Great value
I didn’t expect the product to be so well made, it’s an all metal case and is built like a battleship. It has more sounds than you can shake a stick at, not all useable for sure, but plenty that are. Everything is tweekable, but the user interface is not the best, but having said that, you soon get used to it. I can’t tell the difference between the quality of the sounds from this and a boss multi effects I have, and this is much more compact for home use which is what I wanted it for. One thing I really love about it, is the real easy to use drum machine Overall Im really pleased with it and would recommend it.

The amp sim effect takes 2 slots
Even though it's advertised that 7 effects cab be used at once, the amp simulators take up 2 effect slots. And you will also need to allocate slots for looper and drum machine. That's kinda misleading.

Great unit but what's with the Euro plug and Japanese manual.
A fantastic unit. Shame it came with a two pin plug and attachment and a manual in Japanese. Looks like I'm going to have to look for a English version of the manual. Would certainly recommend the unit.

Very good sound.
I bought this pedal as a present for my boyfriend and it works how I expected. Very good sound.

Too complicated to use the Zoom G3n
You need to be prepared to spend months working out what's what, my first two Zooms were more user friendlier than this one. I think they have just got too complicated to use. After reading the manual and watching countless videos so far I've only managed to use the tuner, switch from patch to patch and install the software, the rest is one big headache. As soon as you start trying to edit these things that's where it really gets really too complicated. I think I need to go back to my boss.

Simple Layout - Excellent Sounds For The Budget
I have to commend Zoom for making such an intuitive multi-effects for the cheaper price brackets. I picked this up from another online retailer for £109 new, and I must say its killer for the price. I have tested it with a Boss Katana 50, a Blackstar HT60 Mk2 and straight into my mixer/interface, and I can say : Pros: 1 - Sounds and Effects : generally really good! I think the G3n does a lot of the higher gain stuff well, but it has surprised me with the nuances of some of its compressors and lighter overdrives. Delays and reverbs are well done, and the amp sims in general are fine for the price. 2 - Layout and UI : exceptionally good! The 3 buttons with the plastic tabs at the bottom gives you full command of your signal chain while only using your feet ; this is far superior than the Boss GT1, or other offerings by Digitech (like the RP series), and I found it a breeze to edit in comparison to other units like the Line 6 HD or Helix series. 3 - Looper : excellent! The sound is crisp and the control of it will save you buying loopers with additional buttons. 4 - Build Quality : so far it seems robust and well made. The unit is light weight and I find it perfect for slipping into your guitar gig/bag or fitting it on your board. 5 - 9V Power Supply : its included in the box! As the unit only uses 500mA, you should be able to add this to most high-end power-supplies (by T-rex, MXR or Voodoo Labs) with ease, unlike buying most Line 6 Multi-effects where they consume 1000s of mA.... 6 -Drum Loops : they are fine! Nothing special... Cons: 1 - Sounds : some of the emulations of certain pedals/amps are mediocre when A/B'd against other units. As a lover of phaser, I absolutely detest the phaser in this unit. - but some of you may love it, so who knows! 2 - Budget Amp Sims : if you think this will take on a Line 6 Helix or an Ax effects, then you will be sorely disappointed. The sounds work well enough for demo quality, but I don't feel like its got enough for pro-level. Be wary of the gain, as the amp sims tend to get brittle when the gain gets pushed on them. This can be counteracted with EQ, but I suggest you use the built-in overdrive pedals in conjunction with the amp sims to get the best results. 3 - DSP : it doesn't have a lot of processing power, and you will probably be able to only use about 5 pedals/amp blocks at any one time. I have found this to be quite adequate for my uses, but some of you may want to make more complicated patches.... As a guitar teacher, this does the job perfectly in conjunction my Boss Katana 50. I think if you are a beginner or someone looking to have access to a larger array of sounds, I think this is THE best multi-effects you will buy for the lower end budget of multi-effects. Everything is easy to access, and you wont suffer from endlessly tweaking 100s of parameters (like the Boss Tone Studio...) to simply dial up a good sound. Get it! :)

That's five stars for the price, by the by. My resume: I am a multi-effects addict. I try out all the new units. I've owned and heavily gigged with the POD X3 Live, POD HD500X, and the Digitech RP1000. I've used the Headrush and Helix. I get complimented on my tones when I go out and play live and people ask where my amp is (I always go Direct, though I have used tube amps in the past). This unit is fantastic. I've been using the POD HD500X for some years now, and in terms of sounds, this unit blows it away. The amp sims feel like I'm plugging into an amp, and the overdrive sims are AWESOME (suggest this for anyone starting a pedalboard build and wanna try a bunch of overdrive combinations before splurging on the real deals)! The delays, reverbs, and modulations are great (though the Pitch Shift effect is horribly slow, the POD creams it here). It's got that juicy/bloomy/airy feel, and there's SO many effects and drives and they all sound fantastic. The DSP is super limiting, but then again $150 is a super good deal, so a smaller processor it is. I use it for drives and amp/cab sims in front of my POD HD500X (which does everything after the amp/cab sim) for ambient/shoegazey/church stuff, and for metal stuff it goes direct by itself. If you don't need to switch your effects super often and just want a bomb DI rig/backup rig/versatile addition to your pedalboard, this is your girl. If you need an all-in-one unit, lots of processing power, and an expression pedal, save up or the G5N. If you want this to do JUST drives/amp sims or JUST delays/reverbs/modulations, this is perfect. In fact, every guitarist should have one, considering the price. However, The interface is pretty abysmal. In order to choose any effect, you have to scroll through EVERY SINGLE ONE until you get to the desired effect (though I may be doing this wrong). Also, you can't assign the footswitches to specific effects; think of the footswitches as three parts of a window that looks at your effects chain. You can only use the switches on effects that are next to each other. Yes, you can scroll the window to different parts of your chain, but what if you need to turn off a reverb at the end of the chain and turn on a drive at the beginning of it? Get ready to tap dance, partner (speaking of tapping, the tap tempo is buried under that bottom right pedal, kinda have to menu scroll for it). Overall, if you're aware of the limitations and strengths and you're still interested, you're GOING to like this unit. If you're not savvy with multi-effects and don't want to tweak or make presets, stay away. Oh and it's built well and feels good and blah blah blah...

Bought this after watching several videos and reading many reviews. I'm not disappointed. It was between this and the Boss GT-1. I probably would have been happy with either, but I got the Zoom. The Boss appears to have better modulation effects like Phaser, Flanger and Chorus, but the Zoom seems to excel with drive sounds. Both are good though. There are a lot of great options here - the TubeScreamer overdrive is fairly bang on. All the basic effects are more than usable. The Cry baby Wah is perfect. At first glance, the board is difficult to use, but within 15 minutes I had most of it figured out. Some decent default patches exist, and some good ones out there for download. I've made several decent ones as well. The looper is a bit short, but usable. The drum beats are solid enough to use, and between the BPM dial and tap tempo, it's easy to get the bpm you want. I use this board for everything - it's my daily default. I also mix it with regular pedals and it all turns out well. Got it on sale and couldn't imagine getting better value.
