Not Remastered but remember it was released in 1990
As others have said, the video quality is low. I wouldn't go as far as some have said and call it a bootlegged copy because I knew when purchasing that it was not domestic (US) release. I have purchased other import titles that looked physically similar and played much better. It's simply not remastered to perform well on the TV's that most of us have now. On screen it looks like it is a 480 resolution and since I couldn't find it in Blu-ray I'm not surprised that it's in the same resolution that was standard for the time. If you're looking for this rather obscure movie you have probably seen it before and are going to enjoy it again like I did after not seeing it for over 20 years.

Absolutely a must see , old and young alike
I, too, have been looking for this movie since I once saw it on TV (chopped by commercials, and censored of course). When I found it here on Amazon and watched it again via streaming rental, I have watched it 3 times within my 24 hour time limit. This movie is a great period piece ,containing a lot of human drama, with the Vietnam war as a backdrop. I am not going to reveal any events of the movie, but will say that all factors of this movie, anyone who was a teen in the 1960's can relate too. War,Malcomb X and the Muslim movement, discrimination, teen rebellion against the establishment, Cassius Clay changing his name....the list goes on. Just see the movie, especially if you are in the over 50 group, and youngsters of today can see that their own struggles and rebellion is no different than the one THEIR parents faced when they were teens.

I Love This Movie.
This movie is a classic, it is heart, stirring, thought, provoking, and eye-opening.The characters are easy to fall in love with and to connect with. It could also be a tearjerker.I personally, highly recommend this movie.

This movie is great. I don't understand why this movie is so unknown. The story line is good. The acting and cast is great. It's a movie that everyone should watch and enjoy.

日本製でないのか日本語字幕もなく残念でした。
送られてきたケースから盤まで日本語表示がなく、海外版だと解りましたが、日本語字幕が有るかと期待していましたが、残念な事に日本語字幕は有りませんでした。

A Sheen family 'Tour De Force'
Mostly for Sheen fans, with three of the family embroiled in this effort, if you do not rate the sheen family for acting you had better stick to what you know. Here we have Charlie his dad Martin and his (full blood) brother Ramone (Martin's third son).Basically a tale of incarcaration in a military prison, Blacks fighting racial prejudice and whites (Charlie) fighting the 1960's American Army system.A story which incorporates Human struggle, taking sides, despair and anguish and triumph with simple values of human kinship. Almost a prequel to 'Platoon' with Charlie experiencing the difficulties of army life in the stockade before being shipped out to Viet Nam. If you liked the comradship feel of that film then this is a bit of a sad tale of morale values with a particularly sad scene at the end that is on the same wavelength. A NON action film full of sob story comradarie!High-lites include an alternative 'soul Patrol' march and a drunkard Charlie trying to dance whilst shouting.;"I've got tatoos on my hands Pa, where they show, I'm taking it back Dad I'm taking it all back!Top notch stuff.
