Neogen Ramik Green Fish Flavored Weather Resistant Rodenticide Nuggets, 4 lb bag (00615)

Rats love this stuff. I like it because the active ingredient is an anticoagulant, Diphacinone, which is far, far less toxic to dogs and cats than rats, and the antidote is Vitamin K, which all vets stay stocked up on. Other rat poisons contain Bromethalin, which is much more dangerous to dogs and cats—don’t take my word about the antidote for Bromethalin—look this one up yourself. So why would anybody use Bromethalin? You get kills after one feeding, and quicker kills. Blood anticoagulants like warfarin and Diphacinone are much slower and might require two feedings. I use Diphacinone because I had much rather take my dog to the vet than use Bromethalin get out the shovel and have a backyard burial due to my stupidity. One time I thought my dog had consumed some rat poison—I was in a panic attack until I discovered the poison was warfarin. I knew I had 48 hours to get to the vet. had used Bromethalin. But as it turned out, I had forgotten that I had moved the poison to a safe spot, but after that happened, nothing but blood anticoagulants for me. Ramik kills them dead right away, the entire family. This is not necessary but I like to drop a few drops of cod liver oil on the Ramik so the little <expletive deleted> will smell is easier. If it is one thing I can’t stand it’s a rat. I despise rats. I have studied rats and I have used most every rat poison on the market—as well as many that are now considered too dangerous to be on the market— and nothing tops Ramik. There are brands that match Ramik, but nothing tops it. You will not go wrong with this one. I have found that Ramik is not water resistant. If you put it outside where it could get wet, I recommend putting it in a sealed plastic baggie. The rats will chew right through that baggie when they find it, and they will find it.

2 winters ago we started getting these roof rats chewing through our home. We tried everything out there but nothing worked. We tried the dehydrating bars, all that did was make them eat into our waterlines. Even the drain to a brand new washer! They were destroying our home! Holes everywhere and no matter how many times we foamed and repaired the holes nothing was stopping them. They are highly attracted to the dog food and ate through the containers. One day at tractor supply I decided to get the Ramik bait packs. Let me say this, they devoured every bit of them. Within a week our problems was gone. Nada one left. The babies started coming out so we retreated the house and yes gone and never came back! Living in the country surrounded by over grown fields and woods really was a down fall. These work amazing and since weve moved to the city and have seen 2 rats in the home, 1977 brick house, we ordered more off amazon. So if you have a severe infestation of rats like we did. These work! We use the bait packs and the pellets that look like mentos. Turns their poop green fyi lol. This product saved us

Found a small dead rat about a month after use then nothing for AWHILE now I’ve found 3 big dead rats so I would say it works really well it just took much longer to work than I thought it would but also I didn’t put it out the recommended way I just kinda scattered it and then left the bag open for them to get into so that could play into why it too so long but it definitely gets the job done just not in a hurry

I have a cabin in a rural area and there are a lot mice forgaging in the area. I don't like them nesting under the house. Thought to try this stuff instead of D-Con because it is a lot cheaper. They really have been eating this stuff. 4lbs in two weeks out of bait boxs. Ususally with the d-con they will eat a lot at first and then not so much when the population goes down. I have put more bait out. I will know if it actually kills them when they stop eating. Not there yet. It is fall and they are probably putting in their winter stash. I will post a follow up. Follow up: I have put out a couple of pounds of this stuff over the last six weeks and it keeps getting eaten. Its in a bait box with 1.25" holes so I am pretty sure its mice. Ususally the first couple of bars of D-Con get gobbled up quickly and then they sit for weeks at time. I am assuming it was because there are fewer mice. They eat so much of this stuff that, even if it is effective, it is more expensive than DCon. I believe that they are taking it back to a hollow tree somewhere and storing it as food for the winter. This might be a good reason to use bars that they can't easily steal. I have only seen a couple of dead mice but most may have gone off into the fields to die. I am going to try something else. The consumption quanity and the comsumption rate does not follow the pattern that I saw with D-Con. Follow up to the follow up: I used some bars laced with Brodifacoum and Bitrex. They ate a couple of the bars and nibbled on the rest. They have not eaten much in quite a while. I suspect that the bars are too big to be dragged off and they end up chewing off what they can. I believe that this actually kills them. The consumption has fallen off so I am confident there are fewer mice in the area.
