Estee Lauder Double Wear

This is GREAT foundation. It may not be for everyone but it's more than perfect for me. I will explain my situation and how I apply it. I have dry flaky uneven skin and I have the hardest time finding a foundation that doesn't make my skin look even more dry. I found a trick for that and to make it go on very even. I cleanse, tone and apply moisturizer for my eyes and face and let my skin absorb the moisturizer well. Then I start applying foundation. I don't recommend using a sponge because it will be uneven coverage and it will suck up all of your foundation, you will just end up wasting it. I use a foundation brush. I wet my foundation brush and press it on a towel to remove any excess water. I then put a small amount (about dime size) on my hand, I then grab some with my brush and start brushing from the inside middle of my face OUTWARD. This insures you wont get the "mask" look, and it makes it look perfectly blended with your skin. You can get more foundation and add it on if you need more coverage. The key is building it.. not just putting a huge glop on your face then trying to blend it. This would be difficult. I then I then use whatever is left on the brush on my nose because this is my most dryest and it flakes vey easy. I then set with a setting powder. Instead of brushing the powder over it, I dab it all over. Overall, this foundation gave really good coverage, stayed on more than 14 hours. I never touched it up, it did not oil up or smear. This foundation gave more of a matte/natural mix coverage. My husband even complimented me and told me my face looked great and that my skin looked like a porcelin's doll :) This foundation is a keeper!!

I went to the Estée Lauder website and did the color match process that uses your camera and then came to Amazon to order. I checked to see if I could return the product if I wasn’t satisfied first. I applied it with a foundation brush and was very pleased with the result. I am 48 and all of the skin issues that come with age. I received nothing for this review. I am just sharing my experience since I rely heavily on reviews when making purchases.

I have been using this product for years and I love it. It gives the constant coverage I need with out feeling too cakey on my skin. Its a little pricy but it takes a while to get through the bottle. I also mix two different colors to get my color and add moisturizer when I apply to my skin. I definitely recommend trying this product.

It's expensive but a good one, you can wear it light or full coverage, the texture is great for my dry skin.

little pricey but the bottle lasts months, esp if you use one of those new blending sponges that you can wash, those things work well with this makeup, just make sure blending sponge is damp and or add primer or moisturizer to it first for best look

I've got the wrong shade. It's to light for my skin tone but that is my fault. If you get the right shade,it's just a wonderful foundation,covers well and looks natural.

I like that it covers my brown patches on my face . The stuff leaves your face looking like porcelain.

Love the texture (just the right level of creamy and matte). It also stays on really well in water.

I got the estee lauder double wear much cheaper than anywhere else so it was excellent value. Double wear is in my opinion the best foundation for full coverage, longevity and with a massive range of shades it is easy to get a great colour match - I wear tawny in the winter. Although double wear provides excellent coverage and lasts all day, i wouldn't use it if your skin is dry as it comes out patchy. It's important to blend it well as soon as it goes on. I know a lot of people say it has buildable coverage but I find that it is best to put more on at the start as I've tried doing layers but again I found this method left my skin a patchy colour. Brilliant foundation that stays put and at an excellent price.
