This product was recommended to me by my midwife during pregnancy, due to having low iron levels. I was feeling very tired so decided to give it a go. I personally do not like the taste but taken with a slug of orange juice and its ok. I didn't notice an immediate effect, just a gradual one over a couple of weeks. And now I just feel good all round, not tired, great energy levels and just generally healthy. I continued to take it throughout pregnancy and now whilst breastfeeding. I believe if I hadn't started taking it I would be really struggling and completely exhausted by now. I also think that it is particularly important for pregnancy and breastfeeding because if my vitamin and iron levels are topped up, then baby is getting what she needs too. I haven't had any colds or been ill at all since I started taking it either. I Recommend to anyone, give it a go. If you like the taste, then great, if not then its worth putting up with to reap the benefits!

My health was very poor at the beginning of the year and I found that my immunity to virus was so low that I caught everything going and in spite of taking a good quality multivitamin for women over 50 still couldn't seem to turn a corner healthwise. At one point I thought I was finished and lapsed into despair. Eventually I purchased Floradix liquid formula and within days could feel my body bouncing back. I'm not as lethargic, my general demeanor has improved and I feel great. I was planning to use Floradix for at least a year but now see it as essential to my everyday well being. I clearly was lacking something either in my diet or lifestyle and taking Floradix has given me the health boost that I desperately needed. I cannot rate it highly enough and if you're currently feeling as bad as I was at the start of this year, just try it because you've got nothing to lose and if it works for you too you'll never look back. Store in the refrigerator and never drink it directly from the bottle to avoid contaminating the formula.

This is brilliant stuff. A few years ago I used to be a blood platelet donor and donated every 2 weeks at a large London hospital. All donors were very carefully monitored and checked before each session and on one occasion I was found to be anaemic and therefore unable to donate. Due to the stringent care of donors I had to have a quick chat with the Consultant. She suggested I bought some Floradix as she said it worked wonders. Floradix was not so readily available then, but I bought some and followed the dosage. When I returned to the donor clinic my red blood count had literally soared and I had no further problems. I always have a bottle on hand, have taken it in preparation for major surgery and take it constantly throughout the winter months. It is not my favourite flavour (!) but quite palatable. I have recommended it to so many people and bought it for my daughter and elderly mother. It is also available in tablet form now which is useful, particularly when travelling as the liquid has to be refrigerated once open.

This is a good iron supplement. I had got this for my wife who had been feeling very low on energy. After taking this for a few days she felt lots better already. She is very fussy about taste but is finding this manageable. You do get a after taste of iron which lingers for a bit. It is a large bottle and you get a measuring cup. The dose recommended is 10ml twice. 30 Minutes before meals. So one in the morning and one in the evening. No digestive issues for her. She is able to tolerate it well. The ingredients seem high quality. The only thing is that it had gluten. I was looking at their leaflet and I think they do a gluten free version as well. It is amazing how gluten seems to be in so many products. Overall it is a good product though not as convenient as a tablet. I have ordered some tablets as well and will see how these compare.

This iron drink was recommended to me by a friend and I can honestly say I do not regret buying it. It does what it says on the label. Taking it as instructed I went from being very tired, listless and generally low on energy to having lots more energy in roughly a week. It took a couple of weeks for me to really feel the benefits and by the end of the 1st bottle I felt miles better. I usually take iron tablets as and when as my anaemia is usually borderline and although I'm not so keen on the taste I'll be using this instead whenever I need to 'pull myself from the edge' or recover from cold/flu or illness. My order only took a few days to arrive and (depending on the price) would have no problems buying it again through Amazon/Pharmacy Place.

Yes, I was anaemic for a while. I was prescribed iron tablets, but for a couple of reasons they weren't so good for me. I think it was a midwife friend who first mentioned Floradix. It worked for me. Because I was quite seriously anaemic I did some research and found that iron absorption is not a simple affair. In fact, most (95%?) of the iron in the iron sulphate(?) tablets doesn't get absorbed, but still causes digestive problems and so on, whereas the iron in the Floradix (and many other food sources, especially from meat and shellfish) is absorbed much better and is tolerated much better. I made sure to eat a good diet, rich in iron, and took Floradix as often as it said on the packet. It worked, and my haemoglobin level rose back up to normal in 3 or 4 months, which is as fast as theoretically possible I think, as the blood cells have a certain fixed life cycle of 120 days or so. I personally found the taste very nice. Almost too nice as it was tempting to drink more than I was supposed to. I don't think it would be dangerous to drink too much but it also won't speed up recovery from anaemia. You have to take it every day for a few months. (Taking too many iron sulphate tablets on the other hand can be fatal, and you MUST make sure to keep them away from children! The iron sulphate itself tastes really very foul indeed so they put a thick sugar coating on the pills, and children can easily mistake them for sweets.) As far as diet goes, well, unfortunately for vegetarians - and I had been a veggie for 15 years up to that point - it is rather hard to correct anaemia without eating any meat at all, although you don't need to eat much. It turns out that if you eat a little meat then even iron from non-meat food sources will be absorbed much better. I'm not sure if anyone has figued out why that is but it seems to be what studies have shown. I totally respect anyone's dietary choices but for myself, I now eat a little meat every now and then. I reckon most lamb is effectively free range and almost organic so I stick to that, and organic chicken. If you like shellfish then you're laughing. Most shellfish have huge amounts of iron which is readily absorbed. (But lobsters have no iron as they use copper instead of iron for oxygen transport.) (Shellfish may well have the same effect in increasing absorption of vegetable-source iron as meat does but I believe the studies were done with meat and not shellfish, and since I'm not sure it's known WHY meat aids absorption I can't assume that eating a little shellfish will have the same effect, but the iron in shellfish itself will be absorbed well. Mussels have as much iron as liver for example.) Floradix is safe, effective, pleasant and ethical. I would definitely take it again.

I cannot sing this product's praises enough! It is so fast acting and it really gives lasting energy. I can't absorb iron through food and i can't use prescribed iron tablets as they irritate my digestive tract. Floradix has completely sorted my iron deficiency out and I honestly feel so much better when I use it. Even my doctor told me to continue using it as I was scheduled for an iron infusion but I started taking Floradix and when i did another blood test my iron levels were so much higher that I didn't needthe infusion in the end. If you have similar circumstances I would 100% recommend it. The taste isn't the best but i drink it with fresh orange juice and that completely masks the taste for me.

Seeing as I've tried both these and the Spatone/Nelsons liquid iron sachet supplements, I decided to do a comparison between the two in case people are undecided upon which one to get. I preferred the Spatone sachets to the liquid Floradix iron supplement for several reasons. Both are really good iron supplements, but I've found that the Spatone sachets are far easier to use in everyday life. The Floradix bottle needs to be kept refrigerated when opened which can give you hassle if you're not having a meal at home. It has to be taken 30 minutes before meals (the Spatone sachets also recommend taking them at certain times, but seem far more flexible as to when you can take them). You also have to measure out the exact amount of liquid each time with Floradix, which just adds to the hassle factor. I don't mind making an effort to stay healthy, but I am of the opinion that if a product is more convenient to take regularly, it is far less likely that you'll forget to take it and therefore more effective. The Floradix supplement was good and I felt noticeably less tired. However, the Spatone sachets are simply far less hassle and taste nicer as well in my opinion. I'd recommend trying both to see which one you prefer.

This is my second pregnancy taking Floradix. First time around I tested quite anemic and my midwife recommended I start Floradix right away. Just taking the normal dose for a few weeks I was able to bring my numbers well in to the normal range, and thanks to Floradix have the out of hospital birth I wanted. This pregnancy I started taking it preemptively around 20 weeks. Currently nearing 29 weeks and feeling much less fatigue then I did with the first pregnancy. Haven't had my levels tested yet, but as good as I feel this time I'm feeling pretty confident (will update after testing). I also enjoy the taste, kind of a nondescript fruit flavor. We are a vegetarian family and my son is a VERY picky eater so I've been worried about his iron. Started sneaking the kid size dose into his orange juice and even with his almost extra sensory ability to detect whenever I try to change his food in the slightest, it has gone undetected for the several weeks I've been giving it to him. And the dark circles under his eyes have improved! All in all I'm thoroughly satisfied with this product and intend to continue it with my family. :)
