Ember Temperature Control Smart Mug 2 Charging Coaster, White - New and Improved Design (white)

Works as expected for my cherished Copper Ember mug. Recommended if you need Ember mug heating in other locales around your home.

Since I move around a lot it was nice to have the extra charger to keep my drink warm in multiple locations.

I bought my first Ember mug in February 2021. The base finally quit on me a couple weeks ago. One of the charging pins broke. The pins seem to be spring-loaded, and one of the springs must have broken - so one pin no longer made contact with the charging ring on the mug.My Ember mug has become a true guilty pleasure. They’re stupidly expensive — but I do love mine. When my base finally failed I didn’t hesitate to buy a replacement.After making my purchase I wrote to Ember and asked if I could send them my old broken base so they could recycle it. Sadly, they don’t do that, they instead advised me to take it to an eWaste drop off. They also offered to send me a replacement base even though I’m sure I’m out of warranty. If you’re considering buying a replacement base unit I’d advise you to contact ember customer support first.

I'm not happy to have had to buy a replacement coaster so soon after buying the mug, but I'm glad it was available. I didn't care about the color. My Ember mug is black, but the gold looks fine. At least my cup is charging again.

The charging coaster can become damaged (the little charging wires that make contact with the mug can break or get pushed down), so a replacement is occasionally needed. The company will also sometime replace the charger for free but it is nice to have an extra charging plate for different places in the house or office. Works well. Nice to have a variety of colours now.
