Razer Kraken V3 Pro Wireless Gaming Headset with Haptic Technology, THX Spatial Audio, 50mm Titanium Drivers, Hybrid Memory Foam Cushions

I recently bought a new PC and was looking for some wireless headphones to go with it. These have been perfect. The Razer Synapse software is elegant and intuitive, guiding you through the driver update process and introducing you to your new headphones. The customization the software offers is frankly insane and offers way more than I'll ever get into, but it's there. There is EQ for every genre, you can set it to automatically switch depending on which game you're playing. The fit and comfort is amazing. One of the major things I was looking for was that beautiful faux leather padding. Ever since I've been using faux leather on my headsets I can never go back to cloth, and let me say, these things deliver. The clamping pressure is just right while still providing good sound deadening. Mic hair/dent is definitely a problem with these large faux leather headsets though, but for me, the benefits outweigh the inconvenience. The sound is amazing on these things as well. I have some Sony WH-1000XM4's and of course these don't compare, but for what they are--a gaming headset--the sound is really nice and I would pick these over my Sony's for movies and videos any day. That leads me into the "hypersense" which is just fancy talk for haptics/vibrators. And HOLY shi— ahem. They are completely game changing. I'm never NOT getting haptics on my headsets from now on. They utterly immerse you into the game. When I heard people talk about them I was expecting more of a gimmick like subtle rumble and boy was I surprised. They VIBRATE. The best way I can describe it is when you are at the movies and the speakers are so large and loud that they vibrate your chair and ears. It's like that but on a headset, which is arguably better because watching movies or any kind of action media at home now is almost like having a home theater, it's insane. The mic is clear, better than my last one, but nothing to marvel at. Everything about this headset is exactly what I was looking for... except the price. I managed to get it for $180. But unfortunately most wireless headsets are around $150 nowadays anyway, so I was willing to pay an extra $30 or even $50 for full price for the features. And I would %100 buy it again. The one gripe, if you could even call it that, is that the RGB, while wide and varied with customization and animations, is not entirely accurate color wise. It's just slightly off when choosing custom colors. But that's nitpicking, this headset is great. Buy it if you can, you won't regret it.

I'm surprised at all the professional reviews and customer reviews for gaming headsets lacking any examination on sidetone. No one in writing or in their videos give more than an obligatory mention of the sidetone feature, and that is just to confirm that the product advertises it. If they paid any attention to the actual sidetone, they would notice quickly that certain headsets lack it so much that it's basically false advertising. I'm here to say that the sidetone on this wireless Razer gaming headset WORKS. Yes, you have to max out the volume dial on the headset itself. Yes, you have to max out the sidetone setting on Razer Synapse 3, but it works and comes through loud and clear as you talk. It is comparable in comfort to the Razer Nari, albeit with slightly smaller earcups. It's lighter than the Nari wireless (non haptic feedback) despite having the Kraken v3 pro having haptic feedback motors. It's not as comfortable or lighter than the Blackshark v2 Pro. But it is more than adequate. I had no problems wearing it for hours. By comparison, the Blackshark v2 Pro's sidetone does not work. The Razer Nari wireless sidetone is "okay" but on the quieter side. The Blackshark v2 wired model works fine, loud and clear sidetone. Razer's wireless lineup when it comes to sidetone has been poor, at best! Honestly, if the Blackshark v2 wireless pro had functioning sidetone then I would have stopped there. It is light, comfortable, fits my giant head, and has a great mic. But their advertised sidetone does not work at all in practice and it's a widely reported problem. The Kraken v3 pro has good comfort, decent earcups, great gaming/music/movie sound for my non-audiophile ears, a good detachable mic, nice rgb on its sides, and clear sidetone (finally from a Razer wireless headset) in practice. It was my primary need for getting a wireless headset. That, and being comfortable enough to fit my giant head! The Logitech Wireless Pro has great sidetone but is uncomfortable, barely fits my head. The Corsair Virtuoso XT fits very awkwardly.

These are quite a bit better than my Barracuda X headphones; The haptics on these have really been awesome, and can create really immersive experiences in gaming, and even in music and movies! There is a bass-y sense that it creates, and it literally shakes like a heavy bass, even though it's the haptics primarily doing that job. Cool with games when bullets are flying and explosions pounding! I had been enjoying them since I got them about 2 1/2 months ago.... BUT just the other day, I thought that the battery in them was dying because it wasn't charging other than a constant indicator that it was charging, but kept showing in the red in battery level. I thought I was going to already have to try and get replacement on these WAY TOO soon. This only happened a couple of days ago after using these for about 2 and half months. BUT, what I found out is that there is a firmware update for the wireless dongle AND the headphones (yes, a firmware update for each) through Razer. So, I crossed my fingers and hoped it would get the headphones back into working condition. IT DID!! It also fixed the noticeable loss in balance that happens while rolling the volume wheel, which had been annoying, but not something that moving the wheel slightly wouldn't fix. But now I'm not sensing that as an issue anymore...AND on top of that, often when I first turned on the headphones with the haptics on (usually medium is pretty much perfect for me), there would be a ting-ey, electronic glitchy tone to the sound instead of a clear sound. It seemed the haptics weren't calibrating upon being turned on. So, so fix that, I would power off the headphones and back on again and it would be fine for that session. But would generally do it most times when turning on haptics in any other session as well. NOW, with the update it hasn't done that since. So, more like 3 fixes with the major battery concern as the top fix, and the other 2 minor issues seemingly fixed. I feel bad for anyone not considering the firmware update and having same problems, because I bet it would fix more seemingly dead-end problems than people would think. These headphones are also so comfortable with the plush/cushy pads, and the build quality is top notch. For me, my best headphones ever and the haptics/rumble is also not a gimmick. It may be to others, but wow, am I having a great time with them. The audio is so clear, the settings and ability to software tweak the mic and audio settings are very useful IMHO. I did buy these used, but so glad I got these to replace my primary use of the Razer Barracuda X headphones (though those are generally great wireless headphones as well, just nothing near the options and overall quality and build quality AND don't have the haptics that these V3 Pro headphones have). I hope they last, because I'll keep using them as long as I can. UPDATE to my above review that was originally on July 5, 2023....today is Feb. 16, 2025: Just thought I'd update to my review....These headphones are still going strong and still are as comfy and clear and awesome as I stated in my original review!! I won't even consider any other headphones at this point while these still work and the padding holds up still...and they certainly have lasted so well (they are my daily driver since I got them)...they help me pinpoint the opposition in my VR FPS games (Contractors in particular), and really make that gaming difference.

First off, I'll say that the sound quality of the headphones is fairly good, and they are very comfortable. However, these are completely and totally overshadowed by the glaring flaws this product has. 1. To start with, this product will not be able to use surround sound (7.1 audio) unless you pay an additional $20 for razer's THX spatial audio software which is absolutely absurd. So if you don't have this software, you are stuck with just stereo audio. As far as I know (and I've tried a few times), you cannot use another software to use the surround sound. There is likely some sort of hard wall in the firmware that only allows the proprietary software with a valid license activate surround sound. 2. Second, after about 5-6 months (maybe less, don't remember exactly), the mic just went down the drain, but not the mic on the headset itself, it was a software issue. Regardless, I tried reinstalling drivers, reinstalling synapse, updating firmware, and every other trick razer had me do and nothing worked. I was in contact with razer support for about a week trying to fix the issue, and finally they conceded and said alright, we'll have corporate contact you within 24hrs to get details for a replacement. Razer never contacted me once for a replacement. That was by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. To be clear, the issue wasn't that the mic stopped working, only that the volume dropped to nearly zero regardless of how much I boosted it in synapse. I know that it wasn't a hardware issue though because when I turned on sidetone, everything was at the correct volume because that just went straight through the headset. I was able to manage it by funneling my mic through steel series sonar and boosting it as much as possible through there as well, but I shouldn't have to use additional softwares to get to a barely acceptable level. 3. This headset charges at about the same speed that it uses power (sometimes it'll even drain faster than it charges), so you're tethered permanently to the computer for the rest of a session if it needs to charge, and the battery is very sensitive to overcharging. This completely negates the benefits of having a wireless headset. 4. Personally have only experienced it a few times, but have heard of many others who have experienced it frequently, the servo for the hypersense (the vibrations) will sometimes go haywire has squeal VERY loudly in your ear which is just terrible design. This even happened to me while hypersense was turned COMPLETELY OFF. Also with the hypersense, you can always hear the slight quiet buzz of the servo inside. There is no silence, just some slight noise at all times when the headphones are on. 5. I purchased these headphones July 11, 2023 and am writing this review March 11, 2024. In under a year, this headset just randomly died for no apparent reason. It no longer turns on, and when I try to charge it, the power light turns on briefly the goes to a shade of green that is not mentioned on any of the papers/documentation for the headset before stopping the charge completely. I purchased the $200 version (the V3 pro), and it died within one year. I've head $10 headsets with only slightly lower sound quality last over 2 years under the same conditions this headset went through. All in all, I've never had a pair of headphones/headset that I've had such a terrible experience with. I can confidently say that I will NEVER buy another razer product again because of how horrendous this headset has been. The only reason why I didn't return it originally is that most of the problems didn't surface until after the return date of one month and razer refuses to acknowledge its failure with this headset. Then I just had to run it out till it died because it still is an expensive headset. Don't make the same mistake I did. Don't buy this headset.

Edit: I’ll move this up 5 stars because I have had an almost perfect experience with the permanently wired headset. However, if you want to buy the Bluetooth version, the rest of the old review is for you. The Bluetooth version is by far one of the coolest and yet worst headset I have ever purchased. Don’t get me wrong, everything on the headset is great… WHEN IT WORKS. Now, you can always use an aux cord if you want to give up the haptic feedback, but if you are going to do that, just buy the wired version which has wired haptics. The USB dongle for Bluetooth does not even connect. Bought the headset new to make sure everything works. I’ve had it for months, trying occasionally to get it to work. I’ve been able to use it a grand total of 4 times using the USB dongle. Razer can make quality products, but the issue here is likely the software. Let’s just say that Razer isn’t exactly known for their software’s reliability and quality. It just sucks, unfortunately, even after consulting the customer service (which was good imo) Don’t buy this product, it’s essentially paperweight unless you want a wired headset without haptics. Do, however, buy the wired version. It’s amazing. The only problem I’ve had is that occasionally, when I turn on my system, I’ll have to unplug and plug their headset back in. Thats the only issue

The headphones sound pretty good. Nothing amazing, but not terrible either. Just fine for gaming, imo. The microphone is pretty good, but I hate that it is detachable instead of retractable like the Kraken used to be. The retractable mic worked fine, I guess this was cheaper... since if you really care about audio quality, you'd get a dedicated mic. Sometimes the mic doesn't work and you have to restart your computer. My best guess is Synapse bugs out and locks the gain to pretty much nothing... setting the mic boost to 100, gain to max, discord amp to max, and I'd barely be heard. Restarting my computer fixed it to work as expected. Battery life is meh, but if you don't like haptics, it will last a few days on a charge. It doesn't really warn you before it is going to die. It will start playing a noise every 10 sec or something when it is about to die... I don't really count that as a warning since it's so frequent it's pretty much unusable once it gets low. Synapse is the real downfall. At the end of 2023, they still haven't managed to display the battery percentage in synapse.. you only get an icon with a couple of pixels to guess how charged it is. This is made even worse by the fact that if you don't regularly restart your computer, you will have to unplug the USB dongle and plug it back in to show in synapse. If your computer goes to sleep, the headset will no longer show... it will work fine, but you won't be able to know how charged it is until you replug the dongle or restart your computer. And I think Synapse does warn you when it starts to get low, but it can't do that if it can't "see" it. The strange part is these things are isolated to this specific headset model. The 2023 BlackShark V2 Pro worked fine in Synapse, including showing a number for battery percentage, so it's clear that Razer simply doesn't care about this headset. I would use the blackshark if it didn't have a slider for adjustment and didn't hurt my ears.. but since it does, this is as good as it gets for me for Razer. My synapse is the latest version and so is the firmware on the headset and dongle. If you're not attached to Razer, probably best to try a different brand or the BlackShark series if you can tolerate it, unless the software doesn't bother you.

So far I've been using this thing a couple days and I can say with confidence that its the best headset I've bought so far. Also my first Razer headset. Comfort, sound quality, battery life oh the battery life, I charged it first time and I've been using it on-and-off for the past 3 days it still hasn't run out I love it already. As for the haptics I could go for a mixed bag with it. For one, when listening to music it sometimes goes off at weird times or off-beat, but its just a minor nitpick from my part, but its great in-game. Feeling the rumble during the action is something I want everyone to experience. With some extended testing and development I think haptic feedback on headsets could end up being fantastic, so far this one ALMOST nails it, but its very close. Also note that the Kraken V3 Pro IS noise-cancelling. Put it on and your surroundings will be muffled. If you're someone that needs to be attentive and listening for something outside of your PC maybe don't go for these, otherwise the noise cancellation truly helps with immersion and peace. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase, the price is steep but worth it.

Paid $200 for a premium headset that disappoints. If I don't have them plugged into a USB hub, a loud noise in a game (like that doesn't happen, right?) causes them to disconnect and turn off. I have to do a turn off/turn on, pull the dongle out and plug it back in to get them to connect when I first boot up. Search google for "Razor Kraken v3 Pro disconnects" and see that I am not alone. Sometimes turning them off and on will get them to connect, sometimes I have to pull the dongle out and plug it back in to get them to connect, then sometimes both processes. The Synapse 4 software always says they are at 80% charge. If you plug them in to charge, sometimes it will show that is charging but you will never know. The only reason I give them two stars is they sound great when they work. They really sound amazing. But they are truly not wireless. In order to have a good experience, I have to be tethered to a USB-C cable, so I don't lose audio mid-game. Truly a disappointment. I have other Razor products which are amazing, and it is the reason I bought this headset to replace my old SteelSeries Arctis 7 which I loved.

Razer Kraken v3 Pro headset has incredible sound quality that allows me to hear even the slightest footsteps in FPS games. However, I have encountered persistent connectivity issues that have been disappointing and frustrating. Despite updating the firmware and ensuring the USB dongle is properly connected, the headset does not always connect to my PC. I have to frequently change the USB dongle to another port or use the headset pairing utility as a workaround, which is inconvenient. I have come across other customers online who have reported similar problems, and I believe this is an issue that needs attention. As a loyal customer who has invested a significant amount in this headset, I expected a seamless and hassle-free experience. I urge Razer's software team to investigate and develop a permanent solution to ensure reliable and consistent performance of the Kraken v3 Pro headset. I value the exceptional sound quality of the Kraken v3 Pro headset, but the recurring connectivity issues have impacted my overall satisfaction with the product. I hope that Razer can resolve this issue promptly to restore my confidence in the product.

"on ear - wireless" this is how they scam you. Before you buy. Just know. The Bluetooth aka "wireless" feature only exits on PlayStation and Xbox. You cannot connect to any other "wireless" devices via "wireless" Bluetooth. I cannot connect my phone, my laptop or my tablet. It can only have "wired" connections to these devices. 25k worth of junk for 2023. Sell you the haptic motor inside the headset when 99% of the devices won't be able to connect to it "wirelessly". Garbage worst 25k I've ever spent.

Anteriormente habia comprado los Nari Ultimate y tenia muchos problemas de desconexion y el microfono muy malo, decidi darle la oportunidad a los kraken v3 pro y puedo decir que son excelentes, el sonido realmente es increible en los juegos, ejemplo...en warzone puedes detectar muy bien por donde viene el enemigo, el RGB es bellisimo, el microfono suena muy bien y la ventaja es que puede desmontarlo, el haptic pues meehhh, sinceramente en lo personal no le veo mucho sentido y esta opcion termina muy rapida la bateria pero no es malo, son muy comodos tambien. si los recomiendo mucho.

The surround voice or 7.1 is not exists and if you want 7.1 you should buy an activation code.. good way to west your money 👎🏿 The app is not easy to use .. don't buy don't buy don't buy save your money for (logitech) is more better

I love these headphones. They're so comfy and I wear glasses. They sound awesome, after you tweak the settings, they sound so much better. The mic quality lacks, they're worse than my arctis series 5 from 2018, but it is what it is. The synapse software works great for me, although I know many people have issues with it. I do love the haptic feedback feature, works great, although I use the low setting as the medium and high start to give my a headache. Overall they're a great pair of headphones, I wish they were less expensive though, maybe $50 less.
