Easy install, very similar to original part

Easy to install on my 01M transmission on a 2003 VW Golf. Filter was a perfect fit compared to the original, and the gasket is high quality. If you are performing this job yourself, PAY ATTENTION while you are re-installing the oil pan. Re-use and refit the metal bolt bushings that come inside the old gasket into the new gasket. The torque is quite light on the transmission pan bolts (80 inch pounds), and over-tightening these bolts will cause the gasket to fold, breaking the seal and opening a gap through which ATF can leak. I was stupid and didn't actually watch this as I did it the firs time, causing ATF to leak all over the garage floor upon fluid fill! To prevent this, carefully monitor the gasket all the way around as you tighten the pan bolts little by little, and if you see any deformation of the gasket, loosen the bolts, straighten the gasket and start again.

A great filter for what is the worst automatic trans in history, what a POS. The man that designed this tranny should have been put in front of a firing squad. Make sure you change the fluid, even though VW says it a "Lifetime" fluid, BS, it just lasts long enough to get it thru the warranty period. Don't forget you will need the VAG-COM computer to check the fluid level since the dipstick who designed it made it without a dipstick.

Price point was excellent and delivery was timely as advertised. Always great that Amazon carries these automotive products.
