We've been purchasing Clorox XTRABLUE Plus for a couple of years now. It is a great chorine pack, but it includes other chemicals to keep your pool clean and clear. They claim it kills Bacteria & Algae in Swimming Pools, Swim-Ready in 15 Minutes. I don't know how effective it is for bacteria and algae. I do know it's quality chlorine.

I’ve used this several times on my above-ground pool and it works well. It helps clear the water up quickly and is easy to use. Always keep a few bags on hand during pool season.

Used this today at 1:50 p.m. and by 3:30 p.m. the difference was incredible. The water turned noticeably bluer, clearer, and overall much cleaner in under two hours. We’ve been struggling to keep up with the heat and had been using liquid shock, and I even spent around $100 on Burnout at a pool and spa store but this Clorox® Pool&Spa™ Shock XTRABLUE® Plus works just as good, if not better. It made an immediate visible difference and my pool looks better than it has in a while. It’s also much less expensive per package than the Burnout from the pool store too! It also leaves the water smelling clean and fresh. Five stars all the way. Highly recommend and will definitely continue buying! Check out the before and after pictures, I was shocked!!! 💙

Arrived very quick and in perfectly new condition as expected. This 6n1 was a great value as I got it for what I normally pay for the 4n1. These are great pool chemicals and keeps me from having any algae issues. Definitely recommend.

i chose this over sodium hypochlorite shock for my swimming pool. Sodium dichloro-s-triazinetrione (often called "Dichlor" or simply "granular chlorine") is a stabilized, fast-dissolving, and pH-neutral chlorine sanitizer (55-63% available chlorine) designed for maintaining sanitization levels in swimming pools, hot tubs, and spas. It is highly effective because it contains cyanuric acid (CYA), which protects the chlorine from sun degradation, making it more long-lasting than un stabilized liquid bleach. I have used this in "tablets" used in my pool and have not had an issue with "chlorine lock" but do monitor for that. It's granular, you distribute with the pool running, do not put into the feeder. It has a higher chemical content that regular bleach, i like the 12 bag size of this offering and have used it before. There is not an ideal solution and i try to keep the chemicals balanced so i am not shocking the pool weekly.

This shock has worked so well for our pool and we have had no issues with it turning green. The Clorox brand has been great for us and has worked better than anything else we’ve tried.
