Space Black - Meteorite Embedded

TL;DR: It took a while, and multiple orders, but I FINALLY got the correct version (w/ meteoroid embedded) after contacting manufacturer. … Quick response (especially considering they're on the other side of the planet from me) and excellent service! When I first heard about the Hoverpen (v. 1), I thought it was an interesting idea. With 2.0, I thought it was appealing enough to purchase one for myself and another as a gift. But the version that REALLY peaked my interest was the version with bits of meteoroid embed in it; I'm more than a bit of a science fiction fan, and also fascinated with the actual history of manned space flight and the science that allows humans to survive in space. Some will be put off by the price tag for this version, but I own fountain pens that retail for many (many-Many-MANY) times more, so I didn't hesitate to add it to my cart. … As is most often the case with Amazon Prime purchases, the pen shipped quickly and arrived the next morning. Unfortunately, rather than the version with the bit of meteoroid embedded in the end, I received the "standard" Hoverpen 2.0 with the 18k gold plated cap ring. Checking the label on the bottom of the box, it claimed to be the meteoroid embedded version, but was absolutely NOT correct. … Submitting a request for an exchange for the correct version was simple and didn't cost me any more than a brief trip to my local UPS Store. … And the replacement arrived the next morning. And was also the wrong pen; again the "standard" version with the 18k gold plated cap ring. Again, with the same incorrect label on the bottom of the box. … Then, an online chat with Amazon support to ensure they were aware of the issue. … So I submitted the request for a refund (since you can't request an exchange for an exchanged item), and submitted a NEW order for the meteoroid embedded version. … And repeat (wrong pen in a mislabeled box). … And repeat exchange (wrong pen in a mislabeled box). This time, I contacted Novium. Who immediately shipped me the correct version of the pen directly rather than from the stock they'd already sent to the Amazon Fulfillment Centers (since Amazon is handling logistics for fulfilling Hoverpen orders). So I'm quite happy with both my "normal" Hoverpen 2.0 (floating next to my work laptop in my home office) and the Meteoroid Embedded version (floating next to my personal laptop on the other side of my home office). In all, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Novium product again. In fact, I've already backed their Hoverpen 3.0 campaign on Indiegogo.

Great pen. Has great desk appeal. It had a sliver of a meteorite that is 20 million years older than the earth!!!

This is a very cool piece. I love the included QR which will rake you to the internet where you can read about the meteorite.

It really does play well with the decor of my office. It gives me just enough of a distraction but also stimulates me to keep using it. Love the design and how it feels on my hand. Only fear is if I take it on the road with me a losing the cap but it mainly stays on its stand gravitating!

You would think with a 400$ pen that you would get what was advertised, not the case with this. I got the pen, opened it and it is the basic model. No meteorite in the top and certainly nothing worth 400$

I really like this pen. I ordered the meteorite embedded pen and unfortunately received one that was not meteorite embedded. It came in the correct box with the wrong pen.

This is amazing and does a great job makes cleaning a whole lot easier

Son bought me the meteor version and I loved it. However, inadvertently when moving the pen and base, I dropped the pen on a hard tile floor which dented the black pen tip cover and it no longer spun properly on the base. My fault, and I was terribly disappointed that after only a couple of days, I had corrupted one of the most interesting features of the pen. Told my son about the accident, he got in touch with the manufacturer and AT NO CHARGE they sent a replacement, during the Xmas rush, and it arrived before XMAS!!!!!!! Not only do I adore the pen, but can't say enough about the service!
