Amazing Sound Control and Value for Money!
I recently purchased the Digitech RP55, and I must say, I'm thoroughly impressed with this compact multi-effects processor. This little box packs a big punch when it comes to versatility and sound quality. Whether you're a seasoned guitarist or just starting out, the RP55 is an incredible addition to your gear collection. The first thing that struck me was the build quality. It's compact, sturdy, and perfect for gigging or home use. The interface is incredibly user-friendly, making it easy to dive right into tweaking your tones. With 11 amp models and 20 studio-quality effects, the RP55 offers a wide array of options to shape your sound, from clean and crisp to heavy and distorted. What really stands out is the sound quality. The amp modeling is impressive, and the effects are top-notch. I was particularly impressed with the quality of the reverb and delay effects – they add depth and dimension to my playing. The built-in drum machine and tuner are great additions, making practice sessions more productive. One of the biggest selling points for me was the value for money. For the price, the RP55 offers features and sound quality that are usually found in more expensive units. It's a cost-effective way to experiment with various tones and effects without breaking the bank. Whether you're a beginner looking to explore your sound or a seasoned musician in need of a portable and reliable multi-effects processor, the Digitech RP55 is an excellent choice. Its sound quality, ease of use, and affordability make it a fantastic addition to any guitarist's arsenal. I highly recommend the RP55 to anyone seeking a versatile and budget-friendly solution for their effects needs. You won't be disappointed!

Good amp modeling and good value at this price
I paid £32 for it from here and for this price you cant complain much. The amp modeling sounds good and it does a good job at attempting to sound like a blackface, VOX and others. Theres loads of effects on it to play with and the unit is fairly basic to use, which I think is a good thing. Compared it next to my zoom g3x and the zoom has a lot more sound and it does sound better overall but there is so much on it for me its over the top at times and it does cost quite a bit more than this too. This digitech pedal is also extremely compact which is a bonus about the size of two'ish stomp boxes so its really neat. Drum machine is limited and not that much variation in sound but its not bad, the tempo and level can be adjusted. One thing I didn't like was the chorus effect I was going to buy a dedicated chorus pedal, till I saw this and thought it was a bonus to have every thing else in a compact pedal but the chorus effect to me was rubbish, real cheap fake sounding ( I know its digital anyway but I just thought it sounded real bad.) I didn't try all its features but there are some good default preset sounds on there and it's a great tool if your on a budget as most of it sounds nice, especially the amp sims. I had no noise issues with my unit it was nice and clean.

modelling has come a long way
This tiny box of tricks is a superb tool for the price. It is lightweight and I wouldnt trust it to be hugely gig friendly, but if you are a little gentle with it it should last. The sounds as it arrives are good starting points, but the fun really starts when you make your own. Amp models are great, modulation effects are very usable, and within a few minutes you can have some super bespoke patches stored. Ignore many of the youtube videos with truly terrible bedroom players - look a the video by Harry Maes to see what this really can sound like with a good player. Noisy? - nope - one of the best noise gates I have seen on this type of pedal Dont overdo the level of gain, keep the effects subtle and you can get a superb sound. The cab emulator mode allows it to be run through a PA directly, and it sounds much much better than it has any right to. Dont have the room to carry your amp to a gig? No problem - bring this with a stereo jack to x 2 xlr cable and run in stereo though the PA. Fo 30 quid? bargain ******* edit - having spent some quality time with this setting up some presets for my son who is playing some gigs in England soon and cant carry his rig with him, I`m impressed. We have some great JCM like classic rock patches, some great leads, some heavier sounding more overdriven patches. All levels equalized and it sounds like the dogs through a PA. Of note...before you run through a PA press the drum button whilst plugging in a lead on the input side. It switches the emulated output on which really does make it sound indistinguishable from a mic-ed up cab. Having played with stuff like this for years from line 6 and Roland, this kicks those into the weeds. Doesnt sound digital at all...so long as you take your time. No idea where the "noisy" reviews come from, this unit is quiet - just engage the noise gate in the settings

Good price for what it is.
Bought this for the drum machine. It is disappointing through a decent amp. The sound bank is decent enough and for just starting out a lot cheaper than a BOSSME. Jamming along with the drum machine is annoying because the drum machine is quieter than the guitar. Fiddled with guitar and amp but no joy. Plus points is that it is portable and used with a small amp works well. Not for the larger amps though.

For home use this is utterly brilliant.
I've been gigging for years and generally use an old Boss GT3 but I just wanted something small for home practice. I've already got a number of over-drive, chorus pedals, etc and was going to buy a compressor but then stumbled across this multi-effect pedal. For £25 !! Twenty five pounds will just about buy a basic over-drive so to get a multi-effect is just staggering. Ok, it's very lightweight and I wouldn't use it for gigging with but for home practice or a beginner it's absolutely perfect. There is a good range of effects (20 in total and 8 at once), 40 user patches and another 40 factory presets. The user and factory presets are the same but you can edit the user patches. There may be occassions when the two effects that I want to use may not both be available e.g. humbucker simulator and wah are under the same parameter so you can't use both at the same time. But for this sort of money I'm not complaining. This can sometimes be an issue on pedals costing hundreds. The effects are quite reasonable in quality and editing is at a very basic level. To adjust an effect there is just one parameter so it's a case of just more or less of something. For example, with chorus you can't alter speed, depth, etc individually. You just adjust the amount of chorus up or down. In general I found this quite acceptable and it was very quick and easy to adjust effects. Construction is lightweight being made of plastic. One the back there is an input, left and right output, expression pedal input and a power input. It takes a standard 9 volt DC power supply or AA batteries. I use and old Boss power supply for mine. Considering the price I would highly recommend this pedal.

Perfect Beginner Effects Pedal
I'm just starting to learn the electric guitar, and wanted a cheap little effects box to play around with. The Digitech RP55 is the perfect accessory. I don't yet have an amplifier (and I like to keep on speaking terms with my neighbours), so I'm just using the RP55 with a Stagg Power Adapter (essential) straight into a decent pair of headphones. There's no hum or unwanted noise. The sound is great. I don't really have anything to compare it to, but for me as a beginner there's more than enough features and effects to keep me satisfied. Obviously for such a low cost it doesn't quite emulate the impressive effects-laden sounds you're used to from artists such as Morello, Satriani, Vai etc - but does a pretty damn good job once you figure out the settings. The only drawbacks for me are the fact that it doesn't come bundled with an AC Adapter, and the lightweight build quality make it seem quite fragile. It can be a little complex to begin with, but that's soon overcome with experience. Try Googling for RP55 Patches and you'll find some good starting points to really dial in a tone. For less than £30, you really can't go wrong. Sure, in time I'll probably 'grow out' of the effects it can provide - but as a whole it's a very impressive piece of kit. If you're on the fence like I was, just buy it - I'm sure you'll love it.

pretty good pedal at a reasonable price
Loads of built in effects along with a built in drummer (drum patterns are quite generic) scope for fine tuning your own effects, if a little bit fiddly to do. Build is a little plasticky so I'm not sure how well it would stand up to constant use or a gig setting. Great fun for just noodling around at home though. The only "issue" I've had so far is that I found it a bit tricky to close off the current effect due to having to press both pedals, seemingly VERY precisely together. This may be down to it needing to "wear in" a bit or down to getting the technique spot on, I had no problems getting it to cut back in so that may be it. Overall quite pleased with the quality and sounds for the price. I can't comment on the longevity of the battery in use, as I have only ever used it with a power supply up to now. Proffesional player - not sure this is for you, but that is very subjective. Home player - this is definately worth a punt, especially if like myself, you are new to the use of effects pedals or don't have the kind of money you'd need to have a raft of dedicated effect pedals. Give it a go and you shouldn't be too disappointed

Cheap and cheerful, for a while.
I bought this because it was cheap and people said it sounded good. I used it quite a bit and one day it just stopped working. Tried doing the factory reset but nothing. Now it's just a brick. It only lasted just over a year... planned obsolescence?

OMG.... Heaven On Earth!!!
WOW!!! I've had this effect pedal for a bit over a month and this thing ROCKS!!! I play all kinds of Rock, be it Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Alt-Rock, or even some Southern Rock and a touch of Country-Rock... and this pedal does it all!!! Even the factory settings are cool. They aren't laid out in a quick to get to fashion, but perhaps if I actually read the user manual I might learn how to move the settings into a "quicker" pattern. They are "tweekable", which makes this thing awesome!! I've been playing for 36 years and I've used THE BEST effect pedals ever made... The RP55 is an awesome unit for the puny price it sells for... I highly recommend it to anyone, beginner, expert or especially the players "In-Between". The ONLY negative thing I could say about this unit, is that I wish it had a good old fashioned "on / off" button or switch... Bypassing it is very easy, but if ya want to turn it off, ya have to unplug your guitar input cord... Kinda dumb... but otherwise a GREAT unit!!!
