Excellent price and perfectly capable
Perfect wee set for the pillar drill vice although don't expect the magnets to start attracting your belt buckle. The magnets are only there to secure them in situe when vice empty and/or open. Firm rubber grip and I can forsee them lasting many years and along with the price, well worth the outlay.

Perfect functional, well made and at a great price.
As a serial 'hobbyist' there's always the challenge of having enough 'hands' (and time) to tackle jobs properly. Be it a small engineering, craft or arts project, I've a couple of bench vices (one very 'small' and the other a 'medium') that I rely on. The only drawback is that both have the alloy / steel facings on the jaws; leaving me to try and work out ways to 'clamp it securely, without marking it'. The solution? A set of 'Soft Vice Jaws' to slip over the existing jaws. Silverline's offering is exactly what I needed, being both neat and effective, slotting into place with no fuss (and importantly, staying in place as well). They a small form (so don't eat into the available work size of my vice's jaws too much) and are perfectly functional, providing cushioning between the vice and work items. I think the price is also very good, given the quality of what's provided, so much so that I bough two pairs (one 'set' will given you two 'soft vice jaws', so enough for either side of one vice / clamp). It might've been nice to have a 'v-groove' of slot, for clamping some items, but that really would be just splitting hairs with something that I'll gladly recommend.

Why pay more?!
I purchased these Siverline Soft Vice Jaws to augment my Draper 38267 75 mm Bench Vice which I also bought from Amazon, and as shown by my review for that item I was very pleased with it. I respect Draper as an excellent and reliable brand, so was about to purchase Draper Expert 14178 100 mm Soft Jaw for Engineer's Vice when I noticed the Silverline (another brand I respect) equivalents. The Draper Soft Jaws are £5.54 for one (I must admit to finding it a bit odd that they are not sold as a pair?!), where as the Silverline Soft Jaws are £4.33 for a pair! This meaning that the Siverline set is approximately a third of the price of a Draper 'set'. Now, I accept this price comparison means very little if the quality offered by Silverline is below par; however, I am happy to report that this is most cetainly not the case. The Silverline Soft Jaws are strong yet light, well made, with good quality and effective rubber grips; the holding magnets on the back whilst small do offer sufficent holding power. The fact that the Soft Jaws are 100mm wide and the vice in question 75mm makes no difference to their use. Another quality product from Silverline that does exactly what it's supposed to at a very reasonable price, with the usual lifetime guarantee.

They are perfect
Having read other reviews and their problems I have a different point of view. The soft jaws grip extremely well with very little tightening and the jaws, with the aid of the magnets hold on well to the vice jaws. When closed together they do not stick together but remain firmly attached to the vice jaws as I would have expected. Having been an engineer for over 50 years I can assure you that they do what you want and would expect. I will be purchasing a 5” set for my, old but still in good nick, record vice. Buy with confidence.

Magnets not strong enough
Overall quality is ok and they provide good workpiece protection without compromising its stability however, the magnet hold is very poor and they fall off frequently whilst positioning work in the vice. Whilst not the most expensive, they weren’t the cheapest and I would have expected a better performance in real world use. Clearly designed and manufactured with inadequate testing or consumer feedback

Handy for delicate work
If you’re using a 4″ vice then you’re not likely to be doing ultra-delicate work, and if you need to protect what you’re working on, ordinary fibre grips will serve for most jobs. But these rubber ones are cheap enough, and will give you greater assurance when you want a bit of softer handling. Others have commented on the magnets themselves. I don’t know if there are different types being distributed, but mine have two circular magnets on each grip, unlike the product photograph which shows a long single strip. They don’t hold onto the vice jaws that hard. But I found them to be good enough so long as you take care with them.

Accesorio necesario, buena calidad.
Buena relación calidad/precio y bien construidos. Muy recomendable.

Great product with a great price!
Love these jaws! It is so easy and convenient to swap these between vices, and the magnets are very strong. Work great for holding onto my jewelry pieces without creating any marring. Great product with a great price!
