Watercolour Animals for the Absolute Beginner

Same as the other book I bought from this author, I’m an absolute beginner and can’t draw, but was still able to produce some great watercolours via this book.

Only started watercolour painting two years ago and found Mathew palmer artist on line, what a brilliant book and fantastic products his website has, have purchased a great deal of them. Great new book with pull out traceable sheets to make life a lot easier as I am rubbish at drawing.

This book is excellent. Very easy to follow and packed with detailed instructions. Lovely pictures with fold out sketches for those who find sketching difficult.

This is a very easy book to follow. I particularly like the tracings in the middle of the book. Very he!pful.

From front to back it’s an amazingly detailed step by step guide through numerous different styles and techniques that are easy to follow. With colour guides, mixing guides, tutorials and ready made transfer templates. From highlights to shadowing, strong lines to feathering…. If I can feather as gently as Mathew, then so can you!

If you want to learn to paint animals this is the book for you. It’s easy to follow, and has the most fantastic outline drawings for you to copy/trace. The step by step instructions are very clear. I have every book Matthew Palmer has written but this is far the best. Follow instructions and you will produce a beautiful animal painting when you finish. Well done Matthew Palmer I’m looking forward to the next one.

Fantastic book with great step by step and easy to follow instructions, I was very happy with the painting I achieved. The book contains outlines so that you can transfer the drawing onto your paper which is great if you're not very confident with drawing, this is not my first matthew palmer book and won't be the last

This is a fantastic book. It has all the drawings in it so it helps everyone. You can then follow the step by step instructions to painting the animals. Gradually working my way through the book. Love the Panda even if mine did look a bit grumpy when I had finished. Others said he had character. Would highly recommend this book

This is an excellent book. While I love animals, the instructions will work for any subject. His introductory information is top notch and even includes the recipes for how to mix his favorite colors. Or you can even buy tubes of these mixes! To introduce you to the various watercolor techniques, he includes full length demos. Then you get more full length projects. You get the outlines for every demo including the technique plus projects! His explanations are detailed, easy to understand and have great demonstration photos. I don’t know how anyone can give less than 5 stars to this great book.

I flipped through this book and I'm extremely pleased with the quality of illustrations, step by step and in depth study of how to do animals in watercolor. Very impressed. Highly recommended if you are new or even intermediate watercolor artist. Ok, I actually went through this book. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!
