Fit great. Great quality. Did the job to heal the hock sores. Definitely recommend!

WORKS GREAT!
These PREVENT sores, they don’t heal them. You must clean out the sore (batydyn scrub and Nitrofurazone daily, place a 4X sterile pad on the wound then place these wraps over that.) In about a week or so, you’ll have beautiful pink skin. Once the wound is healed, stop the Medications but DO NOT STOP THE WRAPS. When applied as directed, the wrap stays on. We have Arabians (very busy) and our wraps stay on. You have to change them every day making sure they’re dry/clean etc. You must have the right size and apply them correctly. Our Arabians wear a Small to Medium and they’re perfect. As the wear in, they’ll become a little loose so I clip my velcro (along the lines) to keep the wrap snug. Even the directions say to put 2 fingers between the wrap and the horse but if they’re not snug enough, they’ll slide down. We’re very happy with these wraps.

Great idea, delicate execution required
I have a warmblood/saddlebred cross and we recently re-did his stall and run (2022). He likes to lay outside and the hock sores were inevitable. We used regular coverage hock boots for a year plus and they were great. The big guy finally destroy them. Replaced with a neoprene pair that didn’t hold up and really annoyed the big guy. Purchased these after he shredded the original style hock boot after we brought those back into the mix. Ordered L/XL and concur with the other reviewers who report that there the Velcro straps are too long and need to be trimmed. I also make the mistake of leaving on a few days in a row and my horse’s hair rubbed off the back of his legs. It’s grown back in, but it’s white. There is a delicate balance between doing these hock boots up too tight or too loose. I’ve come down in the morning to find one or both around horse’s fetlock on more than one occasion. Obviously doing them too tightly causes the friction/hair loss issue. Recently put them back on after having the runs scraped and noticing that his hock sores are back with a vengeance. Hoping to find the right balance this time around. Seem to be good quality and easy to wash. A little pricey for the maintenance they require.

These worked!
My horse has been having hock sores all summer - I tried various pads, shields, make-shift wraps and nothing worked. Then I bought these...in the last month, one came off one night - the rest of the time they have stayed on very well and the sores are healed. The only negative - teaching barn staff how tight they should be fastened (hard for owners to know too). Sometimes the straps slip off the padding and cause a little irritation above the hock in the back - but the plusses outweigh that one issue...and they are holding up really well - no holes so far!

Wouldn't stay up or on.
Didn't work for me; they won't stay on. She is a senior mare, not overly active, and it just didn't work, sadly. For the price, I thought they would be better suited.

Provides Good Protection, but Expensive.
I need these for my horse, so I keep buying them. They do a good job of protecting his hocks from "bed sores"; however they are not durable. The elastic stretches quickly and they wear out and tear too soon. I usually end up replacing them once or twice a year. They are expensive and the quality does not live up to the price. I'm looking for a better, more economical product.

Just what my horse needed!
My horse is in his early to mid 30s and arthritic. He recently developed a hock sore and has had more difficulty standing up, so the vet recommended hock boots. They really helped him! Along with ointment, the hock sore disappeared within days and he's now more comfortable. Lots of "wells".... they're well-made, fit him well, and they stay in place fairly well.

Very pleased so far
SUPER happy with these so far. Bought them for my gelding, who has a chronic hock sore I just can't seem to get on top of, and it has been doing exactly what was expected (letting the skin heal without risk of reinjury). I have been using 24/7 for about 2 weeks and it has not come off yet. I do take it off at least once per day to groom underneath and readjust. I tighten it until I can slip one finger between the front of the hock and the boot. My horse was at the smallest end of the larger size, so I sized down to the smaller one. I am glad I did, as the boots fit well, but the elastic does stretch out significantly. If I had ordered the larger boot, it may have stretched too much to be effective.

Super Schutz!
Ich habe diesen Artikel nun schon das 2. Mal bestellt.

Great for protecting a open cut.
This was used for protecting an open wound on one of our ponies. It did an excellent job .

Empfehlenswert
