, My lot is on private property lots of woods, deers, foxes, long grass areas. This spray is the only one that actually works I now only buy this brand for my pets the spray for the interior house and one for outdoors area.
