On my list of things to get, since wife says no more guitars.. lol. So I preform on small stages, as in like 4 feet deep, and a with a full compliment of other instruments i.e. full drum set, two guitarists two vocals, keys, etc. It leaves very little room for a whole pedal board setup with the things this little beast has. I've used it with both an electric guitar as well as an electric bass. Little tweaks in the live setting to get a decent sound for the bass as this wasn't setup for the lower frequency of the bass. None the less, after the tweaks, it sound good. The two stages don't have much room for amps so this is perfect. Key take aways, presets are great buy may not be what your looking for in a specific setting. So go with the live setting and adjust from there. Be aware with the "amp" (tone) know, once you get past the clean channels, it gets very loud quickly. Others are, pay attention when swapping through the a, b, c, foot switches during a set, if you hit two of them just right, it will knock you out of live mode and back into preset modes. Additionally, if you've not pressed any foot switch for a little while (about 20 mins) it will automatically revert back to the presets and just a simple stopping on the b, c, switches brings you right back to the live mode. So recap, portable, sturdy, rechargeable, lightweight, great for small stage setups where you can go into a D.I. box, love how you can "home" jam anywhere with the headphone an tablet/phone/computer interface and jam alone, IR settings are Adjustable through software that's free and readily available. Overall, excellent work. May get one specific for a bass, but this little thing is doing the job nicely for now. UPDATE: 12.12.2023 Ok, so going over questions from others, and thinking it over, I tried and idea. Some users don't have the ability for a 3.5mm headphone jack to use as in input/output. They thought about this when they engineered it. The Bluetooth function can be used for playing tracks. Meaning, since up the cube baby to phone/tablet Bluetooth, connect the 1/4" output to the amp of ur choice, on ur phone/tablet select what you want to play, (YouTube backing tracks etc.) My set up is: cube baby (guitar) synced via Bluetooth for playing backing track output (1/4" instrument cord) to amp, along with cube baby (bass) 1/4" cord out from bass guitar into cube baby (bass) and out of cube baby into amp and able to adjust accordingly. Thought I had to 3.5mm out of laptop/phone/tablet via USB cord into cube baby then out to amp. It will work that way, but the Bluetooth option means I'm not restricted by way shorter 3.5mm cords.

Honestly one of the best pedals I have. For the cheap price, it's easily the best pedal for when you are on a budget, the distortion is easily the best part of it in my opinion, if you are a beginner guitarist and you don't want to spend Boss money for distortion or multi effects pedals, get this 100%.

For the price, can't be beat. Clean tones are good, very musical and responds well to pickups, guitar volume changes and switching. The tone control is simply a treble cut. The Mod controls are useable depending on amp mode AND IR used. The phaser sounds more univibe, but still useable. Chorus is nice. Reverb works well enough, although a little harsh. Clean amp models work fine, but the gain amps are really lacking and fizzy. Experimenting with IRs might help. Read the manual first to get an overview of programming and setting presets, then dive in. This is NOT good to use in a recording. Too much hiss. Especially in gain amps. Don't bother. Where this unit shines is onstage where the noise floor of this unit is lost in background from audience, other instuments, and acoustics. Other features work as they should and it is a bargain for a small stage, preamp, rig backup, and musicians on a tight budget needing basic effects. The bluetooth feature is perfect for solo gigs. Loading your own IRs can help find your sound. Running on a built-in rechargeable battery cuts back on an extra power cable. A clever unit.

So far I really like this pedal. It’s nothing fancy, but it does what I need and is fun. As others have said, read the manual, it’s not long but there are a lot of features and it can get confusing until you figure it out. I bought this for a unique purpose. I have a pedal board for my guitar and have it set up the way I like for indoor playing. This was not for that. It was for portable playing. I enjoy playing on the porch now and then and I have a very cool little cigar box amplifier with a 3” speaker that I use to plink around outside. I was looking for a multi-effect pedal that was not too expensive that would get me from options from overdrive to distortion with some chorus/ reverb without having to lug a bunch of pedals around or a big, high dollar multi-effect unit. This works awesome. I have to be careful on volume because it doesn’t take much to crackle the 3” speaker. But for the purpose, it is awesome and works better than I imagined. I knew I wouldn’t be able to make all tones work with the speaker (some are too much for the speaker, but that is no fault of the pedal) but this pedal gives you tons of options and adjustment. Controls are logical once you figure them out (doesn’t take long). Very fun, wanted a cheap option that was very portable. I grab my guitar, cigar box amp, cables and put this unit in my pocket. Done. Also like visuals with colors to reinforce which knobs go with which functions/buttons. Neat unit.

My reason for purchase is/was the ability to load acoustic guitar IR’s and feed resulting signal to Fishman loud box (LBX) instrument input. IR loader being my main reason for purchase and it delivers the goods for me. Although not originally interested in the tone/gain/preamp function I discovered adding some gain to preamp #2 while rolling off tone creates a nice foot switchable acoustic solo boost. Reverb is pretty good and the delay and mod efx will likely come in handy. I normally use a clip on tuner but the built-in tuner is serviceable if rather basic. No chromatic or fine resolution but in a pinch (clip on battery dies) it would be useful. For the money $$$ it’s a super cool durable yet portable efx box and IR loader. Battery life good, computer connectivity (IR loader) all seem to work as intended. Youtube is a good source for user information and the Cuvave website support appears solid. I'll eventually dig into the electric guitar side of things and likely update my comments. But I made a quick test drive of the OEM presets using lap steel through headphones and it seemed very capable as an electric guitar headphone amp and possibly super compact floor rig. Speaking of floors - yes, it will survive!!! Very high marks for overall sturdiness and well designed foot switches. Can't really go wrong with all the VALUE this processor delivers. Update - be aware of input impedance as this device doesn’t have the greatest sensitivity in that regard. Most electric guitars with average or above pickup field strength will work pretty good. However, low output (vintage, nickel strings) magnetic pickups and passive UST acoustic pickups may need preamp help to achieve full timbrel satisfaction. A wireless unit or looper may suffice enough to overcome the low input sensitivity. It’s not a deal breaker for me and honestly not unexpected at this price point you’re simply not gonna find 1M Ohm inputs. But I won’t be able to use it for passive acoustic pickups or very low output vintage magnetics and pure nickel/Monel strings without a buffer/boost. Latency is another compromise IMO. It’s not super bad using cables but add 10ms or more wireless unit and/or Variax guitar modeling, maybe other digital effects and latency delay becomes quite noticeable. There’s a few oddities when using CubeSuite as well. Not all the numbering is accurate to the product info charts. Sometimes 0 will be 1, FYI… But the ability to audition and load IR’s is pretty cool and the effects appear gig worthy. I’ve enjoyed many of the preamps and OD/Dist tones. All good…

I really wanted to like this unit and it really is a great valor the money. However if you are playing through headphones it is just too damn noisy for me. Some players can deal with it but I can't ignore it. The sad part is I was using humbuckers and it was awful. Not the best Humbuckers I may add but still, I did not even bother using one of my single coil guitars as I too afraid to hear the outcome. If they added a built in noise gate it would probably increase the price but for an extra $10.00 it would be worth it. When playing clean it's ok but who the hell buys these units just for clean. If they add a built in noise gate in the future I would definately but it but for now I have to return it.

Through the years I've had a several processors for guitar and bass. This one has a headphone jack. This one accepts bluetooth connections. It has a USB connection for digital recording. It also allows for 3 presets for live use. It also loads 3d party IRs. Its metal case helps keep its noise floor low. So far it has been very impressive for both guitar and bass. For $48, I can't complain. I thought this unit would have been more like their other guitar headphone preamp that plugs into the guitar. The models are very different. Better or worse, I can't say. I do think this unit is much more substantial and less easily damaged, as a pedal, made from metal. I was able to get classic jazz tones, soaring lead tones, and a fine bass tone too. The effects sounded quite good. Even jazz guitar with just a touch of reverb sounded quite good. The output from the headphone jack was impressively low noise. Not just guitar either, my fretless P-Bass with coated strings even had a very low noise floor. That's impressive. With a guitar with humbucking pickups, just amazingly quiet noise floor. It would be nice of there was a DI output, like some of the similar looking pedals have. I wish my Ethos pedal had these features. It's great for what it does, but has no built in effects or USB. Pure analog device.

I've only had it a day, so I can't speak about long term durability. However, for 40$ it's does a lot. I wanted an IR loader that could run off 9v, then is saw this which has an IR, it's own battery, reverb, delay, phaser, chorus and 8 amp models for less than any other IR pedal I could find. The amp models are ok, not great, but it's hard to get a good sound with only gain and one tone. You can find a decent clean or low gain sound and when you put a distortion, eq, overdrive in front it can sound really good or you can just switch it off and use the other effects. The chorus/phaser are very basic, but decent and share a knob. I'd never use either effect enough to even buy a chorus or phaser so it's enough for me. The delay is very good and the IR's are easy to swap with the app.... on windows 10, it wouldn't work on 11, didn't bother trying iOS, or Android. Probably my favorite feature is the rechargeable battery, so I can have delay, chorus/phaser, and reverb in the effects loop without needing a 9v or separate ac adapter. That alone is worth the cost.

It does what it says it does. Functions well for the price.
