Great to tap into usb power for 12V computer fan
Super easy way to tap power from usb port to power a 12V computer fan. I use it to control a PWM fan and it works really well, allowing me to adjust full spectrum of speeds.

Works fine
I've bought it to adapt a 4-pin 80mm fan to be used with an USB port. Turns out it works really fine. I've tried with a 120mm fan but the USB port won't provide enough power I guess. Since I needed it to be used with 80mm fans, I haven't tried but maybe using it with a 12V USB power adapter could work with 120mm fans.

Coil whine when using stronger fans
I am very pleased that this works. In fact, it works very well.The cable length is a bit long for my use case, but it I just wrapped the loose ends with some cable ties.The connector is to a usb type a, which is nice because it can be used on most laptops.The connector is compatible with 4 pin PWM fans, but it only has 2 pins, being 12v and ground pins. It uses a potentiometer to control the voltage to the fans.The build quality is quite rigid. Little to no cheap feeling. The controller feels heavy duty, but not water proof or dust proof. It does feel like quality parts were used, however, I noticed that there is some coil whine when using a fan that requires more energy. It's not loud or bothersome, but just something to note.

Works as intended
Not much to say about this other than it works as intended. Variable speed control but I’m not sure it’s actually outputting 12v. It is still perfect for what I needed and I’d buy this again if I have another project.

Underpowered for Noctua NF-A20 200mm fan, annoying ticking from controller.
Even at full speed, which should be the step up to 12V, my 200mm Noctua fan requires a "push start" to work with this and even then it only gets up to a fraction of its maximum speed, despite only needing 0.96W. I'm assuming the amps just aren't there after the 12V conversion, and I know the issue is not my USB source(s) I've tried. I can't find the amp supply anywhere on the product info as well, sadly.There's also an audible electronic ticking noise that comes from inside the speed controller that is persistent and obnoxious.Just seems underpowered for a 200mm fan. Look elsewhere if your needs are that beefy.

Nice to have a fan control wheel
love that it got a fan speed control wheel and power on/off button so that i can tweak my fan when when required. It’s also easy to install, just plug and play. Cable is relatively long (like around 2m after connecting both sides)

Funktioniert
Die USB Lüftersteuerung ist genau wonach ich gesucht habe, ich nutze es um damit meinen Arbeitslaptop zu Kühlen, hatte noch 2x Noctua Lüfter und ein Y-Kabel rumliegen, welche ich mit ein paar Schrauben als Abstandhalter(zum Boden) unter meinen Laptop gestellt hab, jetzt ist er dauerhaft ruhig. Die Lüfter gehen an wenn der Laptop angeht und gehen aus wenn der Laptop aus b.z.w. in den Energiesparmodus geht. Man kann mit dem Rädchen die Geschwindigkeit steuern, was bei meinen Lüftern auch tadellos funktioniert obwohl es eigentlich PWM-Lüfter sind.
