I would recommend this filter.
I own a late 99 Ford F-250 Super Duty 7.3 Powerstroke. I have used many different filters and fuel bowl covers and had some leak, and never really cared much for those tapered gaskets they gave you. However, I found that this Doc's Diesel Fuel Filter with Cover worked excellent. To me it was quick and easy. Just make sure you inspect the covers surface for plastic burrs where it meets the gasket. Lightly coat the covers surface with diesel and the threads and give both gaskets a diesel bath and hand tighten only the cover, and you shouldn't have any leaks. I think some people crank that cover down too tight and it either leaks or blows off.

fit well
The only complaint was the filter is not attached to the cover but is just pressed down by the cover. This can allow the fuel to bypass the filter. However, the oring fit on the filter unit is good, better than other main line filters.

Reliable, Easy to Install, and Built for Heavy Duty Performance!
The Doc's Diesel Fuel Filter DCS8629OE is a perfect fit for my Ford 7.3L Super Duty (F250/F350/F450) 🚙💪. Installation was straightforward, and the quality of the filter is excellent — you can tell it’s built to last. I immediately noticed smoother performance and peace of mind knowing my engine is protected from impurities. The heavy‑duty construction 🛠️ gives confidence for long hauls, and it feels just as good as OEM, if not better. For the price, this filter is a fantastic value. Highly recommend to any Ford Super Duty owner who wants dependable filtration and long‑term engine health 🔧.

Good alternative to OEM
I try to go OEM with Motorcraft when I can but picked this up when prices on everything went up. Held next to other fuel filters it looks to be of good quality and installed with no problem. There was no leakage as it sealed like it should. Looks to be a good product.

Crap Quality
This product is garbage DO NOT BUY. I bought Docs as a spare to carry in the truck BC when the fuel filter fails the truck stalls and you're left stranded at the side of the road. That's what happened. So, When I went to change the current filter (stalled on the side of the road) to Doc's first the supplied gasket did not fit properly it was to big. Don't know if it was a one off factory defect or ???whatever. Second, the filter would not seat properly in the old cap (bc Doc's did not come with a new cap-never buy a replacement wo the cap bc different brands may not crossover like this one did not) or the fuel bowl. I had to take it apart an rig up a solution with Doc's filter & the old cap & gasket all while at the side of the road. It did not work. By happenstance a diesel mechanic stopped to help. He suggested to just leave the filter out & put cap back on to get the truck home. So I did. Eventually, I put the Docs filter inside old cap and used the old gasket until I could order a new replacemt kit. Therein lies the problem. While I was waiting for the new replacement to come the old gasket failed (BC the cap fits so tight that once you take it off the old gasket is compromised & flattened and will not seat or seal properly again). THUS, a small drip leakage under fuel pressure began while driving that eventually turned into a gusher. I barely made it home with a drenched (hot) engine and smoking from fuel all over it. By coincidence my new filter, gasker & CAP arrived the morning before this failure happened later in the day. Enough said. Needless to say this all began bc Doc's gasket did not fit the cap or seat correctly (to big for it) in the bowl ridge of the fuel filter housing to begin with. Although I was reimbursed the purchase price of this failed product the extensive collateral damage & time lost was extreme & obviously not worth a crap quality product purchase. Again, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. If I could give a negative star factor this aftermarket product would get it.
