Amazing toaster.
Amazing toaster. Pricey but well worth paying a bit extra for. Looks great (I chose canvas white) & toasts perfectly. I love that I can use the lever to see if the toast is ready mid toast. Would recommend.

Perfect toast, but at this price it pretty well should be.
Perfect toast, but at this price it pretty well should be. Bought to replace a 'cheap' Aldi toaster which was OK but I particularly wanted the ability to do 'one side only' toasting for teacakes and bagels. This achieves this perfectly. The slightly uneven toasting on the pictured teacake is down to the way I cut it. It does really nice toast, as you can see I like my toast pretty well done and crispy so this was done on setting '4'. The teacake was on setting '3'. The bread is ASDA's Exceptional seeded loaf and the teacake is a Warburtons. Mine is the two slice version which is perfect for a two person household like ours. With a bit of experimentation you will get 100% perfect toast/breads exactly to your liking. We used Dualit toasters at work so I wanted one from home due to the longevity. This is a 'Lite' version but hopefully will also last a long time. Yes its expensive for a toaster, other named brand versions can be had for less but I was happy to pay what I did, £75 because so far it works to well. It looks very well built, the elemenets in particular lok thicker and more robust than the ones in the much cheaper (£7 on offer!!!) Aldi Ambio one it replaces. That will be going in the caravan. So yes I am happy to give it 5 stars and recommend it.

Good, but possible quality control issue
I bought this toaster several months ago and after an initial problem it has toasted quickly, evenly and consistently. However, as others have mentioned, when first used one of the sides of the cage that should hold the slice in the correct position was caught on the element support. It was quite easy they lever it free but suggests poor quality control. It might also explain why some users report it toasting unevenly! Other than this issue it has performed perfectly.

Classy-Looking Toaster
Absolutely LOVE this Dualit 2 Slice Lite Toaster - a 2 slice option is perfect for me. It's very stylish and looks super-classy on my worktop, next to my new black and chrome kettle. It took a few attempts to get the correct shade of brown but now it toasts perfectly every time, albeit slightly stripy-looking. I've so far only tried it with different supermarket variations of Tiger bread and, so far, all sizes have fitted into the slots with no problems. It feels robust and the controls are easy to use. Some of the negative reviews did put me off and the price also caused me to wince, but as my old toaster lasted 30+ years (not Dualit), I figured I deserved a nice new classy-looking toaster! Very glad I ordered it and I hope it lasts me for many years to come.

First Class Toaster.
Nice looking toaster that fits in well with our kitchen decor. I used another brand for 10 years and decided to give this a go, and pleased we did. Simple to use. It is faster than our previous and toasts evenly without drying out the bread. Crumpets heat through with good results. Hope it lasts. Highly recommended.

Poor Quality Toaster Produced in China and Poor Customer Service
We had a disappointing experience with this product and Dualit customer service. We treated ourselves to what we thought was a good quality, "iconic" (to quote Dualit's description) product. The premium pricing further mislead us to think that we were getting a quality product. The toaster completely stopped working not long after the warranty ended. We only had the toaster just over 2 years. We followed the instructions on their website to return it for repair. As we mistakenly thought it was a valuable Dualit product, we spent extra money to send it registered post. As we could see it had arrived the day after we had posted it, we contacted them after two weeks of no update, only to be told that the toaster was not part of their classic range so they would not support its maintenance outside of the warranty, albeit, just months after the warranty had expired. We bought what we thought was a good quality toaster to avoid it being part of the throw-away culture. Dualit did kindly offer to dispose of the useless toaster on our behalf, so we did not avoid impacting the environment with a poor-quality appliance. Worse, we were told that, despite paying significantly more than an average standard toaster, this model was mass produced in China and wasn't hand made in Britain as the "iconic" adjective in the product description would suggest. Having got nowhere with customer service, we appealed to Alex Gort-Barten, Director of Sales and Marketing, and were again ignored. After a month and a half, we have opted to cut our losses and warn other consumers that this is not necessarily a reliable product as the premium price implies nor carries the "iconic" reputation of Dualit as suggested in the description. We have had cheaper toasters that have lasted much longer than just over 24 months, so were much better value. Save your money and buy a standard toaster that was likely made in the same Chinese factory as this one but is priced more reflectively of its mass produced nature.

Bought for a second time
It’s rare in life that I buy the same item twice. Well I owned the toaster prior to this for 7 years I only replaced it as the older one was looking tatty. Yes it never broke in 7 years. Be aware over time the paint will wear down that indicates the timer duration bagel and frozen settings, however by the time it does you will have used it that much you are fully aware of all the functions How does it toast? - Very well nice and even. Will it fit a Warbutons Toasty slice? - Yes but it will leave the top of the slice underdone, I used flip it half way through and this was easy using the large manual handle. This action does not turn off the cooking cycle and or heating elements and made the toast more than acceptable. We bake our own bread now hence why this is now a non issue. The cooking area is larger any previous toaster Iv had. The toaster is well built, it’s not rebuildable like Dualit toaster higher up the range, however in 7 years it was still toasting happily. In short so good we bought it twice.

More Toast Please
I've lost count at the number of toasters I've got through over the years, some fancy, some basic, some would warm, some defrost, some with a stainless steel case, some plastic but they all have had one thing in common, they didn't toast.... ... And only realised none of them toasted since last year when the dualit arrived..... all this time i've put up with machines that just don't work. Its an odd thing to try and describe, I can't put my finger on any particular reason why the dualit is different other than to comment that since it's sat neatly on the worktop its been used several times everyday whereas before the toaster would rarely be used more than once a fortnight. Perhaps some plus points might help to describe why its a proper toaster. * It takes most sizes of bread ( from Morrisons instore multigrain to sainsbury's batch - both huge slices) * controls are simple, somewhat retro but feel good and they work * consistent results which enables more accurate settings from my memory * Toasted sandwiches in toaster bags - slots wide enough to take a decent filling Having had the machine for nearly a year it has not stopped making great toast and has been 100% reliable. In operation, each slot has a sprung bread holder which widens if you prefer toasted doorsteps (or sandwiches / half a currant bun).. to check the toast whilst 'cooking' just pull up the lever... the elements stay on. the rotary dial for each half is marked from 1 to 8 , and there are four steps between each number (which suggest there are 28 different settings - (theres no 0)) in the centre of the rotary dial is a cancel button. the other two buttons are for defrost and one that only operates one side of the element - if you like your toast half done. It's light and immediately out of the box this gave me the impression of not the best build quality.... though as soon as the controls are used its quality seems better and after a year I can't fault it..... other than I couldn't find the crumb tray for a while and was convinced I had to hold the unit upside down & shake it to get the bits out... I should have read the instructions!

Faire attention
Appareil avec prise européenne. Adaptateur fourni.
