Not exactly easy to install, but does the trick
The product description says universal fit; I think that's a bit of a stretch. It was a chore to get the accordion ridges to fit my GE window unit's existing side panels, but once I did it, it seems to provide good insulation. It has been installed for two months now and the tape has kept in in place. Generally happy with the extra insulation it provides.

Good material in an all-in-one kit.
This is a perfect kit for my older, large 12,000 btu Carrier unit. The only reason I didn't give the kit 5-stars is due to the overall thickness and R-Value of the foam at the bottom of the "V" design. It measures only 1/4" thick at the bottom of the "V", but it's fine as an extra layer of protection for blocking wind and cold. The panels are wide and long, so if you have a smaller unit like my 10,000 btu one, there's a possibility of doubling up the panels face-to-face for extra R-Value. The foam fits snug inside the aluminum channels, and the 3-M double-sided tape is a handy item for mounting. The foam also has no odor to it. The two channels can be mounted to a window frame, or the side of the AC unit. Compression is needed to keep things in place, so I had to cut slightly larger than the gap between my unit and the window frame (no instructions were included in the kit), but it stays put once installed. Overall, this material works well for insulating, and I'm using it to replace similar material that's been in place for 10 years or more. My old foam has powdered from age, so this new foam is an exact replacement. I'm pleased with the quality and sizing of this kit, and I think it's a good value. Personally, anything that helps with lowering heating/cooling costs is a bonus for me. This might not be the thickest material, but it's matched to what's on the shelves in the big box home improvement stores.

Improves the window AC installation
I find it frustrating that window AC units come with ultra low insulation barriers for either side of the AC unit when the whole point of the unit is to improve the temperature condition between outside and inside. These are a nice addition to my installation to add some extra insulation and reduce some of the noise that filters in the window from the backyard. These aren't game changers by themselves, but definitely a step up from what was provided by the AC manufacturer. Just cut them down to size to fit my needs and placed them on top of some solid pink foam insulation that I've purchased separately to increase the insulation further. When paired with the solid pink foam insulation these make my setup look sharper/cleaner/aesthetically fitting the deco of the room better, and help with the insulation even more.

Love!
I have a window unit in my room. I feel like this helps so much better than the ones included in my window unit kit.
