Great replacement bulb. Extremely bright for something so small

Prompt arrival, well packaged, and perfect for my flashlight!

We have an Ikelite Mini C Lite (4 C cells) which was missing a bulb. Until I started researching dive lights, I didn't know that they typically run hot and rely on being submerged to cool them. This LED bulb fit great but I had to reverse the battery polarity. Althought the bulb is brilliantly white when you look directly at it; the flashlight in use has a distinctly yellow cast. Overall, this is a great upgrade and I expect the bulb to last virtually forever not to mention extending battery life.Worth noting that the first bulb I received was DOA.

No, this isn't as bright as some of the "tactual" LED flashlights that are sold, but it has resurrected my favorite old Maglight. Some have complained about the "halo" or doughnut effect of the light and when I try to spread the light that does happen... so I just don't try to go wide beam. I can't speak to longevity or energy consumption as I have only used the bulb for a couple of days, but as for the light it puts out, it is a great improvement. The standard bulb sends out a pale yellow light that could reach a large tree about 60' behind our house, but you couldn't make out much detail. The "LudoPam High Power LED Upgrade Bulb 3W DC 4-12V" in my 3 cell Maglight sends out a white light that not only shows the tree in great detail, but also can illuminate the little meadow and even reach the top of the 100' tall tree. This helps me see if there are any predators around before I turn my Chihuahua loose to do her business.

It saved my old MAG-LITE 3D flashlight from being forgotten and gave it the new life. I was waiting for many months to write this review because I wanted to test it first and this LudoPam High Power LED Upgrade Bulb 3W DC 4-12V Replacement Part LED Conversion Kit Bulbs 3-6 Cell C&D works great. After upgrade I put brand new battery 3D cells and they are still powering the flashlight with much brighter light output. I am very happy with this purchase. The only thing that I do not like is the dark spot in the middle of the light circle. It is not the big problem because when you power the flashlight in the pitch black outside you see everything that you want to see but it would be great if the spot is not there.

Ordered 2. Beautifully made. Neither one worked in either of two flashlights. I could not believe it and tried to modify contacts so there was no question about the bulb fit. Because they did not work still, I wondered if there was a polarity problem (diodes, by design, let current flow in only one direction). I finally connected them to wires connected to the battery pack and checked current in both directions. I cannot explain what happened, but they both worked with reversed polarity. One flashlight permitted reversing the batteries with good contacts, and the other only questionable contacts. The one with reversed batteries (putting the + at the - end where marked in the flashlight), works great now. It is a great bulb with intense light output. The other one, with questionable contacts, did not work, even when I tried to stuff a wire between the contact and the battery pole. I then reversed the batteries back to the way they were intended to be placed, and the light bulb worked perfectly. It produces great light that is well focused. I cannot explain this phenomenon. Clearly diodes, unlike filament lights, are very polarity-dependent, but this outcome suggests that there may be some breakdown in the farication or testing process (quality control) allowing them to leave the plant in this condition. If they work great right out of the box they should be 5 stars. If you have to do as I did and possibly not have the same happy ending, they may be worth 1 star. It is unfortunately a toss-up at this point.

When I 1st received these conversion kits, I could not get the bulb to fit the Maglite, as the new LED bulb diameter was too large to fit through the Maglite retention ring. This problem was noted by other reviewers and I did not see a solution to it. Eventually I figured out there are 2 different sizes of bulb retention rings for the Maglites. Both retention rings have the same threads so they will fit any 2, 3 or 4 cell Maglite, but the ID of the opening for the bulb to pass through is different. These different retention rings can be found in 2, 3 and 4 cell Maglites. The LudoPam LED bulbs only fit through the Maglite retention ring with the full ID bulb opening and they do not fit through the Maglite retention rings with the more restricted ID bulb opening. I was unable to determine which Maglites use the larger and smaller bulb ID retention rings. It seems the bulb vendor should make this more clear since they advertise their bulbs work in all Maglites. I ended up using a Dremel to ream out the bulb-end ID of the retention ring so the new LED bulb would fit correctly. Once installed, they work great! Much brighter than the old Maglite incandescent bulbs.

This is just a super product made an unbelievable difference to my Maglite. My thirty year old Maglite in recent times has been pushed back by my Led Lenser and Varta torches. Live on a rural property in Queensland so good light is important. Put this upgrade bulb into my six cell Maglite and wow its a different torch. Good white light and throwing an easy 75 meters plus. I really like my big Maglite and now for just a few dollars its better than new. Have another six cell so will get bulb for that plus back ups. On the Amazon site Ludo Pam have an even stronger bulb so will try that next order. Bulb came nicely packed in foam in a small cardboard box. Fit was perfect.

This works really well. I’ve owned a 3 battery D cell Mag Light for about 10 years. I don’t use it that much anymore as I’ve transitioned to smaller rechargeable flashlights the past few years. I was aware of these LED bulb replacements for a while and I decided to replace the original bulb in my Mag Light. I’m very happy with the results, the light is much stronger and I can tell right away that the LED draws much less power extending the life of my batteries.The Mag Light will never be my first choice anymore when I’m out in the field but I’m happy to say that it will get many more decades of service living in my toolbox in the garage.
