super pump!!
works great in my 40 gallon reef tank. provides a Nice soft river of lots of flow. Not at all like magjets or other filter type pumps that produce less gpm but annoyingly powerfull jet-streams that push everything out of the way. So if you need lots of flow but dont need a jetstream then get this. I also have a 800 model in a 20 gallon tank. And Have a 400 model, I don't reccomend the 400 or smaller sizes of these in anything, including mini cubes cause they don't push water at all. get at least a 600 for a nano tank unless it is less than 10 gallons. bigger tanks like a 30 gallon get at least 800gpm, and bigger tanks any normal sized tank this 1500gpm is fine. Also have a model that does 2200gpm or 2600gpm recommend in a tank of at least 100 gallons or bigger. 20x flow is no problem for a tank and apparently neither is 35x, though I do have this on a hydor smart wave set to flow on/off at 10minutes at a time.

Very quiet and efficient
Second time buying this pump. First one last over 7 years. Great product. Doing its job in my 90 gallons saltwater tank

Great. Just dont shock yourself.
I bought several of these and they did great. Until one decided to route electricity into the tank. Tickle tank is NOT fun. Be careful putting electronics in salt water. Great product though.

Koralia wave pumps rarely disappoint but aren't long-lived
I have used probably every size of these powerheads over the last decade, and they all move an impressive amount of water for their size and cost. They work well for a while, but most of the pumps of this kind eventually start to reverse their direction and don't really move any water at that point. Sometimes you can fix that suction problem by removing and cleaning or replacing the impeller, but often at that stage I just have to toss the pumps. However, these are inexpensive enough and they last long enough that you can still get a good value from them. These are a great inexpensive way to add extra flow in different parts of your tank that you wouldn't want to put a super powerful pump, so these are a versatile way to complement other pumps. Since they come in a wide variety of sizes, there's basically one for every power level or size needed. The magnets also stick well, but stay within the recommended thickness on the package.

Have tried others; but, I just keep coming back to Hydor Koralia pumps!
Have tried others; but, I just keep coming back to Hydor Koralia pumps! I utilize four of these in my 240 gallon African Cichlid tank to move water and agitate the surface for oxygenation. The water flow pattern is gentle and wide and my fish LOVE these. Isn't uncommon to see the fish playing in the current these create. I have tried a couple of other brands which have all wound up being tossed in favor of these well made pumps. The magnetic/suction combo is enough to keep these attached to my 5/8" thick aquarium glass. This is a rare feature to find and works very well. Quiet, reliable, well made, easy to clean. Nothing not to love!

Whisper quiet
I put this in my 120 gallon aquarium and this is the best pump out there. The magnet is VERY strong. I placed it in the upper right corner of my tank and it works great because it moves the surface water throughout the whole tank. My tank is 5 feet long and i can see the ripples on the other end. The pump itself is very quiet. You can also adjust the direction of the water flow which make it very convenient.

Extremely disappointed
Again the same noise using the smartwave controller - I do not recommend buying this product to use it with a smartwave, I did the same mistake twice. I bought the controller along with 2 koralia hydor 1400/1500 one from day one was making the real annoying noise when start kick of the controller and the second one notice later that is not making noise but it goes backwards from time to time almost one start correct one start backwards.... Real Bad! This is the third hydor Pump 1400/1500 I bought and I was hoping that it was just that one time, but no! I was wrong ! This new Koralia is also making too much noise at start - not good for the fish - annoying for the house - a bad investment of your money. I paid around $210 for the 3 pumps and the controller and really regret it as with a nit more of money could have bought a Vortech mp10.

Pretty great!
Been a couple months that I have had the 1500GPH pump in my Reef Aquarium, and I really like it so far. It's super quiet (silent, maybe, but everything else in the tank is louder at least). It also super powerful, so I aim it pretty steeply upward so I don't blow the sand around (as if my damsel doesn't do that regardless). I would not recommend if used with a wave maker plug, because the repeated on-off is actually loud. However mine is on constant, and no complaints so far, just less stagnant water and more surface agitation than I had before.

Powerful and silent
I bought the 1400gph wave maker for my 90gallon 4ft tank and I must say this unit is very good, the build quality is great and best thing is that it is very SILENT! Have to bring my ear close to the wave maker to hear it. Initially I had some minor rattling from the plastic cage at times, but simple solution was to put a black snugly around the front and back part of the cage and that solved it. I tried several other lower cost Wavemakers of this size but ended up returning them all due to noise issues.

It works well
When compared to the Power head Maxi Jet Pro 1200. This one is far better quality. I started having trouble with the Maxi Jet Pro after just a couple of days. I returned it and got this one. I am much happier with this Hydor Pump. It's a little more pricey, But worth it, because it works and and hasn't given me problems like the other one did. Thank you for making a product that is much less problematic and the magnetic mounting brackets are a nice touch.

Great circulation pumps for 75 gallon marine aquarium.
The Hydor Koralia Evolution 1400/1500 circulation pump arrived quickly and in good working order. It's now installed in my 75 gallon marine aquarium. It's quiet and has good flow. I like how the new pumps have the fish guard built-in. My old circulation pumps had guards that had to be attached and while they were in use for quite some time they did fall off which can be an inconvenience to retrieve from the bottom of the tank.
