This is such a cool speaker with big sound. I use it on a window in my cafe with a piece of foam under it to relieve pressure from the suction cup although it's pretty secure, I don't trust anything lol. On the large front window, it fills the lobby with music, and has the bonus function of also playing music on the outside of the window. I tested this by putting it on my second floor bedroom floor, and then coming downstairs, and it sounded as if there was a concert in my ceiling clear as day. Not even my 5.1 surround sound system can do that, not with that clarity.

Battery life holds a decent charge and can last for hours. This works great when set upon a laptop to enhance the sound of low speakers. The suction works well, and adheres to practically any type of smooth, flat surface. It was easy to pair/connect the speaker to the device, and powered up almost instantaneously. Great little speaker that my boyfriend uses every opportunity given.

First, I want to set the tone for what this is. Bone conducting/vibrating speakers will not reproduce the same level of quality of sound that a traditional speaker will do. If you're looking for robust bass and crispy highs, you need to look elsewhere. With that out of the way, this small, but hefty little device is incredibly surprising. Operation on the speaker itself is only done with a simple switch to toggle from always on, off, and bluetooth. Pairing is short and sweet. Volume control is entirely done on the source device. The bottom of the device is a little suction cup to allow it to stick to just about any surface you may come across, including windows. When you play music, it pushes the sound and vibrations through the base to produce the overall sound into whatever surface you attached it to. I find that it works best on glass, but experiment in your environment to see what works. If you do put it on a window, be mindful of who or what is on the other side as it WILL push the music to the other side. DO NOT be a jerk and attach it to your aquarium or take it with you to an aquarium. You can cause serious harm to fish because of the vibrational sound. One criticism and why I only give the device 3 stars, is the manufacturer should have included better instructions for pairing, general use, and caution - rather than an oversimplified explanation for pairing and nothing else printed on the back of the box. For example, I had to go through some trial and error to figure out how to pair to a different device. If you want to pair the speaker to a different device, you must delete the speaker from the paired source device while it's connected so that it will go back to pairing mode.

The sound quality seems to vary depending on the surface. If it’s placed on a wooden surface, the bass sounds a little muddy, but sounds appear to travel farther. It likely has something to do with the density of the object, because if it's placed on a denser surface like one of those school tables, then the base doesn’t sound nearly as distorted. Regardless, I would absolutely recommend experimenting with different surfaces and objects to place this on. Personally, I find it better on wood, but with something placed underneath it, like a plastic card or something. Do NOT stick it vertically, like on a wall. The speaker itself is heavy and the pathetic suction cup on the bottom makes it useless for vertical mounting. I just placed on my solid wood bedframe, and I could easily slide it around just from barely touching it. It fell off as soon as soon as I connected a bluetooth device. They also provide you with an extra adhesive suction cup, but I'm not sure if that's supposed to go on the other side or if it's a backup. For the size, the speaker is actually not bad in terms of sound quality. The speaker itself is actually quite heavy which probably speaks for the sound quality. However, the surface definitely plays a role and sound quality and volume. If you tried placing this on a sturdy surface that doesn't allow sound to pass through, it will sound pretty quiet. However, if you place this on a wooden book case, it can be heard from the next room over. When it disconnects from a bluetooth device, it makes a pretty loud "pop", almost like the speaker blew out. It definitely gave me a fright the first time around. Overall, this could be a fun little gag toy to bring to small parties and even use as a standard speaker if you don't have much room for standard-size speakers. Just make sure that you don't have too many light objects that can roll around from the slightest vibration.

I really wanted to give this five stars because it’s a load of fun. But I’m not sure it is a practical replacement for a good standard Bluetooth speaker. It is a great demonstration of scientific principles though. And so it can be a great educational tool because you can use it during an explanation of of vibration and sound waves for a science class. And a music class. The build quality is excellent. It is a matte black precision machined metal cylinder that is all magnet and battery. The build quality is very nice with A quality fit and finish. And of course it’s quite heavy for its size. It comes with an extra suction cup that I’ve already managed to lose. The suction cup is barely that and is extremely low profile. I think it just is supposed to stick enough that the unit doesn’t vibrate away. This is essentially a speaker driver without the rest of the speaker, mainly the cone. On my speakers this is typically the circular thing that is dome shaped and made of paper or polymer. This device would be the magnet thing that you see on the back of speakers. You said this driver down on any surface and it turns that surface into the sound generator. By putting this device on the sound box of various musical instruments such as guitars and violins you can see how their structure and materials affects their sound. Put it on a drum head for a very interesting effect. From a practical standpoint this speaker actually works and depending upon where you put it, can produce sound of surprising clarity and volume. It’s much louder than a speaker of that size because essentially this unit is all driver. That is a fairly big speaker driver. I probably won’t use this to listen to music but for audiobooks and podcasts and even videos this thing can be phenomenal. Again it is important to note it is totally dependent on what you stick it onto to generate the sound. ( it has a small suction cup which is why I say stick but you just essentially set this down on a surface ) You just has to experiment but you can set this thing on any horizontal surface and it will generate sound from interesting to horrible to surprisingly good. I do think it’s less of a novelty now because they do make Bluetooth speakers about the same size that put out a surprisingly large amount of sound even if it’s not all that clear. The smaller speakers tend to break up and like fidelity when you use them at louder volumes. But in the era before smart phones where micro portable sound was not such a priority, this thing would’ve been a real conversation starter. It remains to be seen whether or not this ends up being used more as a practical device or a curiosity but it certainly has the potential for either. I was surprised at just how clear the sound can actually be and equally surprised at how the sound can fill up a room. I got some surprisingly results from glass and marble countertops. With most surfaces you’re going to get a fair amount of distortion. I turned my espresso machine into a speaker and it sounded surprisingly good. And the best results generally come from thin Materials, usually wood or plastic that can vibrate well. But even thin metal will give you some good results. An interesting thing occurred when I put it on the toilet seat, not only did it sound great but I got a significant amount of reverb from the bowl. You will probably have to play around and decide where it works the best if you want to use it as a serious speaker. You could even experiment with building your own sound boxes. That would be a great project for the school room as well or if you have kids that are interested in the sciences, audio or musing it could be a great home project. The fact that this has a mechanical sliding switch to turn it on is something that absolutely fills me with joy. I am so tired of the ‘press to hold buttons’ is that turn most things on these days. It does have a line-in but it is curiously only for a USB device that will output 2 channel audio over a micro USB connector along with power. So that is only going to work with a computer functioning as a Usb soundcard. You cannot use a line in from regular audio device, for that you will move the switch over to Bluetooth. Even if I wanted to give this five stars and I’m really heavily leaning at 4 1/2 but the micro USB instead of USB-C in the year 2023 is just no longer excusable. It is getting harder and harder to take any device seriously that still uses micro-USB. I would definitely suggest adding a 3.5 mm audio jack and the USB-C to the next iteration of this product Because this is surprisingly good sounding under the right conditions and it is just incredibly fun to use and play around with I’m giving it four stars with the caveat that if this is the only money you have and you want a Bluetooth speaker this probably should not your first choice. I would save that money and put it toward as high a quality Bluetooth speaker that you can afford. There are no shortages of those here on Amazon. But if you already have a good speaker and/or you are the curious type that likes to tinker and experiment with things and can afford the rather steep price of this thing, I think you will enjoy it.
