VTech CS1501 DECT Cordless Phone with Call Block, 2 Handsets, Intercom, Landline House Phones, White, Caller ID/Call Waiting, Redial, Handsfree, illuminated Display and Keypad

My other house phone suddenly died and there was no fixing it. So I had to get a new one. Our house is in an area where we get no mobile signal, so the house phone is essential. I looked at a few but this one caught my eye as it was cheap and it had good reviews. It arrived quickly and well packaged. It was easy to get set up and we have had no trouble at all with it. The ring tone is a bit loud and it is unusual sounding so it makes us jump when it rings, but know we will get used to it. The only difficult thing, for me, is that it has no answering machine to blink if you have a message, you must remember to call 1571to collect any messages. You are aware of a message only when you go to make a call as the dial tone changes to something similar to an engaged signal. You can still make the call without having to check the message but I struggle to remember to listen to the dial tone when I get back to check if I have any messages. But that is something I will eventually get used to or will just buy an old school answering machine. I do like the phone though, it is comfortable to use and the caller ID is so useful for avoiding cold callers. The speaker phone option to the phone is fantastic! You do not need to be overly close for folks on the other end to hear everyone clearly. Our other phone you could not do that. So it made our holiday calls last month so much easier. I would certainly recommend this phone for anyone needing a house phone and especially for the elderly who are slightly hard of hearing, as the volume can go up extremely loud if necessary. We don’t need to have it up high but it is a feature to be aware of as it can be a problem with other phones.

Good and inexpensive phones. Work well in tandem and connect to my broadband router via virginmedia. However the ring tone isn't too loud, the choice of alternative ringtones is limited, and the screen can be fairly hard to read. But works well for me

Very difficult for Openreach to connect; it took 2 visits to my home & 2 or 3 back to their connection "junction boxes", (whatever they're called?) Phones not easy to set up (except date & time) and I still don't know if I have any new messages when I return home. The very meagre instructions are in tiny print in a tiny booklet, so have had to download full-size booklet and a fortnight later I'm still working through it.

Excellent value for money, full of features, easlily heard, white face means easy to read. Good grip excellent sending and receiving values.

Easy to set up, pretty self explanatory when unboxing, take packing off, put batteries in and plug in. Easy to set up phone, the ring tones are bit wild and loud but will certainly get your attention when it rings. Seems a good phone, no complaints so far, would I buy again…. Probably if I needed more phones

Works with the new digital voice changeovers. I did have to buy a separate longer phone cable as the one in the box is very short. Works well. Ringtones are lacking and very annoying tones though, there is no simple phone ringer, just these crazy tunes. Easy to use, easy to set up though and will work fine for the odd phone call given the mobile signal where I am is shocking. Sound quality is fine, not amazing, not terrible.

Handset 2 has stopped working, I installed both handsets on Sunday 15th February, 26. Today Wednesday the 18th February, handset 2 stopped working whilst I was dialling out. The cradle is plugged in, the batteries are in correctly, I have unplugged the cradle and plugged it in elsewhere in case it was the socket, but it still isn't working the screen is blank and there is no dial tone. Please advise what I should do. I'm not happy with this as I rely on the land line for dialing out to my clients.

These didn’t have right plug for me however was able to give to someone from overseas who are using then and recommend them.

The buttons are squishy making the hard to press, the display font is difficult to read and the phone cable provided won't fit standard wall outlet in Saudi

Das Telefon ist für den einfachen Gebrauch oke. Es ist einfach und zu handhaben. Es erklärt sich von selbst. Hat tolle Funktionen. Allerdings muss ich bemängeln, dass man während des Telefonats nicht die Lautstärke erhöhen kann, sodass man manchmal leider die andere Person nicht gut verstehen kann.
