Great fun quadcopter!
I must confess that I seem to have become rather hooked and this is now my fourth quad-copter! - I purchased this one as I was attracted to the first person view with HD camera, the headless mode (if the drone rotates, the controls are relevant to you not the way the drone is facing) and the ability to record directly to TF card. This unit measures 13" across which doesn't really make it particularly suitable for flying indoors however, flying outdoors is enormous fun !!! Because of its large size (the propellor alone are 5 1/2" across), it's that much more stable higher up compared to a smaller device. Unfortunately, despite being the middle of summer, the weather is throwing in some high winds which prevented me going too high however, the attached footage does rather nicely show off the HD recording albeit a bit jerky from the gusts. The quadcopter comes well packed with a tiny amount of self assembly required to attach the legs but it only took a few minutes to be ready for take-off. Flight really is very easy, particularly with the one touch landing and take off but I do recommend reading the instructions first as its not all as obvious as you might think - for example, the drone must be placed looking away from you for headless mode function properly and needs to be on a flat surface for the gyros to calibrate properly. Once it's up in the air, it doesn't take long for the controls to become intuitive and the automatic height is a real bonus, especially when dealing with drift from air current. I would however strongly suggest keeping it low and gradually get higher as your control skills improve, just remember that the green lights are at the front and the orange lights are the rear. The flips (which I forgot to video - DOH) are also good fun to watch and look really clever (just don't let your spectators work out that its a really neat single button manoeuvre!) . Battery life is around the 8-10mins but thats full on recording video, watching live feed and zooming all over the place. The batteries take a good hour to change but there are two provided and extra batteries and multi-chargers are available pretty cheaply from a well known online auction site - just check that the connectors and battery sizes are the same. The FPV (first person view) is really neat and pretty good quality making it easy to fly as if your’e actually up there with it - if you choose not to connect a phone, thats fine as the controller can be used on its own without a phone connected but video and photos can only be controlled by the app. The app also includes a 3D option which can be used with goggles** Video quality is pretty good (there is an option in the settings to switch between 720p and 480p) as are pictures but, don’t expect professional quality results as the camera is attached directly and doesn’t feature a gimble… if thats what you want though, you seriously need to reconsider your budget as you won’t get that for less than 5x the price of this. I particularly like the super bright LED lights which make it very easy to orientate and the battery/out of range warning beeps. I foolishly ignored the beeping for a good minute or so without any issue but when it goes, it goes and looses hight very quickly wherever it is (resulting me having to wade through a corn field to recover it!). The phone cradle Owing to its weight (just 139 grams), it will be exempt from the new registration laws set to come to the UK HOWEVER… this is not a toy and due to its on-board camera and potential range, there are restrictions covering where is can and cannot be used. Please search online for “The Drone Code” and understand it before flying any device of this nature in the UK. **UK law requires any person flying a drone to have direct line of sight with the drone which excludes the use of goggles however this is allowed if another responsible adult supervises the flight with the required line of sight and able to take control or interject if required. In summary, if you want a professional quality drone, keep scrolling until you get to the drones at £500+ . if you want a fantastically fun flying R/C that lets you take reasonable quality stills and video direct to memory card then go for it - it packs a lot for the price, just make sure that you don’t forget to read up on the Drone Code if you want to avoid risking a fine.

it's fantastic! the drone comes with it's own wifi to connect to the Flyingsee app so you can control what the drone sees without having to keep on putting the memory card in your PC to see if you got the right shot! i have one small issue which is muscle memory. on most if not all drones the left stick controlls going up down and flying right or left. on this controller the controls are diffrent. the left stick controls up down and turning right and left. this can get very confusing especially if you are close to a building and you loose control of the drone due to muscle mistakes D:. im sure after time i can get used to it and put it to it's potential!

Great little gadget for the price. See my review video for footage of drone flying and camera on board.
This is a great little gadget. I've always wanted a drone but didn't quite know where to start. This one seemed to offer a whole load of 'beginner' benefits such as the altitude hold, one touch take off/landing and headless mode. In the box you get 2 batteries, SD card and USB adaptor and a spare set of propellors. / / / Video \ \ \ The drone is equipped with a 720p camera. To record you need to download the app and connect to the WiFi hotspot the drone has. To see the quality see my attached video of me flying the drone and also the footage from the drone. / / / Unboxing and assembly \ \ \ The drone comes mostly assembled. Just need to screw in the propeller guards (screwdriver supplied) and push the legs on. The instructions for this aren't great but you'll get the hang of it within a few minutes. The glare guard for the remote needs to pressing on as well but I haven't done that yet. Other than, slip the enclosed SD card in (mine was in the USB adaptor) and you're ready to go. / / / Flying \ \ \ As tempting as it is - read the instructions first. Otherwise you'll do what I did and launch the thing into your TV or something. Flying the drone is actually not that hard as long you have a gentle touch. You can opt for the one touch take off but just push the left stick up and the drone will take off. It gets confusing when you spin the drone round and then the controls get reversed. That's where the headless mode comes in but I prefer not to use this and learn how to fly the drone without. / / / Notes and learnings \ \ \ If flying outside do in an open area. As mentioned by another reviewer the drone is very lightweight and outside will give in to turbulence. If flying inside keep away from anything precious such as TVs, vases and your Grandma's fine bone china sets. That said it's quite gentle and forgiving when I've smashed it into the window or something. For the price this is a great little drone for the person who is looking to get into drones without spending £500 for the serious ones made by companies like Parrot.

Avoid, unless you like repackaging and returning things! -SEE UPDATE
UPDATE : Following my review, I was contacted by the supplier asking me if if would accept a replacement as they believed my first unit was faulty. I accepted, and these are my findings on the replacement: 3 Stars The biggest difference in the replacement is that at least it would fly. The instructions are not the clearest, so this is how I got it airborne. Turn on remote and pull left stick to 6oclock and release (pairing mode) Turn on drone - lights will flash and then turn solid, remote will beep to confirm pairing. Push left stick to 5 o'clock and right to 7 o'clock positions simultaneously. Drone rotors should start. Push left stick up and drone should start to lift. Take cover as trimming settings may be wrong and drone will fly off in any direction. Fiddle with controls for a couple of minutes and battery warning sound will start. Land drone by keeping left control held in 6 o'clock position. Replace battery and start again!! Once you get the thing on the air, the controls are very sensitive and makes flying for a novice like me quite difficult. My difficulty in flying it has made sure that at least (so far) it seems robust, although it is very light and easily affected by any slight breeze. I have yet to get the position trims set correctly, this is mainly due to the fact that as I previously stated, the battery life is poor. This time I set a timer, just to make sure I wasn't tricking myself, and I got less than three minutes flying time from a freshly charged battery. OK, there are two batteries included, but the charging time (around one hour) is long enough for you to have forgotten how sensitive the controls are and get used to flying it again. I'm sure, given time, it could be mastered, and be able to get some decent footage from the, admittedly, very good camera. A supply of batteries and multi charger would be useful if the supplier could give a link to where these could be purchased. Footage from the drone on screen is good as is picture quality, but I have not yet played anything back to fully determine quality. Flying purely from the phone app is temperamental, sometimes the drone will, start sometimes not. When flying, the controls are even more sensitive than the remote. In summary, I know there are better out there. My daughter has a Parrot AR drone 2.0 which in my opinion is much, much better, easier to fly, better battery life and only around £30 more at the minute. ORIGINAL REVIEW - 1 star Had to return - faulty. Instructions were extremely difficult to follow, and were virtually useless. Could not connect drone and controller to give any sort of flight. Only button that worked was auto takeoff and that didn't work properly - it would give full power to all, one or two rotors, seemingly randomly. Although I never got it to fly, the battery life seems terrible - 2 minutes maximum whilst trying get the drone connected. It seems I'm not the only one to have the connection issue if the answer to my posted question is anything to go by. Avoid, unless you like repackaging and returning things. As usual, Amazon return faultless.

The five stars are for the aftercare. There was an issue with the batteries that the suppliers resolved very quickly. I simply need to learn to fly from now on... It's good,so buy one!
