You can make coils of this wire, run electricity though it, and get it to glow yellow-orange hot. However, it has a very low electrical resistance, so you need a low voltage and high current unless you use a very long piece of the wire.

I make my own ceramic jewelry, and need wire that will withstand the high temperatures inside a kiln. This wire is sturdy, but at this gauge, still flexible enough to bend and cut easily. The only problem I had is that I had to take off the outer plastic ring in order to unwind it, and that caused the whole spool to unravel at once.
